Today I've been trying some Super Dollfie sized clothes on my Maru & Friends Tanya, to see what does and doesn't fit these dolls. I have a lovely outfit that a friend of mine in the US made for me some years ago and although it is a little bit tight in the chest for Tanya, I managed to get it on her. She looks so totally different, like an old fashioned little girl. She really reminded me of a little girl from The Railway Children, so I decided to do my photos in sepia.

A new arrival.....
I ordered this little girl on the 13th March and got notification from the artist on the 15th August that she was finished and ready to ship! My husband Brian said that he would pay for her for my birthday, which was back in June. The little lady in question is my second Little Darling by Dianna Effner, this time handpainted by Pat Green who, although I understand is a relatively new artist to these particular dolls, she is a doll artist of some long standing.
I have named her Finn, as I like short boyish names for girls, plus there is a sweet little boy in the US with this name that I love....it was that or Zack, another of my favourite boys, and I really don't think Zack works so well for a girl as Finn does!!! So Finn she is!
Finn is a #2 sculpt and I asked for her to be very differently painted than Ellie as I wanted them to contrast. I wanted blue eyes, no freckles, soft lips and blushing and darkish brown eyebrows and lashes. I believe I got exactly what I asked for!!! I really am happy with how she has turned out......
I made her outfit last week in anticipation of her arrival, her beautifully knitted red beanie hat was made as a present by my late friend, May in Australia, she was known as Maisiedoats in the dolly world and I still think her knitting was second to none.
Here are a couple of not so great photos of when the two girls met! I love how different they both are. I think they're going to get on well!
And here are some photos of Finn trying on different wigs, she looks great in so many of them!
Thanks for looking!

This is the wig she came with, a Monique Gold Jojo....
This is a Custom House wig that I've cut much shorter, I also like this on her...
Not sure where this wig is from but again it's been cut!!
This almost black wig is a Volks YOSD wig, it has two small plaits at the back but they keep curling up in the air!
I think this next one is an Elfdoll wig...
This one is a Monique wig I believe, but not the Gold Collection, so the fibres aren't so soft. It has a single plait down the back and lots of loose 'tendrils' at the sides.
Ah, now this one I do know, it's a Leeke World wig and amazingly, remains untouched by scissors! ;)
And this is the very same style of wig but a different colour, a two tone brown with burgandy....
I have no idea of the make of this wig, I thought it looked really cute on her but needs a hair slide at the side. The fibres are quite artificial though, the only drawback.
This is my oldest wig and has seen better days! It is a Dollmore wig which came with my first ever BJD, Narsha. The fringe has been trimmed somewhat!
This untrimmed (and expensive!!!) wig is a Volks YOSD one....I quite like how Asian this one makes her look.
The next two photos show Finn in a faux fur wig by Spite & Malice, I really like this on her and will probably put it on her again in the future.
I think this next one is from Blue Fairy International, and it might even be UNCUT!!!
Finally, this is the one I've chosen for her to wear at the moment. It's a Monique Gold wig so lovely and soft with nice natural feeling fibres, but has had a lot of chopping. I think it was once a Faith wig, which is waist length with long side swept fringe.....well now it's just below chin length with a straight fringe!!!

Modelling in Monochrome.....
Today I made another Sasha ra-ra dress. I bought some nice black and winter white fabric yesterday and of course, being the impatient sort of person I am, I wanted to make something with it straight away! As if I don't already have a ton of fabric that I could have used! :)
I ended up making two outfits actually, one for Sasha and the second for the Little Darlings. I'm very happy with the Sasha outfit but the other one needs some work, it's too small, like a sausage skin on her! But it did give me an idea of what looks nice on her.
My monochrome models here are Núria (1968 redhead) and Ellie (Little Darling):
Now, back into colour, the outfit for Sasha is a ra-ra dress with long sleeves, the top part being in black knit fabric and the bottom 'skirt' part is woven cotton in winter white and black pattern. There is a white netting frill underneath. There is a sweet little black and white polkadot bow attached at the hip. The dress comes with black and white striped socks.
The Sasha set (one ra-ra dress and one pair of striped socks) is available to purchase at £22 for the set plus postage from Spain. Paypal only, payment as gift or personal payment preferred please).
Please email me at: dambuster0662@gmail.com if you're interested.
The Little Darling outfit is NOT for sale, it's not good enough, but if you'd like me to make something similar in this size, then please email me.
THANK YOU, OUTFIT HAS NOW SOLD....MORE COMING SOON!!

Autumnal ra-ra dresses.....
For some people cooler weather is quickly on it's way and although here in Spain we should have hot weather for a while yet, it got me to thinking about 'cold weather' clothes. Being a lover of bright colours and pretty fun prints, I really think that there is more to Autumnal doll clothing than dull colours and long dresses......just because the weather might turn dreary in places, doesn't mean our dolls need to look dreary too, does it? :)
Sooo I was wondering how my ra-ra skirt sets and dresses would 'translate' into Autumn wear? Today I made a couple of ra-ra dress sets in colours that I thought would work well for cooler weather......purple and red. As far as I can remember, I've not made a ra-ra skirt or dress in red, so chose this colour for my first set. The top part of the dress is bright red knit fabric and for the frills I chose this cute cotton pique in white with red flowers, and then the underneath frill is made of fine white tulle. The neckline is decorated to one side with a tiny bow of the same fabric as the skirt, plus a tiny white heart shaped button. The socks with this set are red and white stripes.
The second set is purple knit with purple patterned frill and the second frill is fine white net. The socks are purple and white stripes.
My models today are Núria (in purple) and Bailey (in red)....
These sets (one ra-ra dress and one pair of striped socks) are available to purchase at £22 per set plus postage from Spain. Paypal only, payment as gift or personal payment preferred please).

Beach babies.....
This morning I was on the beach even before the sun came up.....just me, the fishermen....and two of my dolls! :) Thank goodness the fisherfolk were fully absorbed in their quest to catch their breakfast so I was able to photograph my dolls to my hearts content!
The sky started to lighten to a shade of orangey pink in the east towards Torre del Mar.....
The sea started to lose it's darkness...the buoys on the horizon mark the distance that boats have to keep from the shore.
The sun peeps it's head over the top of the 'cliff'....
Now nearly fully exposed....
A fishing trawler with her 'company' of seagulls looking for their breakfast...
And a lone fisherman in his small boat...
The Spanish flag flaps lazily in the sea breeze....
Sun's up....
And finally, my dolls, Tanya and Ellie, enjoying the cool sand before it heats up to much to stand on....

And then it was time for a dip in the sea......I left my girls safely on the beach though, I'm not sure they'd fancy all that salty water in their nice wigs!!! :)
