Without further ado......Steve's gorgeous doll collection! (Photo heavy!!)

Well as I said yesterday, despite all the chatting we did when we visited Steve, James and Rachael, and how we almost forgot to look at Steve's gorgeous dolls, I did in fact end up taking a LOT of photos of them!  How could I not!  He has such a lovely collection, it was an opportunity too good to miss!

Steve has extremely good taste in dolls, so without further ado I will share the photos, although please forgive me for their graininess....it was a very dark day and I'd have preferred to use a tripod!  But a bad work(wo)man always blames their tools, don't they ;) . And I'm not even going to pretend to know who is who!  I can tell an NP but I'm still not completely sure about 'single fringe' etc etc.....so please, just enjoy!!!

Now I do know that this is an early Cora, with perfect curly hair!

And this is my favourite Gotz No Nose, she's just beautiful, isn't she!

Such a serene little face :)

Obviously a No Philtrum redhead, such dreamy eyes :)

And a blond, she's lovely too :)  Her eyes are almost violet.

And this stunning girl with her gypsum head and cloth body, wearing a really attractive Ruthsdolls outfit.  Look at those eyes!  Oh what a story she could tell us if only she could talk!

Another lovely blond NP, I think she's a single fringe girl too?

And this one below is my absolute FAVOURITE!  The moment Steve adopted her I fell for her....and coveted her too ;)  Good job for Steve that I didn't have a big handbag with me, she might have had to sneak back to Spain for a holiday! ;)  Just joking Steve...honest !!

It's funny because I have said to both Dee and Steve in the past that I'm 'lucky' in that I don't hanker after an NP Sasha.  I love them, love looking at them but could say, hand on heart, that I didn't want to get one.  However, this girl has changed my opinion completely!  I can still honestly say that I don't want any NP....just this ONE!!!!  If I ever win the lottery........ ;)

I'm sorry to sound so gushing, but this little girl is just perfect!

And a very handsome NP boy, in his lovely warm winter outfit and new boots!

Another gorgeous girlie, my second favourite.....though how you'd really choose I don't know!

Steve's collection of antique dolls is also lovely.  The big girl in coral on the left is particularly gorgeous.

Steve's only Himstedt!  I used to have her cousin...one of my biggest regrets, selling my Himstedts!!   Look at her precious wooden horse and her own little doll.  I think it's a tiny Helen Kish doll.

And finally this gorgeous Kathe Kruse girl, also dressed in a super Ruthsdolls outfit.

Thanks so much once again Steve for sharing your lovely doll family with us.....It was fantastic!

  3. Hi Sharon i am loving this post, i totally agree with you about the NP and it is just as well that you did not have a big enough bag to pop her in. I love the Kathe Kruse girl too. Is the little ginger cat yours or Steve's its so cute. Theresa xx

  4. Well that has improved my gloomy feeling greatly. What a gorgeous collection of dolls Steve has!
I too have always said, though I can see their beauty, I have never actually wanted them ( I played with several in the days when they didn't seem very special and were just my cousin's dolls that had a better than average doll sense of adventure and loved to jump from haystack to muck pile, dive into rivers etc!), but the lovely girl you so admire is VERY special. She has a young look that is very sweet. Is her face wider than usual?
I've never wanted a Himstedt girl either, but now.....!

  5. Great pictures Sharon, so much better than I take on my I pad, lol. It's so pity we didn't get to all my Sasha's but it was late when we started as we were to busy talking, lol. The little doll Tawnie is holding is a another little Himstedt , I brought her her own dolly, lol ( what am I like.
The little knitted cat Theresa somebody sent me and I am afraid to say I gave forgotten who is was ( big apologise to the sender). We had such a lovely day Sharon that we must do it again when your over next ( perhaps Brian will come with you this time, lol) xxxx

  6. Steve has got very, very good taste in dolls. I used to have a big collection of Himstedts, as I sold my entire Sasha collection to pay for them. Then decided they took up far too much room and sold them all. I do regret not keeping a few though, they are child like dolls, beautifully made. I used to enjoy ordering them from the factory so you could choose which one you wanted from a selection, like Sashas every one of them was a little bit different.

  7. Fabulous photo's Sharon, so clear! Steve's dolls are just so beautiful , he knows that I covert his 68 single fringe red but then any of these dolls would not be turned away from my door!! lol
I loved having the chance to see these dolls up close when Paul, Gill and I visited in the Summer, Steve is so generous in sharing them with everyone.
Gill and I did consider casing the joint but then decided we'd need to show them off, so we'll have to wait for him to go off Sasha.....It will be such a long wait.... drat :)
    hugs Dee xx

  9. Hello You! I am drifting back into Sasha again, slowly, as the VW show scene is over for the year, just a Christmas charity fun run we are doing in December, all the Beetles are covered up and put away until 2015. One is off to the body shop next week and should be back for the show season in March...so I have a lot of time on my hands...may even start blogging again :) Have missed you all.
    Much Love R xx

    1. Stop drifting Ronnie! Get a move on - we need you back now! Every Sasha should have their own VW (not to mention every Sasha owner) so you can take photos of them in their cars at the charity run.

This is the beginning of the season of ice and snow, how can we manage without the Ice Queen?

    1. Jenni I think she is about 19-20inches tall, I brought her a couple of years ago on eBay, I just fell in love with her face. I redressed her and re-did her hair ( her outfit is one of Ruth's studio dolls outfit, the same as my studio doll wears as I loved the colour) xxxx

  11. Thanks very much for all the lovely comments on my post....I'd love to say "on my dolls" but we all know that would be fibbing! LOL....Dee I too was going to case the joint but John had already eaten them out of house and home, I thought it only fair to leave behind the treasured dolls :)
Steve is indeed very generous in sharing his beautiful dolls with us.
Jenni, I think I can help with your question, the Kathe Kruse (I keep saying Kathy!) girl is about the same size as the Studio girl if I remember rightly.....and isn't she just gorgeous! Her face is soooo pretty!
And thank you Jenni, you have me looking at the Himstedts again, not that I will get one this year, but something to think about. I had 6 at one time I think it was, Pauline, Pinchinhu, Kadri, Jani, Oscar, Mava and there was one other.......who had a sucky lip but for the life of me I can't remember her name!
I will have to do a post one day with their photos on it.....a sort of stroll down Himstedt Memory Lane!

  16. Fabulous doll collection and I enjoyed seeing them up close very much! The Kathe Kruse doll is very wonderful and I agree with you, Sharon, about the favorite being the blonde NP. Who could resist such a face???? She is perfection!!! I particularly love the studio girl with her intense and stunning eyes. What a beauty!! Thank you for another great post! :) xxx

  19. What an unbelievably collection of exquisite Sashas. They are all so beautiful - total envy here!!! My absolute favourite has to be that cutie with the short hair. Such a sweet thing. Love them all! Sorry you didn't get away with any, Sharon. So unfair to have security at the door!!! Love the post! Fantastic! Thanks! <3

  20. I've always known that Steve has this fantastic Sasha Doll (etc) collection but to see these on mass and perfectly photographed has taken my breath away! (Now wondering if I should dial 999 and call the Paramedics for an emergency oxygen supply.)

A visit to his home to see his dolls has been on my 'Bucket List' for a long time but now I'm wondering if it might be just TOO much for me to see and handle these dolls in the flesh, so to speak, and finish me off completely...... BUT boy, what a way to go!

Thanks to you and Steve for this gorgeous, almost heart-stopping viewing.
