When I first saw Alice I wasn't sure about her. It seemed to me that from some angles she looked like she had bags under her eyes. However, I don't like to give up easily so decided to take her out with us this morning and take some photos of her in a more 'natural' environment than my mum's bedroom!!
And now I'm so happy with her, she looks lovely in natural light and I really like this outfit on her too. It is one that is made for the Kidz n Cats dolls and fits her really well. I added the pink jacket which came from another doll, the tights are part of her default outfit and the boots are from Gotz.
Firstly I took some photos of her by the beach. The waves were quite high this morning and the wind was really trying to tug her out of my hands!!! I love how her hair is blowing about, although I have to say it was hard to get the comb through when we got home!
Later we drove about 15 minutes inland to a place called La Viñuela where there is a lovely man-made reservoir that provides much-needed water for the surrounding area. At the moment, after such a long dry summer, the water level is quite low but the surroundings are beautiful and it's just sooooo quiet and peaceful.
It was so warm that she had to take her coat off after a while!
And then we went for a nice cold drink in a local restaurant and sat on their terrace overlooking the lake to drink it!

Alice looks very pretty, but at the moment I am still wrestling with the Bordy temptation! We holidayed in Nerja a few years back and really liked the area - and it looks fabulous today as here it have been wet fog/mizzle all day

DeleteI really like Nerja, it's just about 30 minutes drive east of here, in fact we're going there on Friday to meet up with my Godmother who is holidaying there. Today was a bit cool here too and we had a massive thunderstorm overnight! Hopefully it'll be lovely again tomorrow though, the rain never stops here for long.

She looks so real in those wind swept photo's on the beach. I know what you mean about them looking like they've had a late night! lol But I think they are one of those dolls you have to spend time with to really appreciate.

Those 'wind swept' photos by the sea are absolutely fantastic. So realistic with those huge white crested waves in the background and the wind whipping her dress to the side in those loose folds.
ReplyDeleteThen in sharp contrast the dry and parched land around man made reservoir with those beautiful mountains in the background, so warm and peaceful without the surrounding strong winds,so bringing her hair and clothing back to normal.

I' so glad shehas grown on you, Sharon. I love my Alice and was surprised about that as I wasn't sure at first either. But a couple of hours later, after I took her outside, my opinion changed entirely. Now, I wouldn't be without her. She doesn't photograph to well indoors, though.

And it is such a simple dress that I might have to make something similar for her. And I know what you mean about photographing her indoors, natural light is really so much nicer for her.

Gorgeous photos Sharon. She's styled so beautifully in clothes that aren't too matchy and perfect for the weather. There's something special about the Sylvia Natterer dolls, and also the French influence of Petitcollin actually. It took me a little while to 'accept' this new influence but now I wonder why!! The Minouche are also great- I didn't expect to be so taken with them, but I am. Thanks too Sharon! Maxine
