It is still a working port, home to many of the fishing boats that supply fresh fish not only to local restaurants but much further afield. To one side of the port there’s a beach and to the other side there’s a marina.
It was another lovely day with a breeze once we got nearer to the port. I took little Brodie with me, my Iplehouse BID Bordy, and as you can see her hair got a bit windblown!
We eventually had to remove her bow clip before it flew off into the water!!!
Brodie enjoyed looking at the fish, they are really plentiful here in the marina!
I love how the sunshine is sparkling on the water and making it look like little stars!!
The beach was quite busy for this time of year, but today is a national holiday, Constitution Day, and Tuesday is the day of the Immaculate Conception, another bank holiday here in Spain, so a lot of people make what they call "a bridge" and have a long weekend without work!
Because it's a bank holiday, the fishing boats are all in the port today.
Even the seaguls were enjoying the sunshine....along with one lone egret who you can just see in the centre of this photo!!
I hope everyone has had a great weekend and that the week ahead is good for you all. I really must try to focus on Christmas coming as I'm totally NOT ready! I think being at the coast and having such good weather at this time of the year has really thrown me!!!!
I LOVE BRODIE! She looks so sweet out in the wind! Looks like another lovely day over there in Spain, cold and rain here today, the morning was okay but late afternoon , wet.
ReplyDeleteI must also start thinking about Christmas, everyone seems to have started and I'm still playing with the dolls and working... have a great week ahead hugs Dee xxx
Thanks Dee, she is a sweetie I have to admit!! It was indeed another lovely day and today has been even warmer. I cannot get my head around the fact that it is just two weeks to Christmas and we're still walking around in short sleeves.....I may persuade Brian that it is a good idea to spend every Christmas at the coast rather than at home. Having said that though, when I nipped home last week it was lovely and warm there too and people were complaining that it was too warm for December!!!! No pleasing some people!

Can hardly believe that this photo was taken only a couple of days ago and we're here almost in the middle of Winter. That looks to be a fabulous beach and I love that dear little tot, Brodie, with her windswept hair.
ReplyDeleteOh it's lovely Kendal, people were actually sunbathing!! One man was even shirtless!!!! Shock horror! ;)
DeleteThank you, I'm glad you love Brodie, she's a little sweetie I have to admit!!

Brodie is a lovely little one! And you seem to have a great day together in that marina.
ReplyDeleteIn german we know bridging as well > bridge-days/Brückentage, and usually the highways are full with cars. So it's reasonably better staying at home here ;)
Are we really prepared for christmas? It seems to be far away and -*zack* - I'm in a hurry, ranting with myself as every year...
Thanks very much Anne, I'm glad you liked the photos. I didn't know the expression before coming to Spain, I don't recall every using anything similar in the UK although maybe someone will be able to tell me otherwise. But yes, long weekends in the UK were just like that, you stayed at home if you wanted to avoid masses of traffic jams!
DeleteI'm so not prepared for Christmas, I am going to have to send my sons birthday (23rd December) and Christmas pressies by Express mail which will cost a fortune, but it's my own fault as I've left it so late! LOL! Last year I said that I would start all my Christmas shopping on the 1st November! I didn't even start it on the 1st December this year!!!
