Volks mosaic for Dee.....

Dee, here is a mosaic of my Volks dolls.....I have six of them, the biggest is a Super Dollfie Nana, she is approx 60cm tall and is shown in the first photo (which incidentally is not a very good one of her!!), then I have one MSD (Mini Super Dollfie), which is Toppi, she's the one I was talking about.  And then the other four are YOSD (Young Super Doffie), Ayumu, Megu, Neon and Papi.

I like the feel of their resin, it is very 'substantial' and their faces are not realistic with their big eyes and small noses and mouths, but I do love them!!!

Top row, L to R: Nana, Toppi, Ayumu
Bottom row, L to R: Megu, Neon, Papi

All of them have custom faceups.

Hope you like them!!!

Legs.....

An old and random photo of Narsha's legs and feet.....she is my oldest bjd, having been here now since September 2006.  She's been through many changes over the years, she's had different faceups and different 'personalities', and still I love her!!  Funny but when I think of downsizing and selling dolls, it never ever crosses my mind that she'd leave!!

Silly really, but I just especially like this photo!

And here's the rest of her!

Another dolly up for adoption!

I really am being ruthless now and another girl is up for adoption.
This is Narae.  She is from 2008 and is an original French resin light tanned Narae by the BJD artist, Bimong,  when he was working with Narindoll International, and NOT from D_storic.  She is in lovely condition and as far as I can see there is no yellowing, or if there is, then it is completely even all over.  Narae is MSD sized, approx 45cm, with small bust and slim body and she has her removable teeth part plus her company disc on the back of her head plate.
Narae came to me with a custom faceup by Caroline of Viridian House in Scotland, but because it was a bit too mature for me, I removed all but the eyebrows and gave her a softer more immature look with pale pink lips, blush and freckles.  She looks particularly good with red hair I think.
She comes with random eyes, her certificate of authenticity, her protective face cover and cushions in her original box.  Her asking price is $450 or near offer, plus postage from Spain.  I accept a layaway (max 6 weeks) with a deposit of $100.
I'm also open to trades!!!

A new family member.....

This cute little Lovebird was rescued from the jaws of Lucy, my Miniature Pinscher, in the garden on Wednesday.  It was a bit bedraggled and bloody after it's 'experience' with Lucy, so we gently cleaned it up and put it in a tiny holding cage with food and water.  I wasn't sure it would survive, but in two days it's perked up amazingly well and today I bought it a new cage and all the 'trimmings'...

This is the fourth Lovebird or budgie that Lucy has found in our garden....sadly the others didn't fare so well. :(  She is an amazing hunter and can spring quite high in the air so if a bird has the misfortune to fly quite low over the garden, I'm afraid it's fate is probably sealed!

I have no idea where the birds come from but this one seems quite tame.   I did enquire with a couple of neighbours.   I sometimes wonder if someone is putting them in our garden when they no longer wish to keep them, because they know muggins here will look after them and buy them everything they need!!!!

Brendan wants to call it Rocky as it survived a 'fight' with Lucy.....but what sort of name is that for a sweet little Lovebird!!!!

Another of my dolly purchases.....

I got this sweet outfit from Aletsa2011 on Ebay.  I saw it and couldn't believe that no-one else bid on it, it just struck me as being very fresh and perfect for spring.  I thought that my blond Millie would wear it and that it'd go very nicely with her blue eyes.  However, because she has had a few new things made for her recently, Ellory grabbed it.  She added a denim baseball cap that I actually made for Alex, and teamed it with white leather sandals from Boneka.  I'm not sure that the colours are 'her' but for now she is wearing it.  I still think it'll look better on Millie and will have to prise it off Ellory when she's not looking! ;)

I also got this batch of 9 'nautical themed' fat quarters.  They're not really dolly related as such, because I originally thought I would use them to make some cushions for our little place on the coast, but I really only enjoy sewing dolls clothes, so I think I will use them to make some summer sets for my girls and boy.   I got them from a seller in the UK called bluenaboo and would certainly buy from him/her again as the service was really good, postage reasonable and despatched really quickly....all very important to me!!  (This is the sellers photo by the way, and not mine).

Now I'm off to do some sewing!  Have a lovely afternoon!

A couple of girls up for adoption.....

I am trying to cut the numbers down here at Dambuster Dolls, so I have a couple of bjds (ball jointed dolls) up for adoption.....they are also listed on Den of Angels.

First up is Amy who is an Iplehouse JID in 'special real skin' which is a light creamy tan.  She is approx 45cm tall, made of lovely smooth resin, has the bigger bust, mobility joint and the older style body.  I believe she may have yellowed slightly but it is even.  She has a custom faceup by JinXed on Den of Angels and I have enhanced it slightly by adding more blush, some extra freckles and darkening the eyebrows a little.  She is a lovely doll and would come with a random wig and eyes, face protector and her Iplehouse box.

I'm asking $325 for her, plus postage from Spain.  I can do layaway (max 2 months) with $100 deposit and all payments are non refundable.

EDIT: Amy has now sold on layaway!

Next up for adoption is my little Lati Yellow ex Pirate Miel.  She is a tanned doll and is approx 16cm tall.  She has a custom faceup by me with little freckles across her adorable nose.

Miel does not appear to have yellowed at all but if she has then it is even all over.  Miel will travel with random eyes and her certificate, as well as spare hands.  She has her Latidoll box but it is enormous in relation to her size and would make postage more expensive.  I can package her up safely in bubblewrap and a smaller box for her journey to her new home.

I am asking $350 or very near offer for Miel, plus shipping.  As with Amy above, I'm happy to do layaway with the same conditions.

I'm also open to possible trades!   Don't be afraid to ask, I can only say no and I promise that I'm always nice with it and never bite !!

Thanks for looking!

My second dolly parcel....Please meet Maggie!

The contents of another one of my dolly parcels to show you!  As most of you know already, I have been looking for a brunette Sasha for a little while now and a couple of weeks ago I got a very late/early morning email from a Sasha friend of mine who couldn't sleep and so was stalking Shelly's Sasha website...as you do!!!!  Anyway, my friend, sent me a link to a little cutie on the 'for sale' pages that she thought I might like!  And she was right!

The little girl in question was described as a 1973/74 brunette with dark puddle eyes, her original stringing and with soft and silky non falling hair!  I was smitten!  I contacted Shelly straight away for more information and decided to go for her!  I was particularly pleased that she had non falling hair because it seems to be more common for it to be falling on the brunette girls.

Well my little girlie arrived whilst I was at the coast, so I only got to open the box yesterday on my return.  As soon as I saw her I liked her, but immediately my eye was drawn to some loose hairs in the tissue paper that she was wrapped in.  Her hair was a bit sticky and her face a little grubby so I decided to give her a gentle wash.  As I picked her up and started to remove the clothes she was wearing, so more hair began to fall out.....and at quite an alarming rate I have to say!!  I thought "oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound" as the saying goes, and gently washed her hair.  The hair came out a lot.....I'd say at least a dozen hairs just in gently swishing her hair in the bowl of water, then I carefully combed it through and more came out!  I left if dry naturally in the shade and it dried very quickly...after all it was 28c yesterday!!  As I redressed her more hairs fell......so I think we can safely say that this little girl now has falling hair.  Such a shame, as her hair really is very soft and silky!

I'd heard that this falling hair can happen quite suddenly and quickly and I can only guess that in the time she was inside the box, the lack of air circulation, or maybe the temperature change, caused it to happen like this!

Having said all that, I am very happy with her and she is almost a twin of Alex my brunette dark puddle eyed boy of the same year!!  I will have to take some photos of the pair of them together soon.

In the meantime, here are some photos that I took of her this morning.  She is wearing a smock dress and tap shorts that I made in the winter for my blond Millie.  I think the red suits her better than it does Millie, so until I make her something just for her, she is happy to wear this.  I had her socks already here and her shoes are original Sasha Mary Janes and she came home to me wearing these....they are in good condition.  She tells me her name is Margaret....but likes to be known as Maggie.  I have absolutely no idea why these names came to mind....my mums name is Margaret but God help anyone who would dare to call her Maggie!!!  Anyway, I think little Maggie has scrubbed up rather well, don't you? ;)

I took this photo of the back of her head just in case it doesn't look nice and full like this for long!!
