Auguries of Innocence...

Man was made for Joy & Woe;
And when this we rightly know
Thro' the world we safely go.
Joy & Woe are woven fine,
A Clothing for the Soul devine;
Under every grief & pine
Runs a joy with silken twine.

William Blake, Auguries of Innocence

  1. Very poetic today Sharon.
    I trust there is not any woe but more joy in your life at present.

    1. Awww thanks Dee! No, thank goodness there us no woe in my life!! I reading a book by Jennifer Worth called 'In the Midst of Life' and the piem was in there and I just liked it....
      The book is actually about death, which sounds morbid but it actually isn't. I'm finding it very enlightening!!!
      I read some 'odd' books sometimes!!!!
      Hugs Sharon xx

    3. I didn't know you used to be a nurse Ronny, a very admirable profession. I have read her other books too and this is my last one now and am finding it very interesting indeed. Isn't the Kindle brilliant! I would be lost without mine, because English books are so expensive here and so many of the secondhand bookshops have closed down :(
      I just got the paper white version, I think thats what its called, it has the backlight and it's great. I need to put my older Kindle on Ebay so someone else can enjoy it!
      Right, back to the book....just reading about CPR!

    4. it used to be an admirable profession Sharon, but standards have dropped sadly and I am glad to have hung up my uniform and cap, but my God! what a fantastic time I had, I loved it so much it never felt like work!

    5. Ronny I can so relate! In another life I worked for the City of London Police and Essex Police in Scenes of Crime....we had a lot of contact with local nursing staff including those at Barts....they really knew how to party!!!! I think the medical profession and the police went very much hand in hand....ahhhh thise were the days! I loved that time in my life, it was hard work but we partied hard too!!!
