I ordered these two girls back at the beginning of January and the artist started painting them at the beginning of August. I chose two #1 sculpts, one with blue eyes and the other with a sort of grey/green eyes. Both girls are very pretty. I did think that I might make one into a boy, but they do look so 'girlie', don't they?
Anyway, the grey/green eyes girl came with a brunette wig, it's lovely and soft and the curls are nice, not too big and out of scale for her size. And the blue eyed girl came with a red faux mohair wig with a single plait at the back.
I've also added more blush to both girls as they tended to look a bit pale, I much prefer my girls to have more colour on their faces.
I've changed the blue eyed girls wig for a couple of other wigs with reddish tones.....as you will see below:
Girl A: (seen here wearing her default brunette wig)
Girl B: wearing a Monique Gold Tessie wig in Reddish Blond
Both girls together: The blue eyed girl on the right, is trying a Monique Gold Jojo in these photos:
I thought I'd see how the brunette girl looked in a Jojo wig too:
They still don't have names, but I'm working on that!
In the photo below, taken with flash, the girl on the right looks slightly bigger and maybe even a little older....it's a trick of the camera of course but even in real life she seems a little chubbier! So she will be the 'older' twin....only by a few minutes of course ;)
Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a lovely weekend :)
What a gorgeous pair - they both have such stunning eyes!
ReplyDeleteThank you jSarie! They really do, don't they!

There's always something so very special about twins. (My youngest brother had twin girls as their first born!) Just ADORE A and B especially in those Jojo wigs which are a perfect style and colouring for them. Like too the way you have slightly differently styled each , giving them their own little character.... (whilst also giving us the opportunity to tell them apart without always having to rely on checking their different eye colours.)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Kendal. And yes, I agree, I love seeing twins, there is just something about them. We have a lot of twins in our family and I hope maybe for more in the future, you just never know, do you!
DeleteYes, both girls will have different 'personalities' and won't be dressed the same, so that they are twins, but still individuals!

I agree with Kendal Sharon, they look great as twins but with the different colour eyes! They are lovely . It's such a long wait for these dolls that it must feel fab when they finally do arrive.
ReplyDeletelooking forward to seeing how these girls progress as I know your LD's. never sit still ! :)
How many little LD's do you have now? looking froward to seeing a line up sometime :)xx
Thank you very much Dee! I now have 6 of them and hope to do a line-up later today or tomorrow. I want to see in a photo how different they all are, even though I now have three of each of the #1 and #2 sculpts!

Sharon, they are lovely!! Just for interest did your friend have to pay any customs? I was quoted $65 for shipping- I suppose that is fully tracked and insured. Do you ever put mohair wigs on your LD's - I must admit I am a real wig snob and all my dolls either have human hair or mohair!! Finally, do you sell any of your clothes? Debbie in UK
ReplyDeleteP.S. Peter is my son, somehow my iPhone is linked with his Google account!!
Hi Debbie, thank you, glad you like them! Yes she did, but only £21 as the artist sent with a value of $50. Someone told me that if it's valued at $50 or above then you will get charged. It was so simple though, my friend just got the notification then paid it over the phone by card and then they delivered very quickly after that.
DeleteI ended up paying $57 shipping, and that was for 2 dolls packed together in one big box. I would imagine that with the low value, mine weren't insured for the full amount as I don't t hink you can insure for the full value and yet mark them lower.
I have tried lambswool wigs on them, and you probably saw my tutorial a couple of posts back on making one for the LDs? But I really like the Monique Gold collection of wigs which is super soft and silky and very easy to keep nice.
And yes I do sell clothes but I have a commissions list which is pretty long at the moment. If you'd l ike to go on the end then by all means let me know!

Wow wee Sharon!!!!! Congratulations on two beautiful new additions to your incredible Little Darlings collection!!! I love them both very much and when you pair them as twins with the twin JoJo wigs, it is just fantastic to see! You must be so very happy and I am happy for you too! :) I was so busy looking at their dear little faces and wig changes that I almost missed their sweet outfits. I love the Hello Kitty outfit and that lovely floral dress with rick rack trimming, and gorgeous floral inset at the waistline, is just too wonderful for words! Thank you for sharing! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Ginger, I'm glad you like them!
DeleteYou always say the loveliest things and I thank you for that :)
Big hugs SHaron xxx
Sharon...you just never fail to impress me with the absolute cuteness of your dolls. I am just SO IN LOVE with these LDs. I think I need to sell some of my other dolls because I would love to add one of these to my collection! I can't get over how much the blue eyed ones eyes popl. They are so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteAww thanks so much Farrah, I do love them and am happy that you like the look of them too.
DeleteThe eyes really are beautiful, you'd never realise they were painted if you didn't know already, would you, they're so realistic. And the eyelashes they look as if they are attached!! It's amazing. I would love to be able to paint like this!

I was curious which sculpts there are? I know you meanted #1 scuplts, but when I went on Diana's website (and it looks like Geri is the only one doing comissions?) all of the dolls were listed by different names...I especially love Camille and Dakota, but they are all so cute.
ReplyDeleteWell there are three different sculpts, but the artists seem to 'advertise' them differently. Some, such as Dianna and Geri Uribe, give them names, which is what you'll have seen on Dianna's website, but then the others seem to just either show their photos and they have a reference for you to quote or others again you just send them their own photo or a link to their photo.
DeleteFor example Nelly Valentino, who painted these, if you look on her website, http://www.timelesstreasuresmiami.com/ some have names and others just a photo reference if I remember rightly. Also, you can ask if they will paint x, y or z but with freckles or extra blush or blue eyes, so you really are getting a custom doll.
Also some of the artists' wait lists are shorter too. If you ever want any more information then you can always give me a shout.....I seem to be getting the hang of it now, as you will probably have gathered ;)

They are so pretty. I think they look extra sweet together as twins and their eyes, especially the brunette's eyes, seem enhanced further in the jojo wigs. I'd not seen these dolls before reading your blog so you've spurred me on to finding out more about them, thanks, Viv.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Viv, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing them!
DeleteThey are very addictive, like most dolls are I guess, but if you need any links or anything, just give me a shout.....I'm very good at 'enabling' ;)
