Springtime in Paris....

Well, not quite, but Springtime in Malaga doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it? ;)
But we do have Spring, and we also have Paris, well Paris fabric that is.  I spotted it in the haberdashers the other day and bought half a metre...as if I haven't got enough fabric already, but I'm sure those of you who 'collect' know how that goes!

I decided to make a new dress for Leoni, my new Zwergnase Junior, because she has a new sun hat and apparently 'needed' a new dress to go with it.   I used a bodice pattern that was waaaaay too big for her really but somehow it works, these Zwergnase kids seem to suit oversized clothing....I mean, look at the big boots they come with!

I added some fine net to the bottom frill to give it a bit of 'body', the frill itself is just a torn strip of fabric without any finishing, this is done deliberately, I didn't forget to zigzag...honest!  :)  Here she has teamed the dress with her red suede Zwergnase boots and some striped socks that I made ages ago for a different doll.  And of course her chunky wooden necklace....a girl has to accessorise, doesn't she!

And finally, I think it's gone to someone's head that she is the newest girl here but bagged the Paris fabric whilst everyone else has had to wait!!

Thank you for visiting, I hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend and a great week ahead too!

  3. That fabric is perfect on Leonie, I think the dress goes better with the boots and necklace than the original outfit. Very very cool sunglasses, make her look like a movie star!

  6. I love Paris in the Springtime, I love Paris in the Fall . . . isn't that how the song goes? I have a couple of Paris fabrics in my stash which I couldn't resist buying either Sharon. I see what you mean about her boots, but nevertheless the dress is perfect for her. :)

    1. LOL not sure on that song Xanadu...I'll ask the hubby, he'll know!
I'm terrible with fabric, I just couldn't resist when I saw this. We have a haberdashers near here and they have the loveliest imported fabrics, I like to help keep them in business ;) that's my excuse anyway!
      Oh yes, those big boots!

  7. She looks great, Sharon. Love her new dress - any panties under there??

Now, apart from the dolls in excess, can you guess my guilty secret? Oh, yes! You've guessed - I have lots of fabric and yarn and I make so little with it! But it is nice to look through it all, enjoy the colours and remember all the things I PLANNED but never quite made.

    1. Thanks Jen, and no, not a knicker in sight! Why do you think I made it so long ;)
She'll just have to remain grounded, no climbing trees for this young lady.
I know of so many people who have a mountainous fabric stash....not myself of course, just a couple of fat quarters....LOL yeah and if you believe that, you'll believe anything!

  9. So cute! Personally I think "Springtime in Malaga" sounds wonderful! But that fabric with the Eiffel Tower is lovely! And Leoni looks amazing in those sunglasses. Great score! Source?

    1. Thanks Jano....actually you're right, Malaga is very nice, I was there today and it was very spring-like :)
The sunglasses are made for Blythe but I've had them for ages, it's possible they came from Cool_Cat but I can't be completely sure. The 'arms' are a little too short for Leoni really but with her full hair you'd never know it.
