I just realised that I've not posted anything on my blog since the 17th June, my poor blog has been getting neglected by 'real life'!!! That's not good! It's not lack of interest, or lack of photos, I have both of those, I've really just not had time recently.
My son Brendan and his lovely fiance have just been here in Spain for a few days sorting out more of their wedding plans, I cannot believe how quickly the year has gone since they announced the date of their wedding and how now it is just under two months until their big day......I don't suppose there's time now to lose the 2 stone in weight that I planned last September, is there? Oh well!!
On the dolly front I have been selling some dolls and doing some sewing. I've been working on commissions, a couple of birthday gifts, a thank you pressie and a couple of things for my own dolls. At the moment my dolls are in a big heap, as those of you who read Dee's Sasha Village blog will have seen. I had to clear them all off the spare bed for my son's visit as I now use his bedroom at the coast for my dolls and sewing when we are down here.
I need to show you the second part of my 'Playing the Tourist in Malaga' post and will get to that soon but might wait until next week when I am meeting up with a dolly person in Malaga and she's going to show me her favourite place in the city.....mustn't forget the camera :)
So to make this not just a 'words' post, here are some photos I've taken recently:
I made this cream summer dress for Leoni my Zwergnase Junior Violet. I thought I'd use my sewing machine to embroider the pansies on the bodice and think the colour of the flowers works really well for her.
A close up of the machine embroidery, I really enjoy using this function of my machine but just don't get to use it enough!
I made this blue and white summer set, plus the shoes, for my friend's Little Darling as a 'thank you' to her for helping me out with a couple of things :)
I made this set for a lovely lady in Switzerland :
I also took Tanya, my Maru & Friends girl, out for a nice Sunday morning stroll....we went to Lake Viñuela and the Hotel Viñuela which was in the throes of being decorated for a wedding being held later that day. The grounds are beautiful, to match the hotel, so I'm not surprised that someone would choose to have their special day there.
Below photos were taken in the hotel garden, the lawns were so green and the plant life very lush.
I think that's enough photos for now, I don't want to bore you all with my photos. I hope everyone is having a great week and good weather too!
Dear Sharon, I will never ever get bored with regard to your photos I really love to look at :-). Liss xxxx
ReplyDeleteAww thanks so much Liss, I'm glad to hear it!

When photos are as fabulous as yours there's never too many of them! :)
ReplyDeleteAll of these outfits are fabulous, but I especially love the way the embroidery turned out on that first dress - fantastic finishing touch there!
You're really kind JS, thank you :)
DeleteI love that embroidery too, I really love my sewing machine, it's so clever!

Ahh, beautiful photos! I love that Little Darling. I think you did a fantastic job on all of those outfits. I totally hear you about neglecting the blog..mine has been pretty neglected as well. :) I didn't even recognize the Tanya doll with her cute hair!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Farrah.
DeleteYes, blogs are fun but hard work, then we feel so bad about it when we neglect them. I must try and do better. In fact I will once I'm not so busy :)

Lovely photos, Sharon! Has Leonie got that healthy glow from the Spanish sunshine? or did you give her helping hand with a little 'make-up?' My Lara doesn't have such rosy cheeks.
ReplyDeleteOf course, family visits are precious and the dolls don't mind takng a back seat for a while. Nor do we blog readers mind waiting to see your next lovely post.

Thanks very much Jenni! Yes, Leoni got that because when I wiped her face for some reason, can't even remember why now, the blush just came right off! I decided to remove the whole lot and redo her blush and then added some freckles. She looks like she caught the sun, doesn't she!!

Time just seems to be flying past for most people these days so no need to worry about your lack of blogging...so might not be able to find the time to keep up with it on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteWe all know just how busy wedding planning is and however early you start to plan in advance little things requiring decisions or another look at the situation keep popping up right to the last minute.
My favourite doll here is of course is your Little Darling girl and my very favoured outfit is her seashell one. Such a pretty combination.
Doesn't it just Kendal, I have no idea where the weeks go, I really don't.
DeleteI thought that my tanned LD might be your favourite here :) She's very pretty isn't she and she seems to suit blue and white. Thanks Kendal!

I know what you mean about 'life' getting in the way of blogging :) It must be lovely having Brendan home for a few days of wedding plans and shopping, the time to the wedding will shoot by and you'll be getting on your Mother of the Groom outfit and crying and laughing and having a great day! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the clothes you make Sharon, you can turn your talents to any doll and make a wonderfully fitted outfit of colour and style, so it's no wonder you are in demand ! Just remember to enjoy the beautiful place you live in , the summer will soon pass... well we are still waiting for it here .. so best enjoy yours! xxx
Yes, it really does, doesn't it! Oh well, we should be thankful that we actually have a life and don't have time to blog all the time LOL.
DeleteIt was lovely having Brendan home and he'll be back again next weekend, just for a couple of nights as previously, but it will be lovely to see him again all the same. And then the day after he goes back to the UK, so we'll be starting our month countdown to him returning for his wedding! Oh boy, the time has gone so fast, I can hardly believe it!
Thanks on the dolls clothes Dee, I'm glad you like them!

Oh loosing weight as one gets older is sooo hard to do. I walk and do a little pilates, but I can't budge that rotten tummy bulge, so you have my sympaathy Sharon. It's amazing how quickly the time slips by when you're having fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the embroidery on the cream dress, it's beautiful. I really should start using mine, it just sits unused these days. The clothes you make for the larger dolls are gorgeous and really suit them, they look like real kids. :)
I shall look forward to more photos og Malaga.
Hugs,
X
Thanks very much Xanadu! And yes, you're so right on the weight.....oh well!
DeleteYes, you should use your embroidery machine, you might get a new enthusiasm for it :)

So not bored with your photos! Have you popped over to my site to see you are a part pf our Dolltown Awards Day?
ReplyDeleteI love your outdoor photo focus...and all your stories.
These outfits are so cute! You really do the skirts and Tshirts wonderfully. And the white dress with embroidery is a favorite style of mine. Simple and pretty with that embroidery!
Have a great day!
Thanks so much for the award Jano, how sweet that your girls should do that for me ;)
DeleteI'm glad you enjoy my photos etc., it makes it worthwhile when people say that.

So well-dressed kids in beautiful environments! The little shoes you made are adorable. I also love the pansies on Leoni's dress. Wish my machine (or I) could do something similar...
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Ursula, I'm glad you think so.
