I'm sorry that there are no dolls in today's post but hope you'll enjoy some photos from my walking over the last few days. The weather has been beautiful since last Saturday and walking has been a real pleasure...until I developed a really heavy cold, so haven't walked today. Typical me, I'm fine all through the wet winter and then as soon as the sun finally comes out so I develop a cold!! Oh well!
Saturday I took this photo of the mountains behind us, you can see snow on the top, so it must have been pretty chilly overnight, but it was gone again by Sunday morning!!
On Sunday I walked quite late in the day and on the final part we walked along the beach, the sunset was really pretty.....
Lucy loves walking on the beach as long as we don't go too close to the sea, she really does not 'do' water!!! But give her a smelly old dead fish to roll in and she's in her element!!!
"Who? Me?"
Wednesday Lucy and I walked up to the Torre de Jaral which is located above the sea on the edge of the cliff, I've mentioned it several times here on my blog and shared photos. You can see it here on the cliff in the distance being caught by the setting sun on our previous night's walk....
The Mediterranean was particularly calm and beautiful, and there were lots of fishing boats going about their business....
This bush was full to bursting with bumble bees! There were hundreds of them, and the noise was quite amazing!
Lucy loves to sniff EVERYTHING, here she is amongst the wild flowers.....
Further on I could see what I thought were unusual looking bright red flowers in the distance, they seemed to follow the path that we had to take...however, on closer inspection, I saw that they were in fact tomatoes! With a few aubergines, courgettes and cucumbers thrown in for good measure! At first I thought perhaps there'd been an accident and a vehicle carrying them had tipped over or something, but it turns out they're fruits that are 'past their best' and cannot be sold, so they're thrown down for the local goats!!! I'm sure they enjoy them very much!
Lucy certainly found them interesting......
Further along I spotted these beautiful poppies growing around the bottom of a particularly vicious looking cactus!
And these pretty little purple flowers.....
And to finish with our final lap of our walk......looking west with Malaga in the very far distance....
And east towards Torre del Mar......
Big hugs, Sharon xx
Goodness Sharon ! I'm worn out just seeing how far you walk on your travels! But the scenery is fantastic which I think helps keep you going. I love the sea and I'm sure I'd walk more if I lived near it.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful cannot believe it's just on your iphone ! I especially love the second photo of the sunset , the colours are perfect and the photo so crisp.
Thanks for taking me on, Lucy and your walks, I had a lovely time and I'm not even out of breath! ;) xxx
Thanks very much Dee, I'm really late replying, sorry about that!!!

What a lovely walk! I love seeing other folk's travel photos. I love to visit in photos places I could never visit in real life. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Dorothy, I'm glad you enjoyed the walk ;)

What a pleasant walk that was Sharon, I enjoyed every minute of it. I was quite surprised to read about the tomatoes, but it all makes sense to feed them to the goats. :) I could easily put your little Lucy in my pocket and bring her home with me if I were there . . . she's such a little sweetie pie. Thanks for posting such interesting photos.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
X
Thanks very much Sandi and yes, those tomatoes, what a weird practice but I guess if someone can eat them then that's good, they're not completely wasted.
DeleteAwww thanks also on Lucy, she really is my little companion....although today she's been barking like a lunatic and driving me nuts!!!

What beautiful pictures of your interesting walk! Obviously there are always many new amazing spots to discover where you live. Every time I see photos of the area I'm very impressed, and glad that there are such lovely places in Spain to walk around in :-). Lucy seemed to really enjoy the walk as well, and she's a very cute little dog :-). I had to laugh with the "rotting fish" remark hahaha, especially since she doesn't "do" water :-D!
ReplyDeleteThank you veyr much for visiting and commenting :)
DeleteAnd thanks also on Lucy, she really is a lovely girl, just a bit highly strung LOL, but she's a great little walker too :)

A most beautiful post Sharon. What a gorgeous day and place to walk. I can see why Lucy likes her walk and what lucky goats to have such a feast waiting for them! đ xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ginger, glad you enjoyed it!

Beautiful scenery indeed... BUT would have been even more so if an occasional Sasha Doll could have been spotted along the way!
ReplyDeleteLOL why am I not surprised to hear that comment from you Kendal? ;)
DeleteBut I do agree with you, any doll would be great to take and photograph but the truth is, I have to wear a backpack anyway, containing my water, spare poo bags, sunglasses, cap etc., and I'm always worried that if I were to add camera and doll, it would 1) be too heavy, but more importantly 2) might get dropped and then I would be really upset. I do walk through some parts where the ground is very rough and I have to climb both up and down a rock wall to get into and out of the dry river bed, so I never chance it. One day I will take a chance and hope that all is well and show you photos that I've taken of dolls on my walks!

So many beautiful photos from your place! And it sure looks like a cormonant. In south Sweden these birds can sit on tiny rocks and "paint" areas all black. From far it looks strange, but when the birds sit near the shore, it is an amazing sight. The cormorant has a bad reputation over here, which is rather sad.
ReplyDeleteLucy is a cutie and there is so much for her to explore!
Hugs!
Thank you Niina. I was so happy to see that cormorant, I've not seen him since. Oh I never knew they had a bad reputation in your country, you will have to tell me some time.
