Some sunny day photos.....

The weather today was such a difference from yesterday when it absolutely poured down with rain for hours on end.  Today was nice and sunny although there was a sharp wind coming from the north, so although I went out to take a few photos, I didn't stay long in the garden.

However, I thought it was time to give my poor neglected Lati Yellow ex Pirate Lea some time in front of the camera.  Since she came back from getting a new faceup from Ravendolls just before Christmas, she's hardly been out of my dolly room!  So today it was her turn.  She got a change of eyes from dark brown to these lovely lighter brown ED eyes.  I think they suit her better as her tan 'skin' is quite dark.

For those who're not familiar with these dolls, Lea is 16cm tall and made of resin, she's a ball jointed doll from Latidoll in S.Korea.  Her head size is 5-6 inches and her eyes are 14mm.

I couldn't choose which photos I liked best so I am posting quite a few!!!

Ahhh....leaving the sea behind us.....

This morning we came back from spending almost three weeks at the coast and although we're only an hour inland, it's about 6 degrees centigrade cooler here than down there.....and I don't do cold!!!  Anyway, I unpacked all my stuff and then had a bit of 'dolly time' before getting back into the swing of 'home stuff'.

Olive, my JerryBerry, has the usual shiny face that these dolls come with but I don't really like how it looks in photos as the surface of her 'skin' creates a bit of glare, so I carefully covered her eyes and then gave her face a coat of Mr Super Clear Flat and I'm very pleased with the result.  Her face is now matt and looks so much better in photos......although I have to say, poor Olive doesn't look any happier, does she?

I also changed my Mini Fee Rheia's wig because the brunette mohair one was not so great.  I'm trying out blond for a while, although I still feel that she should be a brunette!!  You can see in these photos where I've removed the black dots at the corners of her mouth....I'm much happier without those!!

I also had some nice dolly packages arrive whilst we were away so I had those to open.  Rheia, above, got some great brown Mary Jane shoes which are handmade by a lady here in Spain.

My Blythe girls and Olive received four pairs of very pretty tights and some tiny pink socks.  I've not tried those on anyone yet but the fabrics are great...I'm sure the girls will love them!!

And finally I received four tiny wigs that I'd ordered from Kemper Dolls in the US.  I wanted them for my little Elfdoll Monnaemi Sisters.  I bought three Heidi wigs which have two long plaits and one which is supposed to be like a little page boy style.  The plaited ones are nice and I'll take some photos soon, but the other one is horrible, the wig cap is so weird, it's like as if it's already been stretched out of shape and is way too big for the little 2-3 inch heads that it's designed for.  Oh well, another wig to be banished to the wig box and unused!!!

So that was my day....!

To Cooper ... with love!

As promised, here are some photos of Kara, especially for Cooper (and Ronny too of course!)

Name: Kara Humphreys aka The Princess!
Date of Birth: 9th June 2008
Breed: Chihuahua
Nationality: Spanish
Colour: Ginger brown with dark, almost black, 'stripe' down back and on tail, white on tummy and chest and some white toes!
Eyes: Brown
Weight: 1.5 kilos
History: When she came to live with us, aged almost 4 months old, she was suffering from ricketts and malnutrition.  Our lovely vet felt that she'd definitely been badly treated in other ways too as she had a broken tail and her back legs were damaged and couldn't support her weight.  With a good diet she showed improvement within one week. Unfortunately she does suffer with Epilepsy and will have to take medication for the rest of her life.
Favourite outfits:  Red collar, Beige jumper with yellow and burgundy stripes knitted by her Nan!
Personality: Timid and nervous but very sweet.  Can be a bit naughty and has bitten the vet a few times when having her nails cut.
Likes: Goodies, snuggling inside sweatshirts being worn at the time and sleeping in the humans bed!  And particularly likes sitting in the sunshine!
Dislikes: Going to the vet!  And FEET!  Kara will not walk past any human feet if they are within about a metre and a half of her.

"Can I move yet, Mum?"

"Is this my best side?"

"Nothing like a bit of sun on your bum!"

"What? This is MY sun lounger!"

Olive in pink...

Thought I'd share a few photos of Olive that I took at the weekend.  She is such a cutie that I can't resist taking photos of her!

Yoda....especially for Karin!

I just wanted to show some photos of my little Yoda who's birthday is this Friday.  She is very grey around the muzzle but she will actually only be 5 years old on this coming birthday!

She is a wonderfully cuddly, but grumpy looking, Chihuahua and we've had her since she was just a tiny 7 weeks old.....and she had a very poor start in life, bless her, and the first 12 weeks with us were spent going back and forth to our wonderful vet, Silvia, who cared for her fantastically, even keeping her at her own home for two weekends when she was so worried about the poor little things health.  Yoda had to take antibiotics for 11 weeks and still has a week chest and sometimes suffers with her breathing, she also suffers from asthma and allergies.  She is particularly allergic to the anti rabies jab so our vet won't risk giving it to her again.  Thankfully the changes of catching rabies are very slim here in Spain as it has been all but eradicated, but it is the law all the same that all dogs, cats and ferrets are vaccinated against it!

And the Daddy Bear's bed was toooo LARGE!

Who put this big high step here?!!  (Having trouble getting over the kitchen door step!)

Hey! Who put me in this bag???

I was only trying to help!

All dressed up and nowhere to go!

Waves are up!

Hubby and I went for a walk down to the beach after lunch today and I took a few photos of Olive, my Jerry Berry Sleepy Berry.  It was soooo incredibly windy that I had to hold really tight to her as she honestly felt like she was going to be pulled right out of my hands!

Olive wanted to flap her arms and fly like the seagulls, high in the sky!

The sun was reflecting on the water, but it really struggled to get through the clouds!

And here are a few photos of four of our dogs, which I took during the week.  The only one missing from these is Lucy, our Miniature Pinscher, who rarely stays still long enough to be in the photos!!

From L to R: Kara, Suki, Yoda and Choco

Yoda's face shows her disapproval of the shenanigans going on behind her on the sofa!

I had to share this photo as it is so rare for Yoda to actually sit for me to take her photo, she usually runs at the camera!!!  Note she is wearing her 'off the shoulder' number....showing a bit too much cleavage for my liking!!!!

Hope you enjoy!!!

SNOW!!!!! In sunny Spain!!!

Last night we suffered horrendous thunderstorms down here on the coast and they seemed to go on for hours!  I always get worried when we have thunder and lightening down here because we are literally surrounded by very high Eucalyptus trees and I fear them getting hit by lightening and coming crashing down.

We are also so close to the sea and the waves really were making a racket last night!   We have a dry river bed  just behind us.  When it rains torrentially, the 'dry' bed fills with water and rushes down from the mountains bringing all sorts of 'debris' with it, and carries it past us and on to the beach!!!  It's amazing what sometimes ends up on the sand!!

However, my photos this morning are from my son who is at home in Estepa, Sevilla.  He woke to ...  SNOW!!!  The whole area is covered in a thick blanket of the chilly white stuff, so I had to have photos!!  Apparently it was so heavy that it brought our gazebo down, completely bending the metal frame with the weight on the snow on the bamboo roof!! Another job to be done when we get home!!

The annoying thing is, on the few occasions when it has snowed in Estepa, we always seem to be at the coast!  I think my hubby has a hotline to the weather people as he just HATES snow!!!

The roof of our kitchen, bathroom and our covered patio.....

Looking up our street towards the convent.....neighbour Magdalena is already sweeping!

The roof of the covered part of our patio.....

Again looking up the hill towards the convent....

Looking down the hill, north towards Cordoba...the olive groves are completely white!

The palm trees look very odd coated in snow!

My poor lemons!!!!  And the collapsed gazebo!

And just because...here are a few photos I took this morning down here on the coast...

Snow on the distant mountains of Malaga

Ahhh, there it is!  The sun hiding in the Eucalyptus trees!

Some lovely Jasmin in bloom on our deck!
