I decided to give the dark blond streaky wig another try, after a suggestion from one of my blog readers, Janet, and have to say that I'm glad I did. OriginallyI wasn't overly sure when I tried it because I really wanted to keep this girl as a brunette, but when I see the dark blond with brown eyes combination, I do really like it! So I tried the wig again and then plaited it into loose braids, and now I think it really does suit her!!! I like how the streaks look, breaking up the blond, and also the wispy bits at the front...it all looks more natural and childlike!
Here are some photos of her taken this afternoon,
I like how the sun is filtering through the leaves on this one:
She found a new branch to rest on during her quest to climb the tree!
I think by this point she was a little bit fed up with all the photos and tried to hide!
Loving her in this 'streaky' wig and delightful little Summer lilac shorts and top set and the three quarter socks and shoes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photography yet again! I particularly like the photo of her hiding partly behind the tree.
Your clothing designs and photo shots are 'right up my street' giving your dolls a real life childish appeal. More please!
Thanks so much Kendal, I'm delighted that you like the photos....and the outfit! I'm flattered that someone who takes photos as you do, enjoys mine! I'm also glad that you see the childish appeal which is just what I'm trying for. I particularly love little kid dolls, so these really appeal to me!!
DeleteShe looks lovely Sharon, I do like her in this wig and the plaits just give it that little extra buzz.
ReplyDeleteThe photo's remind me of my youngest daughter Courtney who is a brown eyed blonde who when she was little wore clothes just like this little darling.
I think this may be one of the wig's I have coming, so i will be trying this out on Cornelia ! although I do not have that gorgeous purple outfit that I love! I have the brown wig coming as well, so will be able to try that colourway to!
I agree with Kendal that the shadowed shot of her with ead down behind the tree is wonderful!
Does she have a name yet Sharon?
Thanks so much Dee! That's really funny that the photos remind you of your daughter Courtney, maybe this girl should be called Courtney, it's a nice name and she is still Nameless!!!!
DeleteI really look forward to seeing the brown wig in this style, it will be longer than mine as I cut a big old chunk off the bottom..oops! But these wigs are so nice and soft, I'm sure your little Cornelia will be lovely in it!
Courtney would be a great name for her :)
DeleteYour pictures of her Sharon are really good! I love the way you 'bring her to life'...good work- go to the top of the class:)
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks so much Ronny, I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!
DeleteHope the knee is holding up and feeling better! And Merrick too, hope she's mending nicely.
She looks great in this wig Sharon, the combination of the brown streaks with her lovely brown eyes really does suit her as you say. Her little outfit is cute and I love the way you have made the socks to match her top. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lorraine, I wanted to keep her a brunette at first but glad I gave this look a go, it really does seem to be her 'look'!!
DeleteOh, as soon as you braid that wig, it looks perfect on her! She looks like she has been having a wonderful time outside! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Randomfish! I didn't think to braid before, so am pleased that I did....as you say, it really works for her!!
DeleteHer hair is beautifully shiny too...

Thank you Penny! Yes, it's really got a great shine to it, and it's an old wig too, probably I've had it for 6 or more years!!! I do like the synthetic mohair or whatever it is they call it!!!
DeleteI am so pleased to think you took my suggestion - and I'm equally pleased that she looks so good! I love the escaped strands around her face - I see that she is a girl who plays outdoors and hides, so it suits her - the little minx.
ReplyDeleteThe lavender shades of her clothes are really good for her. it's a cute and comfy outfit- great shoes and socks too!
I'd love it if she was named Courtney, as that is my own daughter's name - although my girl is not a blonde.
Thank you Janet! Yes, she is definitely an outdoors sort of girl, she likes to climb trees and look for bugs....a lot of my dolls seem to be tomboys! I wonder why that is, could it be a reflection of me when I was young and actually didn't play with dolls but did lots of tomboyish things?!!!
DeleteI'm glad you like the outfit too!
I really like the name Courtney, but am still not sure....she's an incredibly hard girl to name, I've no idea why this is though!
One morning, you will wake up and as soon as you see her, a name will pop right into your head ! I had 2 different possibilities for my new Sasha, but I was having a hard tome deciding. And, then, it happened - and she is not either of those names!
