Beach babies!

Well not really 'babies' at all but definitely the beach!  The last week has been beautiful weather-wise, so I thought I'd take full advantage of the empty beach before people head to the coast for Semana Santa.

My two little Elfdoll Monnaemi Sisters (14cm tall), who I call Sunny Song and Minx, wanted to take their horse to the beach and ride him in the edge of the surf.  The waves were a bit too choppy for them to get too close to the water but they enjoyed taking their 'magical' horse for a trot along the sand.  Magical?  Well if you look at my photos you might spot one glaring error on my part!  The horse doesn't have any footprints!  LOL!  Oh well, next time!!

The girls did have one little 'mishap', a wave came further up the beach than I anticipated.....

Fortunately no harm done, just a bit wet....and they soon dried off on the sand!

Two other little girls wanted to join us on the sand, my Fairyland Little Fee Antes, Fiona (normal skin) and Tyrone (tanned).  They were a little disappointed that they couldn't go in swimming but it really was a bit rough and they are not strong swimmers! ;)

I hope you've enjoyed seeing the girls at the beach, and that you're all having a lovely weekend.  I hope the week ahead, leading up to Easter, is a great one for you :)

Big hugs Sharon x

A blast from the past....

I've been busy recently and not had time for much photo taking so I thought I'd share some older photos of some of my dolls enjoying the sunny weather.

These photos were taken several summers ago in my garden where we used to have a pool and I loved how bright the colours came out so thought you might like to see them again...

The dolls are my tiny 14cm tall Elfdoll Monnaemi Sisters, tiny and skinny little resin BJD girls who were sculpted by Rainman, the founder of Elfdoll in South Korea.  Their 'swimwear' was made by me using little pieces of ribbon!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend..thanks for visiting!

Getting some girls ready for winter....

Yesterday I made a start getting some of my dolls ready for colder weather, and a good thing too as this morning there was a definite nip in the air!  It was still nice in the sunshine but when in the shade, you certainly noticed the difference.  Today is the first time since about April that I've worn socks....and a cardigan and it felt rather 'odd' after all that time!

So the first three to get out of their summer gear were the Monnaemi Sisters, Minxie (Min del Re with custom face up by Ravendolls), Sunny/Song (Bong Sun Hwa with default faceup) and Twig (Min del Re with default faceup).  These small resin ball jointed dolls from Elfdoll in South Korea are skinny little 14cm girls, they're tiny but very cute!  They wear 2-3 inch wigs and have 6mm eyes....a real challenge to change those eyes, I can tell you!

Anyway, here is the line up in front of my sewing machine, to show you just how small they are:

L to R: Minxie, Sunny, Twig

When I first saw Bong Sun Hwa I thought she was really quite ugly and couldn't understand what the attraction to her was, but then I decided to order her for myself back in early 2009 when Elfdoll re-released them....she, along with her sister Twig, travelled to Spain together and I was rather pleasantly surprised when I got her, and she's really grown on me since....I think I can say that I actually like her a little more than her sisters, there is just something so sweet about this tiny Asian girlie! :)

Minxie and Sunny:

Minxie in this funny denim cap I made for her....

Twig keeping her ears warm with this 'large' earflaps hat I crocheted for her!

The three sisters are heading out for a bit of retail therapy! :)

Have fun girls!! :)

Summertime, and the living is easy.......

These are old photos but I thought I'd share them on here as I haven't done so before.  The Monnaemi sisters, by Elfdoll,  are enjoying the swimming pool in the sunshine.  These resin BJD girls are 14cm tall and very skinny, I made their swimwear from narrow ribbon and trimmings!

Saddle him up!!

Twig, (Elfdoll Min del Re, 14cm resin ball jointed doll) has wanted a horse for ages and back in January I was lucky enough to find her one.  However, because the weather had been cold, the horse had to be kept in his 'stable'...until today!!  The sun was shining and it was hot, so Twig decided it was the perfect day for a ride!  Twig has decided to call her horse Amazon....and what a magnificent beast he is, don't you agree? ;)

Of course the whole family wanted to come outside and see Twig on Amazon, even the two dogs, who didn't seem to be in the least bit afraid of such a big creature!  Sunny has brought along her camera to record the occasion.

L to R in front: Boris the Bulldog, Sunny Song (Elfdoll BongSunHwa),  Minx (Elfdoll Min del Re 2nd Edition with custom faceup by Ravendoll), and Stanley the Chihuahua.

One for the photo album Twig!!

THE OUT-TAKES

As per usual when I'm trying to take photos of my dolls in the garden, I have my little 'helpers' in attendance.  Today, apart from running up my back and deciding to sit there whilst I was laid out flat on the ground to take these photos, Yoda decided that she needed to be in on the 'action'.....hence we have dolls falling over in all directions!!!

"Oh" said Yoda "I think this one would benefit from a little wash!"

"Oh dear! Looks like she's tired, poor thing!  Oh well, let her sleep...what can I do to help now mum?"

No dolls or animals were harmed in the taking of these photos....but the photographer had trouble getting back up off the floor afterwards....DOH!!!

Biking....

I just realised that all my blog posts recently have been a bit like "this is what I'm working on...." so I decided that although these photos are not new, I thought I'd share them on here instead.

These dolls are tiny, each of them are only 14cm tall and are made of resin and all ball jointed.  Four of them are made by Elfdoll and the other, the blond, is from Dollmore.  I love this size as they fit relatively well with 1/12th (dollshouse) scale items.  The scooters are made of metal and are actually ornaments but fit these girls perfectly!
