A little bit of sewing....

I haven't been sewing much since August, in fact I've really had no inclination to sew either, however just recently the urge to do something 'creative' has been niggling there at the edge of my brain, so finally, after a few false starts, I've made a new outfit for one of my dolls.

The doll who was lucky enough to get a new outfit was Devlin, my blond 1969 PJs Gregor.  He is a cutie but is seriously in need of restringing, and hasn't had anything new to wear in ages.  So I looked through my photo album of 'clothing ideas' and found this photo:

It's a little boys outfit from my favourite children's clothing shop, Raquel's in Torre del Mar, a lovely but very expensive shop I might add!

Because I was feeling a bit lazy after so long without sewing, I decided to make my boys outfit with short sleeves rather than long cuffed ones, (plus it is still warm enough for him to wear short sleeves in the sunshine!) and whereas the shirt in the shop window was without a collar, I wanted this rounded collar on mine.   I also added knee high navy blue socks and he is wearing black leather boots by Ruthsdolls.   I'm very happy with how Devlin looks in his new clothes.

I now want to make two more boy outfits for my other Gregors but so far 'thinking about it' is as far as I've got! LOL

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you all have a lovely week a head :)

I taut I saw a puddy cat.....

I was asked if I could make a Sasha sized Pusheen hoodie and didn't have a clue what a Pusheen was, or more precisely, 'who' a Pusheen was....however once I'd 'googled' it, I realised that I knew exactly who the 'character' was, but never knew he/she was called Pusheen. Pusheen is a cat, a cartoon cat to be more precise and looks like this:

So I looked for a human hoodie with Pusheen on it and found this:

So I went ahead and made one.....mine is slightly darker grey in colour and the tail on mine is removable, I've attached it to the inside centre back ribbing with a metal snap, just in case the new owner wants to remove it and sit down comfortably! ;)  Devlin is doing a grand job of modelling for me as you can see:

I hope you like it!  I think Devlin is a bit miffed that he has to give it up to be honest.   Maybe I need to make him a cartoon hoodie too......though not yet sure which one!!!

Hope everyone is having a lovely St Patrick's Day :)  and thanks for visiting my blog!

A sunny Sunday stroll...

Some of the vinyl kids are out strolling in the sunshine.  We have a new pushchair which I got recently for my girls to play with, but it actually fits one of the Natterer babies so a group of the bigger kids are taking him out for a little walk....after being cooped up in my sewing room, they just needed to work off a bit of energy and get some fresh air!

Here is Jakob, showing you how perfectly he fits into the pushchair....pity it's pink though!

The pushchair is a little bit tall for the Sashas to push and a little bit small for Bertie to travel in....but fortunately, Bertie is now trying to walk so he wouldn't want to stay in the pushchair anyway....he's going through that very 'independent' stage I'm afraid ;)

His brother Devlin did try to persuade him to stay behind but he insists on 'walking'....although he regularly sits down or wants to be carried!!  And let me tell you, he is no light weight!! ;)

Tanya (Maru & Friends), Destin (60s Gotz slate eyed Sasha), Devlin (1969 blond PJs Gregor), Jakob (Gotz 50th Anniversary Ltd Edition Sylvia Natterer baby) and Bertie (1969 blond sexed baby boy) all head out into the sunshine.

The kids certainly seem to be happy to be out in the sunshine and out of their winter clothes, don't they?

Not quite sure what's being discussed here, I was too far away to eavesdrop but I think maybe Destin is asking if she can push the pushchair....

Looks like Bertie has taken away Jakob's red London bus, there'll be ructions!!

Above and below, listening intently!

Below, handsome boy!

And finally a few photos of Tanya who is trying out a new wig, it's a Monique Buttercup but I'm not sure it's really 'her'....the front is a bit 'sparse' which I don't like so it's hard to push it to one side, out of her face, without the cap showing.

However, that aside, she has a new outfit that I quickly made yesterday afternoon, so she's happy.  The yellow top is made from a skirt I bought some years ago in a sale, and leggings are made from a pair of child's leggings, again bought in a recent sale.

Wren & Ellory .... two girls who stayed at home....

Both Wren (1969 Kilt) and Ellory (1979 Redhead White Dress) wanted to come with me to the UK as they wanted to visit with friends at the Chat n Snap.  Wren was all ready to go, she'd chosen and changed into her outfit, had her hair washed and combed....she even had her passport ready.  Unfortunately though, with just days to go, her stringing seemed to give way and the poor girl was a sobbing heap :(   I did quickly restring her but I decided in the end to leave her at home in case she embarrassed herself by collapsing on the day!  Whilst I was at the CnS I spoke with Brendan about sending her for proper restringing, so that will probably happen in the New Year.   In the meantime, I thought I'd share some photos of Wren and Ellory on here, both girls are ready for colder weather!!

(I've actually been practicing using my 'light tent', which is the real reason for these photos!)

Devlin visits The Donkey Sanctuary...

My husbands daughter and grandson have been visiting from the UK for a couple of days and yesterday we decided to visit the local donkey sanctuary, which is located in the town of Fuente de Piedra in Malaga Province.

http://www.elrefugiodelburrito.com/en

The sanctuary is such a lovely place, set in the middle of the countryside, it is incredibly peaceful and it's always nice to just wander around watching the donkeys going about their business.

When we arrived it was feeding time so most of the donkeys were busy eating their feed, but several of them still took the time to come over to the fence of their paddocks to greet us!

As it happened, Jake, my husbands grandson, wasn't particularly interested in the donkeys, preferring to play on the childrens slide instead, but luckily Devlin was delighted to see them and really wanted to get 'up close and personal' with them.  However, we had to be quite careful as the donkeys liked him a little bit too much and thought he'd make a tasty dessert after they'd finished their lunch!!

Devlin wanted to ride one of the donkeys but had to be content with pretending to ride, by sitting astride the fence!

Pausing at the Pozo de los Deseos, or Wishing Well.....I wonder what Devlin wished for?

These donkeys are part of the sanctuary's 'adoption' scheme.  For a minimum donation of €15 you can 'adopt' one of the donkeys and you receive newsletters and a certificate.  For several years we've adopted Leon who was rescued from Naples Zoo in Italy!  Most of the donkeys are rescued from all over Spain and the rest of Europe.  Sadly, most have been abused or neglected, but some are brought there by their former owners, who can no longer afford to keep them once the donkey is too old to work anymore.

Taking a respite from the heat!  Devlin was glad of his cap but really should have worn a tee shirt rather than his hoodie!

A close up of my handsome blond boy from 1969!

After a stroll around the paddocks in the heat, we took a look in the Sanctury's shop, where they sell a selection of items to help raise funds for donkeys keep.  Devlin finally got a ride on a donkey....although this one was made of woven straw!!!

Connor gets a new pedal car....

Connor, my little Natterer boy, so wanted to take his new pedal car into the garden now that Christmas is over, but it had been drizzling over night and the garden was quite damp, so he had to play in the hall!  The other boys all wanted to admire it and even have a go at driving it, but unfortunately they are all a bit too big to fit in!

Everyone is standing around waiting for "the off!"....
