The Himstedts get some camera time.....

This weekend we spent time at our house in Sevilla Province as my son Brendan is here for a week from the UK and wanted to spend a bit of time seeing his friends.  Apart from the fact that the house is like an ice box....plus covered in dust....as it's not been lived in for ages, it was nice to be back, if only for a short time.  But yes, the house was COLD!  I wore so many clothes to bed, including a knitted hat, that when I got up this morning it was like peeling an onion to get in the shower, so many layers...and still I was cold!!!

However today it was lovely in the sunshine in our sheltered garden, so I decided to take some photos of my Himstedt girls as I miss photographing them as they're just too big to have with me at the coast.

So first we have Kiomi, who I call Kimmie.  Kimmie is from the Himstedt Kinder 2005
"World's Children Summit", she is 82cm or 36 inches tall, and she represents a child from Japan.  I love her eyes, which unfortunately you cannot see very clearly here as the sun was so bright!  She is from a limited edition of 713 dolls.  Kimmie is wearing real children's clothes and sneakers.

Secondly we have Sidika, who is 73cm tall (28.5 inches) and is known here as Sydney.  Sydney is from the same 2005 collection as Kiomi, but she represents a child from India.  She is also from a limited edition of 713 dolls.   I love her sweet childish face and her open mouth and little teeth showing!  Sydney is wearing a dress and blouse that I made for her using my own patterns.  Her boots and tights are for real children.

Both girls have human hair wigs and their gorgeous eyes are hand blown glass paperweight eyes which I believe are made in Germany.

Sydney was distracted by some white doves on the roof of our house! ;)

I hope you've enjoyed seeing Kimmie and Sydney playing in the sunshine in our garden!  I'm sure you'll agree that Annette Himstedt has done a fantastic job of representing real children in vinyl.   If you'd like to see more photos of Himstedt dolls, which are sadly no longer made, there is a lovely website here that I can highly recommend for some gorgeous eye candy!

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you have a great week ahead and that you're not too cold where you are :)

Hugs Sharon x

Dolls for Sale - Warning: Nude dolls!!

I have a couple of ball jointed dolls for sale and thought I'd show them on here too, just in case anyone is interested but isn't a member of the BJD forum Den of Angels, where they are also listed.

The first doll who is looking for a new home is a Volks Super Dollfie (SD10) Nana who is approx 58cm tall and made of all resin.  I bought her new in March 2008 direct from Volks in Japan.  She is a beautiful doll and has a gorgeous custom faceup by Luna in Italy.   The doll comes with the chocolate brown Leeke World wig shown in the photos, random glass eyes (not necessarily those shown below)  and her white cotton knickers, also shown in the photos.  She also has her original box and cushions.

The price for this doll is $550 or best offer, plus shipping.  I ship worldwide.

The second doll looking for a new home is a 1st Edition Ayumu, who is also from the Volks Company.  He is a YOSD, approx 26cm tall and anatomically correct.  Ayumu is also made of all resin and is fully jointed.  I bought him brand new back in November 2007, via a shopping service in Japan.  Ayumu comes with his default wig, shown in the photos, random glass eyes, his full paperwork, default box and cushions.  He too has a custom faceup, his is  by Caroline of Viridian House in the UK.

The price for this doll is $375 or best offer, plus shipping.  I ship worldwide.

Both dolls are in very good condition with no chips, bad odours or other damage.  They both have probably yellowed slightly over the years but if they have then it is even.

If you are interested in either of the above dolls, then please email me at:

dambuster0662@gmail.com

And please don't be shy about making an offer, I can only say no, and I promise that I'll say it really nicely and not in a scary way! ;)

Thanks so much for looking, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Finding her feet.....or a new body for Olive!

Olive, my Jerry Berry Sleepy Berry,  has needed a new body for a while now as her original one had got very loose and she couldn't stand up without falling forward or backwards at the hip joint.  So I bought her a new body from Japan and it arrived about two weeks ago.  I fitted it and once she 'came around' from the 'operation' she was fine....of course she's had to get used to her new 'mobility' again!!!

Me: "What's up Olive?  You look a bit worried!"

Olive: "I feel dizzy....my legs don't want to play with me today, they want to rest!"

Me: "That's your new body Olive, you've just got to get used to it, that's all!"

Me: "Come on now, let's get you to your feet and get those new little leggies working for you!"

Olive: "My legs feel like I have eaten too many jelly babies!"

Olive: "Wooooooaaaah!  It feels funny mum!  My knees don't want to be together anymore!"  (Such concentration on that sweet little face!)

Me: "Now how does that feel?"

Olive: "Bit better! At least my nose doesn't hit my knees now, does it!!  And look!  I can do this!"

"And this!"

"I can lean like this!"

"And both hands out!"

Me: "Careful Olive, I think you're getting a bit too adventurous with your new body!"

"Aaaaaah! Oooops!  I think you were right mum!"

Me: "Well while you're down there, you could check out your new ankles too!"

Olive: "They're great mum!  I can point my toes out like this!!!"

Me: "I think that's enough now for one day, don't you my dear!  You don't want to over do it now, do you!"

Olive: "Yep, I think you're right mum, I'll just sit down again on my new chair and have a little rest!  Thank you for getting me a nice new body mum, I really 'preciate it!"

Ahhh now wouldn't it be good if we could get a new body when the old one was faulty!

Thanks for reading my little 'story' of Olive's new body!

New eyes for Vienna

This week I changed Vienna's eyes from pale lilac to deep brown glass.  I really love brown eyes on my dolls and these are no exception, I think she looks lovely with them.  Vienna is a Volks SD10 Sister mould, her default name is Nana, but she became Vienna when she came to live with me.  I bought her new from Volks in Japan and she's been here since March 2008,  more than 6 years now!  She is 58cm tall and all resin.  Her faceup is a custom one by Luna, a faceup artist in Italy.  I love her work and I think she did a wonderful job on Vienna.  She's wearing a dress that I made for another, since adopted out, doll, so it is a bit big in the bodice....but I think she's happy with it as it keeps her nice and cool in this hot weather!
