She spun and she spun and she spun.....

.....but despite all her spinning, Olive still couldn't fathom out why she didn't turn into Super Girl!

In fact, all she really ended up with was....a dose of the dizzies!!!!

Finding her feet.....or a new body for Olive!

Olive, my Jerry Berry Sleepy Berry,  has needed a new body for a while now as her original one had got very loose and she couldn't stand up without falling forward or backwards at the hip joint.  So I bought her a new body from Japan and it arrived about two weeks ago.  I fitted it and once she 'came around' from the 'operation' she was fine....of course she's had to get used to her new 'mobility' again!!!

Me: "What's up Olive?  You look a bit worried!"

Olive: "I feel dizzy....my legs don't want to play with me today, they want to rest!"

Me: "That's your new body Olive, you've just got to get used to it, that's all!"

Me: "Come on now, let's get you to your feet and get those new little leggies working for you!"

Olive: "My legs feel like I have eaten too many jelly babies!"

Olive: "Wooooooaaaah!  It feels funny mum!  My knees don't want to be together anymore!"  (Such concentration on that sweet little face!)

Me: "Now how does that feel?"

Olive: "Bit better! At least my nose doesn't hit my knees now, does it!!  And look!  I can do this!"

"And this!"

"I can lean like this!"

"And both hands out!"

Me: "Careful Olive, I think you're getting a bit too adventurous with your new body!"

"Aaaaaah! Oooops!  I think you were right mum!"

Me: "Well while you're down there, you could check out your new ankles too!"

Olive: "They're great mum!  I can point my toes out like this!!!"

Me: "I think that's enough now for one day, don't you my dear!  You don't want to over do it now, do you!"

Olive: "Yep, I think you're right mum, I'll just sit down again on my new chair and have a little rest!  Thank you for getting me a nice new body mum, I really 'preciate it!"

Ahhh now wouldn't it be good if we could get a new body when the old one was faulty!

Thanks for reading my little 'story' of Olive's new body!

A little 'Thank You' note!

Back in the summertime, my girls and boys were sent a lovely present from their Auntie Joyce in the UK.  Because the weather was too nice for them to stay indoors, I made them wait until now, when the nights are drawing in, to use this gift.

The gift in question is a fabulous Apple laptop!!!  The kids are absolutely delighted with it as it is something they've wanted for ages!  Olive, my Jerry Berry Sleepy Jerry, got to use it first because, unfortunately, she is struggling with her studies.....her spelling and grammar leave a lot to be desired....but as you can see, she is working very hard to do better at both! ;)

It didn't take her long to get the hang of the keyboard, look at those little fingers whizzing over the keys!!!!

Such concentration on her sweet little face, she'll be Top of the Class at this rate!

I can't wait to see what little gems of school work she produces!

Oh my goodness, I'm soooo sorry Joyce, what a cheeky little monkey!  Please accept my apologies for her dreadfully forward behaviour.....there will be no 'plastic card' OR internet for this one for a while, that's for sure!!!

Adding my thanks to Olive's, although hopefully with better spelling, I'd like to say thank you again Joyce for the sweet present, which is actually a little handbag mirror!  But of course it is the perfect 'prop' for my dolls, so that is where it will get most use!!

Picking oranges...

Today was a really lovely day, the temperature was in the low 20s, centigrade, and I decided to pick some of our oranges.  They've been ready for picking for more than a month now but the funny thing is, even after almost 9 years here, we still love to just look at the oranges and lemons on the trees....it is still a novelty to have citrus fruit growing so abundantly in our garden!!

So today I had a little helper!  Olive, my little Sleepy Berry, came to help me.  And she really was a great helper!  She went up the tree, pushed each orange off and down they fell into my hands!  She even brought her little cat friend with her to help out!

What a team!!!

"These oranges are bigger than MY head!"

And then she rolled them along to keep them all together for me! (which is quite a task for such a tiny girl!)

Three lovely fresh oranges, all in a row!
