Some Chat n Snap purchases.....and gifts :)

When I was at the Chat n Snap, I realised that I'd concentrated more on the 'chat' part than the 'snap' part.....which was fortunate for my wallet, but not so great for my dolls.  Several times I headed in the direction of the stalls that I wanted to look at, only to get sidetracked and end up forgetting where I was headed!!!   But I have to say I don't really have any complaints,  it WAS lovely to meet up with people I've only spoken to on line before!

So I made very few purchases, but what I did buy I'm very happy with.

Firstly I managed to nab one of Sarah's lovely Vintage Sasha outfits.  I chose this pretty coral dress and shorts sets and decided to team it with some striped socks (instead of the white ones it came with) and brown Ruthsdolls shoes.  I would like the dress with different coloured shoes so will need to invest in a different, more appropriate colour, at some point.  Even though Nuria attended the CnS with me, she still managed to be the first to try this outfit out for size :)

I bought this set from Dolly Doodles, Lindt tried it for size and is happy with the pale pink as she thinks it suits her colouring:

I also bought one of the DD gillets and a beanie hat, both items of clothing are being modelled by Emilio, who looks super in red and they go really well with his grey shorts and 'Granada' tee shirt:

I got some gorgeous pressies too from lovely Sasha friends.  I've not photographed them all yet but did change one of my girls, Millie, my first Sasha, into this lovely 'one off' Ruthsdolls set which was a generous gift from Steve.  Doesn't she look pretty in this!

I will hopefully take more 'gift' photos this week and share them asap :)

My chocolatey girl Lindt!

What's is life without a bit of chocolate?  A bit less fun me thinks, so I thought I'd share my chocolatey goodness with you, Lindt, my 1960s Gotz slate eyed brunette.

Outfit by me, shoes by Ruthsdoll.

Bertie finally gets some new duds!!!

Poor little Bertie, he's been here for months now and it wasn't until today that I finally finished an outfit for him....talk about neglected!  I don't know why it's taken me so long to get motivated into sewing something for him, I just find the babies a bit of a challenge.  I love looking at other peoples photos of them, I even like looking at this little fellows face as he sits on my Sasha shelf, but I had no urge to sew for him.  However he is now the happy owner of a set of new clothes and wanted to show them off to you.  He even has a hat....although it's not really the weather for this type of hat, when he saw the little fishes I'd decorated it with, nothing would deter him from putting it on right away!!

Bertie likes to play with his friend Stewart Little!

And he particularly loves his cousin Lindt!

Socks on the beach.....

Well not quite on the beach, after all I don't want them to get all sandy!  But here we are at the coast and I've just listed more socks on Etsy!  I hope you'll take a look.  I think I'm going to take a detour now and do something else rather than socks although I do have some baby sized ones to list in a few days....but I feel like I have socks coming out of my ears at the moment!!!

I've got some ideas for outfits I'd like to make for my shop, plus I have some commissions that I'd like to start on too, so watch this space, as they say!

I've had quite a busy time this week, what with one thing and another.  I had my first mammogram which I was dreading, having heard horror stories about intense pain and bruising, but I have to say that it wasn't half as bad as I was expecting!!!  In fact the worst part of the day was all the driving!  I decided to drive home from the coast in the morning, leaving hubby and the dogs here, then making and eating lunch with my son Brendan, then driving another 25 minutes to the hospital, then back home again, then back down here to the coast in the evening!!!!  The weather wasn't that nice either, with rain, dense fog/low cloud and high winds so it wasn't exactly a relaxing drive.  The motorway is very high, through the mountains and the wind wanted to push me across lanes if I wasn't careful!! Thankfully though I was safely back here again in the evening.  And two little stowaways came down here with me!!!!  Yes, my two Gotz slate eyed girls from the 1960s, hid away in my bag as they didn't want to be left at home again!

And so that this isn't just a boring post about socks and driving, I thought I'd just add a few photos of them that I took today!  I was playing with the light and trying out something different!!! (please excuse the stray hairs!)

Incognito!

Lindt has been flouncing around the house today saying that she wants the rain to stop.....it has rained since yesterday and the sun only came out at about 6.15pm this evening!!!  She doesn't photograph well inside, but I wanted to share some photos of her all the same.  She got a new outfit yesterday and wanted to model it for you!

The sunglasses were her choice....hence the 'incognito' title.  She is such a Diva, but I so love this girl!  She has the loveliest brunette hair, all thick and silky and the poutiest face!!

Lovely yellow beret is by Hattie of Hats with Hattitude, which is located in the Sasha Village.  Boots by Ruthsdoll, sunglasses from Blythe and outfit by me!

As Sweet As Chocolate ... and called Lindt!

My son Brendan came down to see us here at the coast today and, as usual, brought our mail with him!  I had five packages, so a lovely lot of dolly things to open!

I've received the deep brunette hair for rerooting Bailey, plus Brendan kindly brought all I need to make a start on her too, bless him!  Another packet contained 4 lovely berets by Hattie plus a Sashapotamos tee shirt that I bought in Dee's after sales from her Chat n Snap.  A third package contained a Prince Gregor wig from ABCeta in the UK.  I have washed and conditioned the wig because although it is new, it had a very strong musty smell to it.  It is currently drying in the kitchen and smells so much nicer already!  Two pairs of handmade glass eyechips were next...they are for my favourite Blythe, Heather Sky who is customised by me.  I hope that I can insert those this week too.

My biggest parcel was a lovely new doll!!!  I first saw her on Facebook in early September, and admired her photos.  The owner, a lovely lady in Switzerland, wrote saying that if I were interested, she was prepared to sell her.  Sadly, at that point, she was beyond my reach.  I always try to stick within my dolly budget and will only spend what I have in my paypal account, so had to decline, even though the lady was more than happy to hold her for me and even offered me layaway.  However, although I did decline, I told the seller that if, and when, I had enough money, if the doll were still available, I would certainly be back in touch with her!

So earlier this month, I had enough and contacted the owner and sure enough her lovely girl was still available....I secretly believe that she had 'held' her for me, or at least hadn't made any effort to sell her elsewhere, because I'm sure she would have easily found a new home!!  And so here she is and I love her!!!  I have called her Lindt, just like the Swiss chocolate, because of her beautiful thick shiny brunette non falling hair!!!!!! YES, NON falling!!!!!!  I'm so happy!!!  She arrived in her brown corderoy farm pants, white blouse and a cute cardigan to keep her warm on her journey.  I added the lovely beret by Dee's Hattie, stripey socks and these boots which are a trial pair that  I made last week.  I only used some faux suede this time but am planning on making my pattern 10% bigger and using soft leather and real suede for them next time.

I know I'm prejudiced but isn't she lovely!!!
