I am having another small clear out to make way for a new doll....or three! And so the following girl is looking for a new home. She is a Fairyland Mini Fee Chloe in tanned skin, with a beautiful custom faceup by Caroline of Viridian House in Scotland. She is resin, fully jointed, 40cm tall, slim ball jointed doll. She has the 'cutie' legs and medium sized bust. I am asking what I paid for her $600 plus postage, but am open to offers! She is lovely but I admit that I prefer really young looking girl BJDs. Chloe will travel nude and bald to her new home but I will include random eyes. Please excuse the dusty eyes in this photo!! The shame!!!!
You might recognise her dressed:
Also on the dolly front, I did a bit of sewing last week and Brodie, my Iplehouse BID Bordy, was happy to be the recipient of the dress. I used an old Sasha smocked dress pattern and reduced it by mega amounts...(goodness knows how much, I've slept since then! ;) ). I used a thick cotton fabric for the main body of the smock and used a 'shabby chic' design quilters cotton for the collar and cuffs. Unfortunately the sleeves are a bit too long but I'll adjust the pattern next time. I'm sure Brodie will grow into it!!!
Finally for today, a few photos from this mornings walk. We found another new route which took us even higher up into the olive groves and then walked back down and then along the beach which was deserted except for a neighbour swimming with her two dogs.
Someone has been busy making a circle of stones in what are actually the abandoned 'footings' of an apartment block facing the beach.....
And finally, a small little house in ruins, which is located in a field nearby. The 'house' is tiny, made up of just two rooms, one is approx 2m by 2m, with a small archway into an even tinier room. At the back (which is the front in this photo) is a largish stone horse trough. And the wall on the right of the photo is part of a water depository. At one point there was obviously electricity and running water to the property, but it has all gone now.
I hope everyone has a lovely week ahead and thank you for stopping by!
Hugs Sharon x

Emily....a little bit spoilt perhaps?
I don't know what it is about this particular doll but Emily, my Goetz Happy Kid, who came to me secondhand (admittedly almost brand new in box) from Ebay, has fast become one of my favourite dolls! She has such a lovely face and is really nice to sew for. Being bigger than the majority of my other dolls, I can use fabrics that wouldn't be any good for smaller dolls, such as this knit fabric which was a gift from my friend Anita in the US, and with which I've made Emily's latest outfit.
The dress is a basic smock style with three quarter length sleeves and I added red and white striped leggings and a Liberty cap in plain red knit. I love sewing in knit fabrics...which is funny really because when I first started sewing I hated knits as my sewing machine tended to 'eat' them, now they're definitely my favourite fabrics. I just wish that more patterned knits were available to purchase locally as I like to feel the weight of the knit before I buy and that is very difficult with buying on-line!
Anyway, without further ado, here is Emily modelling her new outfit which she seems to be very happy with. We went into the 'campo' yesterday to take these and the air was filled with the scent of wild mountain thyme....lovely!!
The usual abundance of photos as I can never choose which to keep and which to discard!!!
Because we were high up, we got a good view of the sea in the distance. It was very calm.
Another abandoned watch tower...
I hope everyone had a great weekend and hope the week ahead is good for you....and for those of you with cold weather and snow, please keep safe and warm.

Teddy plays in the sand....
I took Teddy to the beach on Monday morning as he'd been a good and patient boy whilst I've been sewing and enjoying my BJDs! He has some new sand toys so he insisted on taking them with him and he had a great time building sand castles and playing with his new truck. I got this perfectly sized truck with several spades and some sealife shapes all in a little plastic string bag for just 1 euro! Teddy was delighted with them. He already had his bucket and spade (again came with several digging implements, also 1 euro) so he had plenty to play with in the sunshine. And...he kept his clothes on this time, even though it was really hot and he'd have been much more comfortable without them! Such a funny little boy!
The sand on our local beach is quite dark, though not as dark as it appears in my photos.....I took the photos with the rising sun behind me, so as to catch the natural light on Teddy.
Somehow he managed to get sand all up his nose!!

Life's a beach.....
I finished sewing an outfit today that has a 'nautical' theme to it...well the fabric of the top has anchors on it, does that count as nautical? I thought I'd take Wren down to the beach to photograph her and was glad I did. The beach was completely empty and it was really lovely just sitting there listening to the waves. It was a bit windy so Wren fell over a few times in the sand and her sand in her hair and a bit windblown but I think she enjoyed herself.
Wrens hair ribbons were tied nicely before we got to the beach but she soon had them hanging down!!!
I was a bit worried that she'd ruin her lovely JJ sandals but they're made of sterner stuff and survived her jaunt on the beach!

Wren has such a dreamy look in this photo!

Siesta time.....and another beautiful sunset!
No dolly news again today, although there are several packages waiting for me at home, so there will be lots to 'show and tell' once I get my hands on those. So I thought I'd share a few photos that I took yesterday. We had another beautiful sunset....I hope no-one's bored with sunsets, but I can't resist running outside with the camera when I see such gorgeous colours! But prior to that, I actually managed to get a photo of all 5 dogs looking at the camera!!!!! So I just had to share that here too....it's not often I can get all of them to look at me at the same time!
Poor hubby, he is the human cushion, which is, according to dogs, the best cushion of all!!

The beautiful colours of nature....
Last night I took some photos of the sunset as the colours were so pretty. I thought I'd share them here as I've not taken any dolly photos for the last week.
I hope you'll enjoy the beautiful colours of nature as much as I did.
