Zwergnase Juniors....

Somehow, having always said that I only wanted one Zwergnase Junior, I seem to have ended up with six!!!  Dee (of Sasha Village), herself a fan of these dolls, asked me to show mine altogether, so I've taken some photos today to share....and thought I'd add them on here.

Here are the six girls all in a row: (Left to right: Simona, Avery, Brit (re wigged), Violet, Galina and grumpy little Anuschka.

And here they are by year of release: (L to R: Avery (2017), Galina (2017), Violet (2016), Simona (2013), Anuschka (2006) and Brit (2006).

Of the girls in my group above, all but Simona are wigged and all girls have hand painted eyes and faces.

The earlier girls are slightly smaller than the later ones, and as far as I can see, this is only due to the necks, which on the girls since 2016 are a little longer.  I don't know if this is because they are actually made longer or because the neck actually sits higher.  Either way it is more noticeable when the dolls are undressed.

Here are some closeups of the girls:

This is Anuschka from 2006.  This used to be my least favourite sculpt until my friend Jenni talked about her girl of the same sculpt.  I kept looking at her and that was it, I was lost and this little lady came here in November.  I love her!  I love her grumpy face and her unruly fluffy hair.  I think I might call her Annie.

This is Avery who is one of the new sculpts for 2017.  Avery appealed to me as soon as I saw her face, she just looked so bossy!  The set of her chin, her very slight frown and those pursed lips said it all to me!  This outfit is her default one and is very cute on her, not something I would have chosen for her but it does seem to suit her personality!

Next up is Brit who is from 2006.  I have re wigged her with this Tibetan lambswool wig that I made especially for her.  I thought that it was her default wig that I was struggling with but no, I am still struggling with poor Brit.  I think she might soon be looking for a new adventure in another home!

The next little girl is Galina, she is also from the new 2017 line of Juniors.  She is another that I fell in love with straight away and seeing her in the flesh has just made me love her more.  She has the sweetest little face, quite serene at times but then at others she looks very sad.  I hope she's not sad though!!  This outfit is her default one but soon I will make her something new to wear.

This is Simona who I prefer to call Simone.  Simone is from 2013 and I used to have her red headed sister but decided to re-home her and invite Simone to come and stay here instead.  I love this face.  She is another sculpt that sometimes looks incredibly grumpy but then at other times looks like she is about to laugh.  I think this is what I like about these dolls, the fact that with just the slightest movement of their heads, a tilt this way or that, they come up with a whole new expression on their faces that you just weren't expecting!  Simone is the only one of my girls who has rooted hair.

And finally here is Violet who I call Leoni, she is from the Spring Collection of 2016 and the moment I saw her so I knew she'd have to come here.  I love her face, she really does have a serene look to her, like she knows all the wonders of nature but hasn't yet shared them!  (Yes, I'm nuts!) I love her curls (although this is her second wig as her original went very dry on the ends and Zwergnase replaced it, although I had to pay for the replacement!).  I have added small freckles and more blush to her face as unfortunately her face paint didn't appear to be sealed and her blush wiped off!  I really should have sent the doll back when the company asked me to but by then I was quite attached to her and decided to just order the new wig instead.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Zwergnase Junior girls and reading a little bit more about them and their 'personalities'.

I wish you all a very happy week ahead and hope wherever you are, you are dressed for the weather and keeping safe.

Big hugs Sharon xx

  1. You have a wonderful Zwergnase group! I have Dunja and Josef now, and they are awesome. Although Josef and Dunja have the same bodies, to me Josef seems a tiny bit larger, but I'm not sure it isn't my imagination :-). Maybe it's the neck like with your dolls, I'm going to take a really close look now! I really enjoyed looking at your pictures and read more about the different dolls. I'm a big Zwergnase fan, so it's always great to see beautiful pictures of these wonderful dolls!

    1. Thank you very much for your nice comments J.J. Do you go on Facebook? THere is a nice small Zwergnase group on there, it's great to be able to chat about these dolls because they're not so popular as other dolls for some reason.
Yes have a look at your two, you might see what I mean. I know that when I got Violet last year I was surprised that she seemed to have everything the same but seemed taller and it was her neck, it doesn't sit as far down into her body as the other older girls.

    2. I don't have a Facebook account, but it's nice to hear that there is a group! I'm going to undress both my dolls and look very closely to the differences :-).

  2. Thanks for taking the photo of all your girls together... I didn't realise quite how the numbers had increased ! That does seems to be the problem when you find a doll you like, you then find a few others in the same collection. I fell in love with the 2017 girls Galina and Avery when I first saw them on the group but so far I have managed to resist but you are making it hard! as they look so nice along with the others!
Even I like Avery's bossy boots face ! although I just cannot find it in my heart to get a truly grumpy one Lol
    enjoy the week ahead xxx

    1. You're welcome Dee. It was about time I did so as I'd been meaning to for ages. I really don't know how I ended up with 6 of them, as you know I only wanted one and I did in fact manage to maintain that goal for ages and ages!! Oh well!
I didn't think the grumpy one was for me, but now I love her!!

  3. Happy New Year to you! Thank you for showing us your lovely dolls, it was a nice way to start the week! I had my first Zwergnase doll this Christmas, Ivanca from 2009. I first came across her from the excellent review from the Toy Box Philosopher. She can look like a bit of a grump, but look again and she's got a slight smile on her face! I absolutely love her! When I compare her to my other dolls she looks like she could easily spring to life, even though she doesn't look like a real girl she has a spirit about her. As you can tell I am really taken her with her and will definitely be getting another one. I'm not on Facebook either so it is really nice to see photos of them, especially in the sun! Many best wishes

    1. Thank you Stella and the same to you! So you got your first Junior and like most people who get one you had 'that reaction' to her! So many people have said to me that they almost expect them to say something to them because, although as you say they are not totally realistic, there is something about them. I know when Violet came I kept looking at her for the very same reason, I swore she was waiting to say something, but only when I wasn't looking!
Ivanca is lovely and I too read the review that the Toy Box Philosopher did, I'm sure she has helped Zwergnase's sales with her reviews. I really like that sculpt too. I might have to adopt Brit out and get a different girl instead....as I like even numbers ;) that's my excuse anyway!

    1. Thank you Barbara, I agree with you, they certainly have character :)
Some are gruff, some grumpy, and some sad...but their faces seem to change every time you look at them...I think this is why I find them so interesting!

    1. I know what you mean Ronny, I was the same with them at first, I couldn't see the attraction. However, I decided to go for one and well, as they say, the rest is history! Now those little Muller Toddlers, I have three of those and honestly, the hands are very much in keeping with the rest of them when you see them in the 'flesh' so to speak!

  9. What a splendid assortment of dolls, and so beautifully dressed Sharon. They have rather unusual expressions, from sweet to grumpy, I can understand how easily this collection could even grow further. :)
