Zwergnase Junior Miriam....

This young lady arrived today and I'm really impressed with her!  She is Zwergnase Junior Miriam but she is the bigger size of 55cm (the regular Juniors are 50cm) and has a very similar body to the smaller girls.  I've noticed one difference though, she has a better neck joint in that the join is actually up the top of the neck rather than at the bottom, this means that she looks better in lower necklines....you can't see the join!

I love her pouty face, and like all Zwergnase dolls, her expression seems to change with just the slightest tilt of her head!  It's uncanny really!

Her name will be Jo as she reminds me of a friend of mine called Joanne.

I took a few photos of her in a new dress I made for her arrival.  Because I was working to just photos there are a few things I will change about my pattern.  I saw this photo:

And thought I'd try to recreate it for Miriam.  I would make the patterned part narrower next time and definitely try making the pockets lower, although I'm not sure how that will work as I still want the same dress length.  But all in all I'm pleased with how the dress came out!

Jo wanted to show you her collection of things found on the beach, she particularly likes the pieces of glass that have been washed smooth by the sea!

Thanks for visiting, I hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

Hugs Sharon x

  1. Hi Sharon!
Your Jo is very sweet. I like how her eyes are wide apart and her cheeks are high and round, she has a lovely face.

Great job on the tunic dress, I agree that the front panel could be slightly narrower, but it's very difficult to do with dolls tiny shoulders. I have had a similar problem with one of mine, when I post it you will understand what I mean. All in all, I really like the tunic dress, it's different and very stylish . . . well done you! :)
    Big hugs,

    1. Thanks very much Sandi, I'm really pleased with her :)
Yes, definitely that panel should be narrower, I will adjust my pattern for next time. She will certainly need more clothes as I don't have much in this bigger size. I'm glad you like the outfit though :)

  2. Hello! Beautiful tunic dress! I remember from my childhood, that almost everyone had something like this during the summer days. Even my grandmother! And Jo looks so adorable in it.
    Hugs! :)

  3. Hi Sharon! I agree, that tunic dress is absolutely adorable, as is little Jo. She really does seem to have quite a range of expressions throughout the different photos you took of her. What a lovely doll and I am always impressed with your creativity and your sewing skills! I absolutely love her little red shoes as well. Jo looks like she is really enjoying the sunny weather and the beach. :-) Xx

    1. Thank you Farrah, I'm happy that you like her and her outfit! I agree, I find this is quite common with Zwergnase dolls, they really do change expression with just a slight tilt of their heads!
