A Little Bit of Sewing....

Just a short post today!

Last week I did a bit of sewing for the Boneka Tuesday's Child sized dolls.  These dolls are designed by Dianna Effner and are all vinyl with five joints.  They are also almost exactly the same size as the Yosd sized BJDs so I have a lot of patterns that I can use!

I made these two outfits for a friend and they are winging their way to the UK as I type.  Sorry for the poor quality photos, they were taken on my iphone.

However, before the outfits left I tried them on my two Fairyland Little Fees, and despite the Little Fees being slightly slimmer in the torso, I think the fit is good on them too :)

The girls actually look a bit sad that I wouldn't let them keep the new clothes, don't they!  I guess I'd better get sewing and make them something new.....as if they haven't got enough clothes already!!!!

Apart from that, a couple of new BJDs are in the pipeline but that's for another post.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and that the weather is good where you are, and hope the week ahead is even better!

Big hugs
Sharon xx

  1. Both outfits are just adorable and look great on both doll types. The Fairyland girls do look a bit sad especially the dear little brunette girl. With that expression, I would find it hard not to sew more just for them. We had great weather this weekend but it is raining and getting cooler once again for a day or two. Then it will warm up again which is wonderful! A great post and sending you big hugs!. 😊 xxx

    1. Thank you very much Ginger, I like them on both types of dolls but I have to admit that my favourites are the BJDs, I love all sorts of dolls but they are my first love if I'm honest!
We have had lovely weather now for a few days, actually since last Saturday, so I'm hoping that it's here to stay now! Keeping everything crossed!
Big hugs to you too xxx

  2. Hi Sharon! Love both the outfits they are gorgeous, you do such a brilliant job of your dolly clothing. I didn't realise the BJD's were both Antes, the tan one looks quite different, did you do her face-up?

We finally received some rain, the garden was looking quite dry, so as much as I hate the cooler weather, the garden was very grateful. :) But we have more warm days ahead so I will enjoy them while it lasts. Going to see "A Wrinkle in Time" tomorrow.
    Big hugs,
    X

    1. Thank you very much Sandi, it's really nice of you to say so. Yes both girls are Antes, my normal skin girl, Fiona, still has her default faceup although she has been with me for 9 years now and was actually secondhand when I bought her!!! And my tanned girl came here three years ago new from Denver Doll Emporium and she has a custom faceup by Vainilladolly. I love her faceups, I wish I could do something like that!!!
I too hate cooler weather as you know, but sometimes we just have to put up with the rain because it's so important, but it would be better if it just rained overnight! LOL
I hope you enjoyed the film :)

  3. Theses are adorable! Those FLFs have the cutest little expressions. I love their clunky feet and I really like the brunette. :) I especially like the lighthouse outfit with the stripped capris under her skirt. So cute.
The weather here is still quite cold and not going above 4 deg C lately. We woke up to freezing rain and ice this morning! The tulips are trying their hardest to emerge, but the weather it not making it easy! Spring better get here soon! ;)

    1. Thanks very much Farrah, glad you like them. I agree on the chunky feet, they seem to balance up with the bigger heads, don't they!
Wow you're having chilly weather, I hope it clears up for you soon.

  4. The lighthouse pattern is just adorable! Both outfits look great on both sets of dolls, so I understand why your girls didn't want to give them up.

    1. Thank you Ursula, I like that outfit best too I think. I still have some more of the lighthouse fabric so I will probably make something else with it again soon as it's such a nice summery theme.

    1. Thanks so much Niina. Yes, I'm a bad dolly mum, they don't get to keep a lot of the outfits but they are lucky in that they do seem to have an awful lot of clothes here LOL
