Dolly Day Barcelona - 2nd June 2018 (Very photo heavy!!!)

As most of you will know, I went to Barcelona for a long weekend so that I could attend the Dolly Day Barcelona on Saturday 2nd June.  I arrived there about midday on the Friday and was to meet my friend Sue and her husband on the Friday evening as we were staying at the same hotel.  Sue lives in the UK and we have been friends for about 11 years now, having met through our love of ball jointed dolls and the Den of Angels BJD forum.  However, as I was travelling by taxi from the hotel to the airport, I had some frantic messages from Sue to tell me that her flight had been cancelled due to bad weather over central Europe!!  I felt ever so slightly panicked at the thought of being there on my own, but hey ho, I'm a big girl and didn't let that stop me getting out and about on Friday afternoon and evening and getting to the Dolly Day event hotel the following morning before Sue arrived on Saturday lunchtime!

Anyway, I was going to add lots of text to this post but am hoping that the photos will be enough as there are so many of them.  I will try to tell you who the dolls are made by, although I admit that some I cannot remember (so if anyone can help or recognises the dolls or artists, please leave a comment below and I can amend the photos!)

I'm sorry that there are so many photos and that the quality of them isn't great but I only took my iphone, my regular camera was too heavy to carry as I only took hand luggage!!!

Please grab a cup of whatever you fancy, and enjoy!!!!!

The centre of the venue was filled with displays of dolls owned by attendees.....I don't know their owners so I cannot help with much info on these.....

The two girls below, facing the camera are Volks dolls.  The girl sitting down is definitely Toppi as I had one of these myself some years ago....

Volks MSD Toppi....

This is definitely a Peaks Wood girl but I don't know the sculpt name....

Two cute Dal girls and their bear pal....

I don't recognise these girls but think the big girl might be from Fairyland, looking at her hand sculpt...I believe the tiny is a Luts Tiny Delf Alice in tan.

A group of tinies from various BJD companies...

Very detailed cloth dolls....

I think these girls are from Fairyland....

A pink haired sweetie from Lola Palacios of Atelier Momoni here in Spain....

The girl with brown hair is by Spanish artist Nuria Torras of Merrydollround, the mint haired girl is by another Spanish artist, Laura Garijo, of Irrealdoll the red haired cutie in front is by Atelier Momoni....

A group of various sized BJDs....

This big girl must have been warm.....

A little group of gorgeous Pullips....

Two sweet Blythe girls in their Sunday Best!

Two biggies!

Me with Sandra, the Catalan artist behind Little Cosmos Dolls......

A selection of Little Cosmos Dolls, I love these and have two on preorder!!

One of my favourites, Robin, by Little Cosmos Dolls....

Another Spanish artist, Mishi's Doll....

These very cute and unusual creatures are by Fuego Fatuo Creatures Cabinet....

These two gorgeous dolls are painted by the Spanish artist Under The Fern....the big girl on the left is Quimera V.1, by Spanish artist Nimphaery Tales Dolls....., and the girl on the right is by Little Cosmos Dolls.....

I love this girls freckles, she's so pretty....

The following photos are from the stand belonging to the French artist behind Youpladolls
Her sculpts are incredibly beautiful!

These little cuties are from Aileen Doll

As are these colourful little Dragons.....

And Griffons....

Three tinies modelling clothing by Little Miercoles of Barcelona....

These next little tiny jointed animals are from the company Cocoriang and my goodness they were so incredibly cute looking!  They reminded me of nicer, more well made, Sylvanian Family creatures.  The stand was so sweet looking with little displays and 'room boxes'....very tempting!!!

More cute girls on the Atelier Momoni stand....

Another pair of very well dressed Blythes.....

The next few photos are of the Charles Creature Cabinet stand....Charles Grimberg-Stephan is an artist from The Netherlands....Charles designs these little fellows and I believe some of them glow in the dark!

This little one was obviously a little bit peckish....I hope she shared with the baby though!

I love this little Chimp, with his sweet face...

Another pretty pink haired Pullip....

I thought this girl was gorgeous but I have no idea who she's by.  She's a biggie though, I love her faceup....

These amazingly decorated nymphs are by Les Belles de Jour Dolls,

Very elaborate outfits for taller BJDs, but sorry, I cannot remember the name of the designer....

BJDs by Nanyalin of  Magic Mirror Studio...

The next three photos are doll modifications by Doktor Krow who is known for his faceups, modifications and aesthetics....the details on the dolls is amazing!!!

I spotted this lovely Blue Fairy Tiny Fairy May in 'baked skin' on an other stand, she is my favourite of the Blue Fairy sculpts and I love this skin colour....

I believe this is also the May sculpt but the 'sleeping' version in normal skin....

I should know who this is but for the life of me cannot remember!

Two wonderful baskets of little Engendritos by Irrealdoll....

This little tiny aqua haired girl is Enoki....

And Laura's latest sculpt, Annic...this one is Laura's own doll and not for sail, or I might have snapped her up!!!

Two tinies, one with a mermaid tail, by Merrydollround...

And another with her unicorn horn....

And finally a little human one.  These are a great size because they fit Blythe clothing and shoes but their eyes are tiny, 4mm I believe!!!

This sculpt, by the same artist, is called Fang and is Super Dollfie size.....

Another big girl by Merry Doll Round....

Some great 3D printed creations by Walloya Morring from Russia....
The tiny fox was amazing!

Lovely ginger cat.....

Very detailed skeletons...

Isn't he cute!!!

Furnishings and haberdashery items to suit miniatures.....

Some gorgeous steampunk creations by Que Tienes en el Armario here in Spain...

Some great resin dolls by Aimerai Designs...

Beautiful furniture and clothing for Blythe sized dolls, I believe these are by Na Lua....

These little coats are so beautifully made....

Wonderful cloth creations by Basati Dolls....

Lovely phoenix fellow!

Cuddly sloth.....

  3. Wonderful photos, and on my screen, their quality was ok.
I always believed BJDs are not for me - but some of those could make me weak - so it's good the event was VERY far away from me!
    Thank you for sharing!

  7. Oh thank you Sharon! It was lovely to return to the blogasphere and see all this spectacular eye candy. :) I wish we had doll events like that here. It would have been a real strain on my wallet had I been there, so many lovely dolls and with my impulse shopping, I would have been lucky to have the fare home!!

I love Robin, and hope you bought her as I would love to see more photos of her in the future.

    Big hugs,
    X

And happy that you enjoyed the photos, it was a great event and meeting people who I normally only speak with on line was super too :)
I do indeed have Robin on layaway, hopefully she'll be with the faceup artist at the end of July!
