All this talk of Autumn.....

.....has made me look at my kids and think that I'm mean to leave them still in their summer wear!  But it's still so warm here that it seems a shame to dress them in autumn clothing.....they'll get so hot and bothered!!!!

However, all the talk of berets and the lovely photos, has made me want to follow suit,  and so firstly,  yesterday I crocheted one for Lyric, however, I'm not the worlds greatest crocheter, it ended up looking rather like a tea cosy!!  So no photos of that yet! LOL.  But today I sewed one for Millie and a pair of trousers to go with her short smocked dress that I made last week.  I really should stick with sewing rather than crocheting!!!!

Millie, my first little Sasha girlie!

  1. Millie's looking very on 'Trend' with her blue beret, goes well with her top and trouser's. She looks lovely in it .
Do you actually get some cooler weather? or will that me more when you leave the coast and head back inland?

    1. Thanks very much Dee, yes she's well on 'trend' at the moment!! I do like her in shades of blue!
We do get colder weather when we go home, although I just spoke with Brendan and it's 34C in our town today, whereas it's only 29C here, but then we are only across the road from the sea so we get the sea breezes sometimes. In our town during the summer it reaches well into the 40s, which is why we like to come down here, but in the winter it can go as low as zero sometimes....though only at night and thankfully not very often. And we had snow one day last winter! Down here on the coast, you can generally wear short sleeves all through winter during the day but the nights are a lot cooler.

  2. See I just said whatever you made your girls for Autumn would look great and then what do you know I click on your blog and sure enough a delightful outfit! If it hadn't been for the fact that I was so cold last week my girls wouldn't have changed either....you are so lucky it is so much warmer where you are.

    1. Thanks very much Lorraine! I'm glad you like it. I like these colours on Millie, I think it brings out the blue of her eyes.
We are very lucky to have the warmth, I just can't 'do' cold any more!!!!!

  3. Absolutely delightful! Millie looks, as the old saying goes, 'good enough to eat!
By just adding a beret (adore this simple pattern) and trousers a pretty Summer smock becomes a super Autumnal outfit.

  4. Another beautiful outfit. I might just have to hop in my car and come and get some sewing lessons from you. I am your opposite -much better at the crochet than the sewing!

    1. Thanks very much Penny, glad you like it! Your crochet is lovely, mine leaves a lot to be desired. The problem is, I can do the stitches, but I can't seem to make things with those very stitches. I'm the same with knitting, I just have this mental block when it comes to following a pattern. But the worst part is, the pattern called for decreasing....and I didn't have a clue how to decrease in crochet!! So I just winged it and ended up with a tea cosy!!!!
We'll have to trade, you crochet or knit for me and I'll sew for you!!!!!
