I immediately changed her eyes from the blue acrylic that she came with to a smaller sized deep brown glass. A lot of BJD companies send their dolls out with eyes that in my opinion are too large for the sockets, and no white is showing. I find that unnatural and a little bit disconcerting, so every one of my dolls has an eyes change when they get here!! She has also borrowed a red faux mohair wig until her own wig comes. I did get a wig with her in mind, but the colour isn't right for her tan. Another wig for the overflowing wig box! Oh well, I'm sure it won't go to waste! Outfits by me, shoes from Ebay.
The two girls together, Little Miss No Name and Fiona...
Some side by side closeups of the two girls faces....
I love how the Little Fees can squat down so naturally like this!
And touch their faces and cover their eyes....
Actually, Fiona is upset, she thought that me getting the tanned Ante that "I'd wanted for ages..." meant that she would have to go....awww poor little thing, you're not going anywhere sweetie!
I think these two are going to be firm friends!
Now, I just have to think of a name for the little newbie!
Thanks for reading! I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far!
She's adorable. The tan skin color is very nice and natural looking. The picture of them sitting is my favorite of the lot. That is the one that really let me know that they would indeed be the best of friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Julie, I love the tan resin, it just works so well for me :)
DeleteI hope they'll be great friends....and yes, it looks like they're getting there already!

I love their posing and your photos are so creative, bright and cheery. What a cute new little doll you have...I think she looks so sweet with her big brown eyes. It's nice to have the two of them as they seem to interact so well together! I'm looking forward to seeing more of her!
ReplyDeleteThank you Farrah! For a long time Fiona has been an 'only child Little Fee' although I have bought and sold several others other the years but they've just not worked with her so I thought she'd remain on her own but another Ante in tan was what I was really wanting to go with her!!

She is so sweet Sharon and looks so cute with her new sister Fiona. I'm glad Fiona was told she's staying poor child, It must be a worry for these poor things when we start looking at other dolls! :)
ReplyDeleteI love their outfits too, so nice and up to date. They look very realistic and I love their pose-ability, I can see one of these little girls in my future.....slip slip... :) xxxx
Thank you very much Dee, glad you like them! Yes, she was worried there for a moment until she was reassured by the new girl and me.....I have no idea why she thought I'd want the new girl to replace her....she should know by now that whilst all the others came and went, she has been the 'constant'....!!
DeleteI too can see one of these in your Village!!

Absolutely adorable! What a brilliant birthday gift.
ReplyDeleteThat squat pose is so impressive. They really must be perfectly engineered to balance like that!

What a lovely series of posts! It's been a while since I commented, so I'm playing a bit of catch-up here. First of all, I love the clothing you made for Louise's three girls. Each doll has such a unique style and the clothes you made not only fit their individual fashion sense to a tee, but were also absolutely lovely. How often do you take commissions? I adore each and every piece you made for those three lucky girls and already know three of my girls who would fit those styles perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSecond of all, Millie is just beautiful. I have enjoyed and admired Shelly's repaints for a while. She does a beautiful job adding such sweetness and character and depth with each work of art. How fortunate Millie was to benefit from Shelly's work, and how lucky you are to be able to give Millie such a wonderful makeover. I really wish that Frido/Trendon had done more of the blonde hair/ brown eyes in their doll line, as well as the blue eyes/ black hair combination. Red hair and green eyes is also a combination that I would have loved to see. At any rate, congratulations to you and Millie for the beautiful Shelly Spa treatment.
And finally, your new Little Fee, is absolutely gorgeous, and so incredibly sweet! I agree with you on their natural child-like look and the wonderful natural and varied ways that they can pose. They are probably some of the sweetest most expressive dolls that I have ever seen. A very happy birthday indeed, and the two little girls look so lovely together. Poor little Fiona. I am glad that you and her new sister managed to ease her fears. Wow! They are so cute! I keep going back to admire them. What little sweeties! Congratulations on your adorable new daughter, and all the other wonderful things that have happened in your life lately, doll-related and otherwise.
Thank you again for the pleasure.
Elisabeth and the Dolls at Fern Woods
Thank you so much Elisabeth for your lovely message and for coming to visit my blog again, I'm glad you're enjoying the posts. As for my commissions list, I generally just add people when they ask but at the moment I have about 30 names waiting on the list and because most of those people want several things, it is a slow process. However, if you ever want to have your name added, then just let me know and I'll do so. My email address is dambuster0662@gmail.com but please be warned that the wait is loooong! Although I try my best to keep sewing on an almost daily basis, I do have to take a break sometimes or it becomes a bit boring, as I'm sure you'll appreciate.
DeleteI'm very lucky to have been able to send Millie back to Shelly for new eyes, I love Shelly's work and have three girls painted by her now. It just made more sense to do that than sell her, because she has lovely hair, but I just found her eyes to be a bit boring. I agree with you though, the combinations you mention are lovely and it's a shame that there are not more of them.
Thank you also on the Little Fees, I do like their posing and their sweet faces, I hope you'll see todays post....another change of wigs and outfits, although the outfits have since been removed and sent to the US!!! My poor girls don't get to keep anything for long! :)
Thanks again for visiting Elisabeth!!

Their poseibilities brings out their two different characters superbly here. 'Bestest' friends forever!
ReplyDeleteYes, they really do, don't they Kendal? I like that the girls are the same sculpt but are different personalities, funny how that happens! I am sure they will indeed be bestest friends :)
