Finding her feet.....or a new body for Olive!

Olive, my Jerry Berry Sleepy Berry,  has needed a new body for a while now as her original one had got very loose and she couldn't stand up without falling forward or backwards at the hip joint.  So I bought her a new body from Japan and it arrived about two weeks ago.  I fitted it and once she 'came around' from the 'operation' she was fine....of course she's had to get used to her new 'mobility' again!!!

Me: "What's up Olive?  You look a bit worried!"

Olive: "I feel dizzy....my legs don't want to play with me today, they want to rest!"

Me: "That's your new body Olive, you've just got to get used to it, that's all!"

Me: "Come on now, let's get you to your feet and get those new little leggies working for you!"

Olive: "My legs feel like I have eaten too many jelly babies!"

Olive: "Wooooooaaaah!  It feels funny mum!  My knees don't want to be together anymore!"  (Such concentration on that sweet little face!)

Me: "Now how does that feel?"

Olive: "Bit better! At least my nose doesn't hit my knees now, does it!!  And look!  I can do this!"

"And this!"

"I can lean like this!"

"And both hands out!"

Me: "Careful Olive, I think you're getting a bit too adventurous with your new body!"

"Aaaaaah! Oooops!  I think you were right mum!"

Me: "Well while you're down there, you could check out your new ankles too!"

Olive: "They're great mum!  I can point my toes out like this!!!"

Me: "I think that's enough now for one day, don't you my dear!  You don't want to over do it now, do you!"

Olive: "Yep, I think you're right mum, I'll just sit down again on my new chair and have a little rest!  Thank you for getting me a nice new body mum, I really 'preciate it!"

Ahhh now wouldn't it be good if we could get a new body when the old one was faulty!

Thanks for reading my little 'story' of Olive's new body!

A stroll along the Prom....or Teddy visits Torrox Costa!

Today we went for lunch and a stroll along the promenade at Torrox Costa which is situated between Torre del Mar and Nerja, Torrox Costa is also the site of the remains of a Roman necropolis and villa located immediately west of the lighthouse, the remains are clearly visible even today.

I decided to let Teddy, my Gotz Toddler Erik, come along with us as he has been a particularly good boy modelling for me last week!  He borrowed his baby brother's dungarees (which were a little bit tight!) as somewhere in the middle of modelling he seems to have lost his only pair of shorts!!! Oooops!  So I know what I'll be making him when I next get a moment! :)

Excuse so many photos, I just love this boy to bits! :)

Brian said "tell HER to wave at the camera!"  I said "It's a BOY!  Teddy, give us a wave!"

This cannon is situated near the lighthouse, there's no plaque or anything but it looks like it's been hanging around there quite some time!

The good thing about being small is when your little legs get tired, you can have a nice snooze in mum's handbag :)

Brian says "Take a photo of HER in front of the lighthouse!"  I said "how many times do I have to tell you, he's not a girl, he's a boy!"    "Looks like a blooming girl to me!" he says!
Men! Honestly!!!!!

This is a working lighthouse which was completed on the 1st May 1864.  It has a height of 39 metres above the sea and 26 metres above the ground.

The lighthouse was built using one of the towers of the ancient Castle which was destroyed by Napoleon´s troops in the early nineteenth century. In the walls you can see remains of a Roman villa with numerous mosaics, which we have yet to visit.  Next time we go to Torrox we plan on visiting the Roman remains as I believe they are particularly well preserved.

The sweetest little profile.....

Besotted!

Little Teddy the Toddler, is absolutely besotted with the new girl, Cora, who's yet to tell me her name....everywhere she goes, so he is two steps behind her.  He tells me she is "Zotic" which I think means "exotic"!  Though where he gets his ideas and 'big' words from I really don't know....

I have to practice taking photos of Cora because as I expected she is more of a challenge for me with her very dark skin and eyes.....I thought by leaving the photos until the sun had almost gone down would help, but I think I left it too late and as a result needed flash!!

Fortunately Cora is a very easy going sort of girl and has no problems with letting me photograph her over and over again, neither does she seem to mind this little ankle biter following her around everywhere!

A flea market find....

Today is my hubby Brian's birthday and I suggested we go to Fuengirola to the big flea market there (I certainly know how to treat a Birthday Boy, don't I ;) ), well it's technically in a place called Los Boliches, and takes part every Saturday.  You have to get there early as parking is a nightmare, plus the Danish restaurant where we like to have breakfast only serves it until 11am.  I've shown the breakfast from this restaurant on here in the past but here it is again......a lovely feast to set us up for the market!!!

So after our breakfast and coffee, we started on the stalls!  I always look out for dolls and anything dolly sized that I could use as props, but usually come home empty handed.  That NP Sasha for €10 wasn't there again today.....just the usual biro covered Barbies, ugly footless Bratz and hollow plastic Nancys!!  However, on one stall an unusual but cute 'fellow' caught my eye so I haggled with the seller who told me the doll was 'special' (yeah right!!) and got the price down to €12 which I thought was reasonable.  I thought the doll was a boy but when I got back to the car and had a look, I realised it's supposed to be a girl as she has two plaits pulled up the sides of her head and tied with a bow under her headscarf.

The doll is approx 20 inches tall and made completely of felt but has a wire aperature inside.  She is nice and clean without any odours, thank goodness!  The hair is made of faux fur and stuck on and the face is painted or maybe printed on, I'm not sure which.  The clothes are not removable and are quite well made with all the seams finished that I can see.  The backpack straps and the belt are made of leatherette.  The only thing missing seems to be the belt buckle.  There aren't any labels or tags on the doll or her clothing, so I have no idea where she comes from or whether she is from a company or handmade by an individual.  She stands up on her own really well.  I have no idea where she will fit into my doll collection, she is completely different from anything else I have, but I thought it would be nice to bring her home!!!

So here she is, I hope someone might be able to enlighten me about her, any information would be greatly appreciated!  I thought she looked sort of Austrian or German, maybe Swiss?  But really she could be just a home-made Spanish doll!  Who knows!

 Choco seemed quite interested.....

The second doll I found is currently still damp after having her hair washed so I will show you her another time!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Wren amongst nature....

Here is Wren modelling a new outfit that I finished today for a commission, comprising of my new pattern for a all-in-one or 'body' with puffed sleeves, ra-ra skirt, hairband and socks.
I thought she looked so pretty in these colours that I had to share.  And of course she gives the flowers a run for their money when it comes to beauty!!!

For Sale - Sasha is looking for pastures new....

I have for sale Millie, my blond Sasha from 1971.  I bought her from Shelly of Sasha Dolls UK in November 2012 and she had already been restrung and her original elastic is inside her torso....I have to say that I've never looked though, but this information was from Shelly's description when I bought her.

Millie has lovely hair, beautiful and soft, with a centre part to her crown, it is two toned blond.  The dry ends of her hair have been professionally trimmed by my own hairdresser, and she washed and conditioned it at the same time....she did a lovely job of it.

She is a clean and fresh little girl with no chews or staining.  She has one tiny black dot near her eye which is within the vinyl and not a stain.

Millie will travel nude to her new home and I'm asking £190 plus postage from Spain.  I will post worldwide.  Paypal payments only.

I have added a lot of photos below so you can get a good look at her, so if you are interested or would like any more photos then please email me at dambuster0662@gmail.com

As you can see, Millie is a great clothes model...

Gorgeous hair, shown from the back:

Still incredibly long, only the tiniest bit professionally trimmed:

This girl could be the next Harmony Model, don't you think? ;) (Showing my age now!)

Perfectly styled fringe:

Wears a ponytail very well, wouldn't you say? :)

Beautiful profile :)

Poses well too....

Never complains about working in the heat!

Very good with animals!

Enjoys relaxing too!

What more could you ask for in a Sasha! :)

Thanks for looking!!  And have a great weekend everyone!
