Blythe Con Europe 2017.....Part Two.....Photo heavy!

As promised (although a day late), here are some of my photos from Blythe Con Europe, which took place last Saturday, here in Malaga.  I have to admit that I'm not completely sure of who customised a lot of the Blythes in my photos so unless I do know, or it's pretty obvious who owns the stand, I will not put much narrative into this post.  I hope you enjoy seeing the photos, but I warn you, there are a LOT of them!!!!

Sam, my tiny Elfdoll Hana Angel on the Jerry Berry resin body, came with us....

As did Hershey, my Simply Chocolate Blythe (customised by me).....she obviously couldn't stand the pace though!!!!

As we went into the venue, there was a large board which was being spray painted by a local graffiti artist.....here it is in the first stage.....the end result is at the bottom of this post:

There was a beautiful model on display which was made by the very talented Nanuka from Bilbao here in Spain, flickr photos of her work can be found here: Nanukafactory

Below two cute custom Blythes on the I Have Wings stand....

The middle girl below is wearing a beautifully intricate mask made with beading and ostrich feathers....

I cannot remember who this little one is, except that she has a Pure Neemo body in size small.  She has a very cute custom face.....

The lovely girl below with beautiful reroot, was on the Pomme Pomme stand....

 Jolly Roger Dolls stand....all looking very cosy in their hats....

I loved these 'helmets' with their ears and flowers but they were 85 euros each...beautifully made though with fine tiny stitches....

Note the sweet little bears on this stand, I think they were made from soft mohair...

I particularly loved this middle girl with her quirky mouth and sticky up pony tail!  And her little Minion friend....

The below stand is Papa Toronjo, another Spanish artist.  He was telling me that his dad carves the Blythe faces and he paints them and then dresses them.....their stand won the prize for Best Stand with it#s nautical theme and big wooden boats!  

This funny little fellow was on the Banochita (Blanca Diaz) stand, he's a Midi Blythe head on a taller jointed body, although I'm not completely sure what type of body.  His face has been carved with an open mouth and teeth!!  He looks full of mischief!

Harry Potter themed display below, how cute is this!!

The stand below is showing The Little Mischiefs (Dolly Treasures).  This is owned by a lady called Eileen Lam who lives in the UK and takes the most amazing Blythe photos and captions her photos with rhymes. She then has them made into books which she sells.  Typically I didn't know any of this until after the event of course, or I'm sure I'd have been tempted to buy one of her books!   Some of her work can be seen here

Here are the raffle tables.  There were an incredible amount of prizes including quite a few customised Blythe dolls!  To give you an idea, the raffle started at 5pm and the final prize number was called at 7.55pm!!! 

Another friend, and the organiser of the event, Malagueña, Olga Ramirez, also known as Vainilladolly, had a stand with her gorgeous custom Blythes for adoption....I just love her style so much!

The stall next to Olga's was selling these cute little Sonny Angels....I was tempted but I really don't want to start collecting something else!!! 

The next photos are from Zozo of Zolala who I've known forever but had never met before.  Zozo is from the Netherlands and makes very detailed outfits and hats for Blythe.  I knew Zozo from her days making incredible outfits for BJDs, and still use some of the patterns she produced many years ago.  It was lovely to finally meet her after all this time!!  Her stand was my favourite for all it's little details....

 

Here's Zozo below with my Blythe.  What a lovely lady, we chatted for probably about an hour.  I hope that we meet again one day!

I loved these soft fuzzy hats and the gorgeous tan girl in the middle modelling one!  Apologies though, I cannot remember the maker of them!

Another sweet bunch of customs....I wonder what's been said that has shocked the little girl on the right?!

Three customs with teeth....I think I might have to try doing a toothy custom one of these days!!!

I loved these trendy girls in their snazzy sunglasses.....I was sorely tempted but at 55 euros a pair.......

This little girl was one of my favourite customs that was for sale.  I think she has the cutest face.....and SOLD, but no, not to me!  

Another couple of cuties that went home with new mums or dads from the event....I really like the hair on the girl on the left, a great reroot....

Bimba Bambolina had some gorgeous room settings and props for sale, these are just a couple of samples of her work....

The little girl below looks like she's saying "No, I'm quite comfortable staying here, thank you!"

I wonder why these girls look a bit displeased?  Maybe they don't want to part with their beautiful flowered helmets!

My very lovely friend Barb, Little Miss No Name, showing her M for Monkey doll on the left and her friend's girl on the right.  These little dolls are all made of cloth with a posable armature inside, their faces are handpainted....

I've known Barb for many years but we've never met before as she lives in Madrid....it was wonderful to finally meet her, she's as lovely face to face as she is on line! 

Another stand with a nautical theme.  I loved the little fabric fox and his sweet mice companions....

There were loads more stands that I just never got around to photographing, and masses of great stuff to buy.....it was a super event!

Finally here is the completed 'graffiti' painting of Blythe....and lastly me showing that sometimes yes, I do get in front of the camera, if somewhat reluctantly!!!!

Oooh you can just about see my Blythe tee shirt that Brian made for me, showing Hershey :)  and my bulging bag of goodies!!!!

Blythe Con Europe 2017....Part One!

Last Saturday, the dawn broke, bringing with it the long anticipated Blythe Con Europe, at the Palacios de Congresos in Malaga.  I have to admit to having feelings of both excitement and slight trepidation because I was hoping to meet friends that I'd previously only spoken with on line!

The Palacios de Congresos in Malaga is just about 30 minutes drive from us and we've attended quite a few events there in the past, but never a doll event, so I really had been looking forward to it.  When we arrived the queue snaked quite a way from the building although it was a tickets only event.  There was lots of excitement in the queue, with people holding their Blythes and chatting away to old friends and making new ones.  Finally the line entered the building and we were greeted at the entrance desk by the event organisers who gave us our goody bags, wrist bands and one free raffle ticket.

The goody bags were great!!!  The illustration on the bags were designed by Olga, Vainilladolly, who was the main organiser of the event, and is a friend of mine. She is a brilliant artist, her work is beautiful and this design was no exception.  Below you can see a part of the design and further down you'll see the bag with all the things that I brought home in it!!!

The goody bags were really exciting in themselves, they contained soooo much stuff!  There were things that related to Spain, such as a fan , there were sunflower seeds which are eaten by the sack load here in Malaga, and then there were lots of sweets, a very cute badge, note pad and folder all designed by Olga, Vainilldolly, a very cute pen that looks like a medication capsule!, soap, a plastic egg full of little rubber dinosaur toys for dolls to play with, fruity lip balm in a little 'Russian doll' type container, a small jointed teddy bear made of denim, a tiny paper doll sheet with clothes to cut out!  Another sheet to cut out and make a doll in a box for your Blythe, dolly sized hair decoration and bead bracelet!  Soooo many things, I'm sure I've missed something.  And everyone had a lanyard to wear which was designed to look like the pull ring that changes the colour of the Blythe dolls eyes!

Anyway, there were 96 stands full of delightful things to buy, and oh my goodness I spend waaaaay more than I intended but my excuse is I'm helping the Spanish economy! LOL.

Here are my gifts and purchases.  The big bar of Milka chocolate was a gift from my dear friend Barb who lives in Madrid and came down to Malaga for the event.  She's such a lovely lady, it was great to finally meet her!  The blue and white striped socks were a gift from TTYA of South Korea, as were two very nice and unusual metal book markers which you can just see lying behind the egg at the front right of the photo:

My biggest purchase was the lovely little tanned Enyo who is made by the Spanish artist Laura of Irrealdolls.  Enyo is approx 17cm tall and is a fully jointed resin BJD.  He has a beautiful face up and as the artist pointed out to me, a quirky eyebrow!!!!  Below he's wearing his default outfit but I will take more photos of him in something less cosy soon!

Because this post took me longer than I expected, and it is now bedtime for me, I'm going to leave it here for tonight and tomorrow I will post photos of the actual event.  So please drop by tomorrow for masses of photos.....yes, I took photos of EVERYTHING!!!!

Another Dolly Week!

I cannot believe how quickly the time is passing and I've been neglecting my poor blog again!  I have taken quite a few photos recently but just forgot to share them on here, although some have gone on Flickr.  Apologies to those of you who've already seen them on there, I hope you enjoy seeing them again!

Firstly I made this outfit for the Little Darlings, I made it with a view to selling and showed it to my friend before putting it on Ebay.  Of course then it never got that far because she immediately wanted it!  I'm pleased with how it came out, I love this girl in blue and white, being my favourite colours too!  The socks are pale pink and white stripes because as you know, my dolls are never 'predictable'!

And because I couldn't resist, here are a couple of closeups of my sweet little Rory, who is painted by Lana Dobbs.  It was raining as I took these photos, that fine rain that quickly drenches you, but I thought she looked so real with the raindrops in her hair!

Like most doll collectors, I'm always on the hunt for props for my photos and was pleased to find this umbrella in a shop in Malaga, which is just the perfect size for Mouse, my Dollstown Seola who is approx 45cm tall.  And of course it's perfect for her to protect her pale skin from the sunshine!  I made her some slouch boots using soft leather in two different shades, cream and dark brown....she's very pleased with them and wanted to show them off with her umbrella.  The umbrella, by the way, has a fully working metal mechanism and is actually supposed to be used as a shade for smart phones!

Next we have some photos of Sam, my Elfdoll Hana Angel, who is a tiny 20cm tall.  She came with me to Fuengirola last week and was totally prepared to help me with my lovely breakfast at the Danish restaurant at Los Boliches.  She brought her own tiny silver knife and fork!!

Later she enjoyed a drop of Dandelion and Burdock that Brian, my hubby, bought for himself at the Iceland supermarket.  I had never drunk this before and having tried it, I don't think I will again!!  Tasted a bit like cough mixture to me!!

Whilst in Fuengirola we spotted a little bit of England!!  We aren't sure what it was all about but these structures, which appeared to be all made from metal, were just being put in place on the side of the road.   In the background you can also just see a very attractive model of what we think is supposed to be Saint Basil's Cathedral in Red Square, Moscow.  We laughed at the 'telephono' sign!  The box was locked and empty! 

A rather strange looking Lady Liberty....but someone worked hard to make her, she even stands on a plinth like the real one! 

And finally in Fuengirola, the lovely statue on the roundabout, which is not a temporary structure, it's always there.  Spanish roundabouts are generally really attractive, whether because they're covered in lovely well tended flowerbeds, olive trees, fountains or, as in this case, nice statues.   One day I might travel around taking photos of roundabouts to share with you....there are some very pretty ones around here :)

Finally for today, I thought I'd share a photo of the local lake, Lake Viñuela, which despite being very low due to the fact that we've had so little rain over the last few years, is looking very pretty.  This is the actual colour of the lake, I've not enhanced it in any way!
