Here she is looking out the window as the sun started to go down:
And here is her full outfit from the front. She has teamed it with some lovely red leather boots by Ruthsdolls:
Unfortunately the kilt is slipping down a bit because poor Ellory doesn't have any knickers on.....she's a bit of an exhibitionist really....I don't know where she gets it from!!!! But I will get around to making her some underwear one of these days, especially now that the weather is a bit cooler!!!
Ellory likes to 'travel', she is, however, just an 'armchair' traveller, but she enjoys herself all the same. (I found this on a photo site, so thought it would be fun to use her photo on here!).
Yes, it is a bike!!! (in case you didn't guess!! ;) ) I've been wanting one for ages! Well originally I had wanted a moped or scooter but we found that the insurance was really high, so a push-bike it is! I also got a helmet and a gel seat! I'm delighted with it all and will keep it down here at the coast as it is much flatter. The bike is called a 'town bike'....or as my son called it "an OLD LADIES bike!"...blooming cheek! But I know what he means! When I look at it, I'm reminded of Mrs Gulch, the neighbour of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz....see what I mean? (Please excuse all the fallen leaves that are waiting to be swept up....I don't even have the excuse that I'm in Kansas and there's been a tornado, do I!!!!)
Now all I need is a big basket on the back for the Chihuahuas!!!
Love the bike, it looks like it will be a really comfortable bike to ride, sitting nice and upright and yes do get the basket for the Chihuahuas! I have a bike with a basket on the front which I kind of envisioned having Percy sitting in the front...but it hasn't happened yet - in fact I don't think I have even been on it for over a year!
ReplyDeleteLove Ellory's little outfit, it is really sweet. Oh and don't mention underwear! My girls have been complaining about a certain lack in that department.
Now that I've lowered the seat it is much better....I could only just touch the tips of my toes on the floor and that didn't feel safe to me!! It has got more comfy each day that I've ridden it....or is it that my bum is getting immune to the pain!!!
DeleteThanks on Ellory's outfit, and she is still knicker-less I'm afraid!!!!!
Thanks Lorraine! Well I have to say that it is nice and upright but I'm still getting used to the saddle which is not as comfy as it might appear!!! The first time I rode it I got off and my legs felt like jelly but it has got better. I did think about having a basket but I was thinking "what if the dog were to jump out and get hurt?" that is the only thing. Then I thought about riding slowly along with one dog next to me on a lead, but hubby is against that, and I realise it was a stupid idea on my part, even though I wouldn't have gone on the road, the dog could run under my own wheels. So I think maybe I'll keep them separate from the bike!!
ReplyDeleteThanks on the outfit. Yes, why is it the last thing we think to make? After all, it is more or less one of the first things we put on each morning....well speaking for myself of course...LOL ;) !!!
Ellory looks so nice in her new kilt and your jumper and socks! Love the travel photo! I really must find out how to do these things, they look so good and would be handy in my stories :) I bet there are some who wished they done that first!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a lovely black Pashley princess bike, with the big basket on the front that the DH bought me for my 40th, just a couple of years ago ;) , I have not used it since we moved here, which is bad but I really should, maybe in the spring, the basket would be a good place for a couple of Sasha's and a camera!!!!
:) :) How long ago Dee??? A couple of DECADES ago :) :)
DeleteGood luck with the bike...I like my Mini Cooper too much to swap it for one :)
Note to all...
Can someone start a fundraiser to get Sharon's Sasha girls some pants?? :)
LOL, you two are terrible!
DeleteYes, I've been looking for an appropriate basket or one of those tartan bag thingies that go on the back....my dad had one on his bike...but haven't been able to find one. Though Brian did remind me that my dad had one back in the early 1990s and maybe they don't do them any more!!!!
Yes, all donations of KNICKERS greatly received! In fact I could do with some new ones myself too!!! LOL
Delightful pictures as usual, and love that little kilt. But hey, you could always make some of that stripey material into tights or leggings and then it wouldn't matter about underwear! Jude D
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Jude! Yes, I should have done that but I made the stockings first and then the kilt....the poor girl does need some knickers though, just in case there is a high wind...or she wants to climb a tree or something!!!!
DeleteYet another delightful outfit. Pity though about the lack of knickers.....certainly a case of 'Plus fours and no drawers' or 'A fur coat and no knickers' as the two old sayings go.
ReplyDeleteOnly the other day I was admiring the black and white tartan kilt that Michelle's Mitzi had on to go to Dee's Chat n' Snap.
Love the bike. I bought myself a shiny purple mountain bike when I had to take early retirement from teaching due to ill health and used to use it quite a bit to get some exercise and fresh air.... but unfortunately I don't seem to ride it these days but keep it in-case there is a petrol strike and I need to get to our local village in an emergency.... (as would be unable to walk there.)
LOL yes, I remember my dad using the 'fur coat no knickers' expression!!! I daren't say who about, just in case she reads this blog! And the other one was 'red hat, no knickers' I think!!!!
DeleteI do like kilts, I had several when I was younger and used to wear them to work in London with smart jackets and stuff....I thought I was the bees knees...and no, not all black and hairy like bees knees really are, Ronny, in case you wondered!!
Thanks also on the bike, I'm very happy with it.....although I've been lazy over the last couple of days and not been out on it!
I absolutely love Ellory's kilt! (And those little red boots!)
ReplyDeleteYour new bike looks nice and comfortable; you'll be getting around town in comfort with that! :) I like the "old style" bikes much better than the new ones.
Thanks so much! Aren't those boots cute, I've just ordered a couple more pairs!
DeleteYes, I prefer the upright bikes too, they're much more comfy for me!!!
Lovely bike. Bikes are very common in Denmark but then we don't haver any mountains or anything like that. We do have hills of course but it's relatively flat most places here. Some years back we had a prime minister who rode his bike to work every day. Perhaps a trailer would be better for the dogs than i big basket. ReplyDeleteI love the outfit too. Very cute,
Don't worry Lene, I'll not be going up any mountains, that's for sure!!!!
DeleteI will have to take a look at this site...although to be honest, I doubt I'd take them with me, it would be too dangerous as they'd want to get out and be cuddled all the time! LOL
