Today is our wedding anniversary....

.....and so I thought I'd write a little tribute to my lovely husband Brian....after all, he puts up with a lot with me and my dolly addiction!

We've been together for 23 years but married for 9 years.  We got married in the Registry Office in Gibraltar back in 2005.....the very same Registry Office that John Lennon and Yoko Ono got married in!  Although I think theirs might have been a bit more glamorous than ours LOL.  Here we are inside, just the five of us.....back row left to right, our son Brendan, my mum, my brother John, and of course us in front! (Wish I'd not been so fat but can't change the past!)

I think apart from when I had Brendan, and when Brian and I met, this was the happiest day of my life :)

And here we are afterwards...still laughing, Brian makes me laugh all the time!

And here's some more photos.....as well as loving me, Brian loves kids and dogs too....can't be bad!!!!

Here he is above with our Yellow Labrador Heather, who was a 'reject' from Guide Dogs as she had a reluctance to work! LOL....she lived to the ripe old age of 15 and a half! :)

Brian used to be very good at woodwork and made me this little sunroom at the bottom of the garden when we lived in the UK.

Above, a day at the seaside with Heather and our 'guest', Lucy, a Curly Coat Retriever, who was the working Guide Dog of the MP David Blunkett, we used to look after her for him when he went on his holidays.

And below, who doesn't mind making a fool of himself by dressing up at work, all to raise money for charity!

And on some of our wonderful holidays in the past!

I hope no-one objects to my slushy sort of post, but I just wanted to say how lucky I am, and how much I hope for another 23 years together :)

Now...before he starts to moan, I'd better go and get ready to go out for a meal! ;)

See you all soon!

  1. Congratulations Sharon and Brian on your 9th wedding anniversary. You both look lovely on the day.Love your dress gorgeous colour.
It makes all the difference finding someone to share your life with and if they make you laugh well that's a big bonus and also sharing your loves dogs and dolls...okay he does not share the love of dolls but he's let them in the house without too much fuss!!lol
Hope you both have a wonderful time tonight and roll on the next 9 or should that be 23 !

    1. Thanks so much Dee! And thank you for the nice comments on the outfit. One of my neighbours is a seamstress and she made the outfit for me from a drawing that I did for her. I really liked the cross over front because I'd been watching Triny and Suzanna from the series What Not To Wear and they'd said that crossover fronts were better for big women!!!! I'm easily influenced. I had pointy shoes with high heels and clutch bag in a paler goldy colour....those shoes were real toe pinchers, I have to say! Anyway, I wore the outfit twice, once for the wedding and then the following February we had a proper 'reception' for 65 people with a proper cake and everything. I Just can't seem to find any of the photos, which is a shame. Anyway, on that night I managed to drop some olive oil on it DOH!!! Oh well, it's not really 'me' to be honest. I'm more of a jeans and jumper sort of girl if I'm honest!!!! :)
And you're right, he never really says much about the dolls, just raises his eyes heavenwards when he sees another arrive ;)

  15. Wow!! Such a lovely couple and all photographs are fabulous. Actually, I am also looking for unique venues for my parent’s vow renewal and looking to keep it a surprise for them. But everything seems to be so hectic to me.
