Darcie dances in...

It's taken me since Christmas to take photos of Darcie who was my Christmas present from my hubby.  Darcie is actually a Gotz Asian Hannah at the Ballet and is an approx 50cm (19.5-20 inches) tall, all vinyl play doll.  I had been looking at getting her for several months prior to Christmas and so was really pleased to receive her.  I have called her Darcie because, not only is she a little 'ballerina' but several times after receiving her, so I heard mention of the ballet dancer Darcie Bussell on television, so it was meant to be :)

I haven't made anything for her to wear yet so below you will see her wearing the extra outfit that these dolls come with.  They arrive wearing a cute pink ballet outfit and have a second outfit, plus shoes, aswell.  The pink boots are from My Doll Best Friend in the UK and the hat is actually knitted for premature babies and was bought at the market in Torre del Mar, down on the coast!

  1. She is lovely. I've been tempted by the black dancer and this one too. I thnk I prefer them to my brunette Hannah because the outhes are more realistic but the stock photos don't do them justice.
Maybe.... when the boiler is repaired/replaced... I love my Gotz girls.
That shade of pink looks great with her complexion. She's a girl for brights.
Thanks for showing her off, even if you have re-opened my 'I wants' again!
    Love,
    J x

    1. Thank you Jenni, glad you like her! I had been looking at her for months, spoke with Maxine at My Doll Best Friend and searched out photos on the internet but just couldn't make up my mind, so when Brian asked what I'd like I went for her, plus she was from a doll store here in Spain, so easier for him to sort out!!!!! :)
I agree she's a bright colours girl, which is just as well, seeing as that is my favourite too :)
Sorry that I've re-opened the wants but they are good value and quality :) LOL

    1. Thank you very much jSarie!! He's a good one is my hubby ;)
As you'll have probably guessed I love bright colours so I'm glad that they'll look good with her slightly darker skin tone. I must take photos of her with the other two girls, I think they look really cute together!

  4. Darcey Brussell was one of our best known British ballet dancers in The Royal Ballet Company and is now seen on the Strickly Come Dancing panel of judges.
I always love our dolls when they are in dungaree outfits. Suits them to perfection.

    1. Thank you Kendal, I like this look on them too...they're like what real little kids would wear, aren't they!!
Yes, but she's not a Brussell is she? LOL....my husband would refuse to have her in the house, he hates Brussells!! ;)
She's a lovely dancer though, I really like her!

    2. Your Darcy is lovely. I believe Darcy's surname is Bussell not like the sprouts, so no danger of your husband taking against her because of the surname of the ballerina!

    1. Awww thanks Dee, happy to hear that you like her. Yes, I'm more than happy to have you all arrive by bus for a 'play date'....I have enough cups to go round, and I will make a lemon tart so we'll have something nice to eat too. Just wait until it's not so cold though, then we can play in the garden as my sewing room is blooming cold at the mom ent!!!!!

PS I want them in purple, are they yours or the dolls? I want them in several colours actually AND a pair for myself :)

  12. What a lovely husband you have. Darcie is very cute but 50cm? That's big! When you have big dolls you don't have room for as many. LOL I love the hat and the boots are so cute. The outfit is nice but I bet it isn't nearly as nicely made as you could do it. Lots of big hugs from Denmark. (Brrrr . . . we're having snow) Lene
