Little Cupcake!

Yesterday I finished the last outfit for my latest commission for a Sasha Toddler, this time for a little girl again :)  I hope that Angelina isn't getting too confused with all this gender swapping!

I used cupcake fabric for the skirt but because it's quite small, being for a small little body, it's hard to see the cupcakes....I added ric-a-rac, I think that's what it's called, it's that wavy edging stuff, and tulle underneath....the lovely lady this is going to particularly likes lots of details like that :)  The top has three cupcake buttons on the front, on a background of pink and white gingham...and the outfit is finished off with pink and cream polkadot socks!  The skirt isn't as long as it looks on her, it's the angle I took the photos at, plus it needs pulling up a bit at the waist....

Whilst I was at it, I decided to try the same outfit on my little Gotz Leah by Sylvia Natterer and it fits!!  The skirt is a little shorter on her because she is a couple of inches taller than the Toddler, but I think she looks really rather cute in it.  I might have to make her something now because she's not had a new outfit in forever!!  Poor girl!  Anyway, I was thinking that maybe, once Angelina goes home to her mum, I could perhaps use this little girl as a model for some Toddler outfits such as the ra-ra skirts sets!  What do you think?

"Why can't I keep it on Mum?"

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend everyone, and I hope spring is sprung in your 'neck of the woods'.   Tomorrow is a 'fiesta' here, el Dia de Andalucia....celebrations and green and white flags everywhere!!! :)

  1. Leah looks adorable in it. Are the body measurements the same? It would be great if they were so you can just add a cm or two on for leg length in any future orders.

Got your castanuelas ready, girl? Four verses of Sevillanas with Brian on the cards? The only dance everybody in Spain can manage - after a fashion and, in my case, a very strange fashion. Photos please!

    1. Thanks Jenni. Not quite the same, the Toddler has a bigger tummy but they're similar. Before I put Angelina's clothes back on I will have to measure the two of them and take comparison photos....I forgot to do that before, and that does help me a lot. I used to be so good at making clothes of all types of dolls using measurements but I've lost confidence in doing that nowadays, so it's best I keep a good record for the future.
I got mi marraccas out instead but it was chilly so I put them away again! ;) Seriously though, it was so quiet yesterday, I at least expected a few fireworks but not one was heard. Probably just as well though as the dogs hate them so much!
So I'm sorry but no photos......

I would wear them gladly myself. But I'm afraid, I'm sadly to old now.

I got those buttons on the coast, there is a lovely haberdashers there and the ladies are so helpful. They import nice things from the US, so they're expensive but I love them so have to have a few of their nice things in my button box! I like these buttons because they are furry too, all soft like flocked or something!!!

I think your own little girls would most likely wear spotty socks, wouldn't they! ;)
