Little Flower!

I was going through some photos of older sewing commissions that I'd done, and just happened to come across these photos of something I made for a friend of mine in the US.  She'd asked me to make a hat "like a flower"!  I wasn't really sure what she meant but we chatted about it and then it came to me!  I could make a hat of some sort with the dolls face making the centre of the flower...a bit like Little Weed from The Flowerpot Men.....for those of you too young to remember, it was a children's programme from my early(ish) years!! ;)

So I made up a bonnet shape then cut out individual 'petals', lined them and then sewed them to the bonnet.  I was really pleased with how it came out and meant to make another one for one of my own dolls.....of course that never happened!!  Anyway, I thought I'd show the photos here, being modelled by a Volks Yosd Tinatsu...who has since moved on to pastures new!!!!

These are old photos but I thought you might still like to see them!  Every now and again I like to take a stroll down Memory Lane and look through old photos of what I've sewn in the past!

I'm not sure if poor little Tinatsu looks overly impressed being seen in this funny hat...maybe that's why she moved to another home ;)

    Great hat !! shame about the ORANGE!!! lol What is it with people and orange? I just don't understand it myself? Now the Purple is a glorious colour and the hat marvellous ! I bet your friend was really happy with it .

    It's great seeing people 'old' photo's they maybe old to you but to us they are new! I love looking through my old photos and something will as you know show them again especially if I love them or if I think they may interest people, so get looking I bet there are lots in there we'd love to see!!       LOL yes, I forgot you hate orange Dee!!! I hope this means that you still eat your carrots though ;)
      Glad you like the design though, it's a funny hat but I had fun making it and was pleased how it came out!
      As for old photos, my goodness I have absolutely thousands of photos on my laptop, especially doll ones but also my animals, family and scenery....I just love taking photos and never seen to delete any of them!
      I was going to do another post of old photos, hopefully tonight :) I hope you'll enjoy them!

    I love your creative flower hat! Wonderful stripy and dotted petals and such cheery colors too. I can see a Sasha baby wearing one of these dear hats and looking like such a sweet flower that I would have to pick it! ;)

      Thank you very much Ginger, I'm happy that you like it. And yes, I could see a Sasha baby or even a Toddler wearing one, although the Toddlers hair might get in the way. I might have to try making one!

    I well remember watching 'Bill and Ben the Flower-pot Men' and little Weed with Chon during the late sixties.

      LOL that's it Kendal, just when I'd have been watching too, Chon is just a little bit younger than me :)
      I loved them and the Woodentops too....that spotty dog they had was too cute!
      I'm glad you liked the hat! Funny contraption really but that's the whole thing, isn't it, for it to be fun!!
