Bailey gets out and about....

On Sunday when we went to La Cueva de Tesoro, which you can read here, I took Bailey along with me as she'd not been out in ages!  I had every intention of photographing her in the cave but my bravado didn't last when I saw that we'd be touring the cave with a small group of Spanish locals.....

So she stayed in the car.  However, once we came back out into the sunshine again, she was released from her resting place (the boot of the car, poor thing!) and given the opportunity to stretch her little vinyl legs and get some fresh air.

Alongside the cave is an area called the Rincon de la Victoria Archaeological Park and it is a smallish area full of old olive trees and the ground is strewn with fragments of local rock.  I took some photos of Bailey around the park.  It was a beautiful warm day with the tiniest breeze from the sea.

Bailey sheltered a while in an olive tree....

And rested on the rocks strewn about the park....

After a while she realised it was waaaay too warm for a cardigan....

In the park there is a 'replica' of a wall of a cave, Bailey thought that would be a good place to have her photos taken, bearing in mind she'd not been able to visit the 'real thing'!

An attractive wrought iron bench was another spot to rest and take a photo or two....

Thank you for visiting, I hope you all have a lovely week :)

  1. You find the most gorgeous locations for your photos!

I really like those shots of her in the cave - there's something about her hair colour that really works with the shade of the stone walls.

    1. Thanks JS, I do try but being so apprehensive about taking dolls in public view really does seem to stifle my creativity LOL ;)

  2. Hi Sharon,
Looks like you both had a lovely day out in the sunshine, ours has disappeared altogether, pouring rain here today. It's a very pretty spot to take photos and Bailey is dressed beautifully. I take it you made her outfit. :)

BTW not being familiar with this doll, does Bailey have knee joints?
    Hugs,

    1. Thank you Xanadu, we did have a nice day :)
No, Sashas don't have joints in their knees and elbows, just the regular joints in shoulders, hips and neck....but I love them all the same ;)
And yes, I did make her outfit last year I think it was.

  3. I know that "Oh no many people are watching" feeling when attempting to take photos of dolls... I hope Bailey was not too disappointed as she couldn't see the cave. She sure looks as if she's enjoying herself in the photos you took! I like her dungarees, with those big pockets.

    1. LOL so many of us are the same Ursula, I just wish I could be different. I try to be, I try to think to myself that as my husband says, people are really not interested in what you're doing, their own lives are too busy to worry about mine, but I still don't feel comfortable doing it.
      Thanks on her dungarees :)

  4. Wow, I'm not sure if she's cuter with this wig of her new blonde pigtails. I just love her! I hope I someday get over my "taking doll photos in public" shyness (so I know how you feel!) as I love seeing photos of dolls out and about that are taken by other doll collections. How nice to just not care!

    1. Thanks so much Farrah, she is a cutie, isn't she? She has been through so many changes since I got her back in June 2013, rerooted twice, hair removed twice....but I still like her and enjoy changing her looks.
Farrah can you not involve the girls more in your public dolly photos and pretend that the dolls are theirs? I always say to my hubby that it would all be soooo much easier if I had a grandaughter!! ;)

  5. ....and there I thought that you had got over/mastered your shyness in photographing your dolls in public! Well, as that saying goes... 'We all now know what thought did!' Such a pity that Bailey had to remain hidden in the car's boot and miss out on all the fun. especially as she would have certainly been greatly admired by all in that awesome outfit...(plus she is one of my favourite of your dolls!)
(Especially like her her in that trimmed? Peggy-Sue highlighted wig caught up in those two bunches.)

    1. Well no, not quite Kendal, although I do try!!!
I'm glad to hear that she's one of your favourites of your dolls, she is certainly one of mine too, but don't tell the others! ;)
Yes, I love that wig on her too but I forgot to bring it to the coast with me so she came in the trimmed Jojo instead, and now she has the Pintucks one for a change :)
