Gotz girlies.....

I took some photos of my three slate eyes Gotz girlies to compare them.  I can see now that my newest girl, the blond Destin, has chubbier cheeks than the other two but that they really only show from a three quarter profile view.....from the front her face looks narrower.  Destin also has the most 'preserved' eye paint, although her lip paint is almost gone.  When I see them straight on like this,  I think Destin looks like a slightly younger child than the other two.  However, when viewing them in profile, I think they all look pouty and young looking!  I think Lindt, my brunette girl, is fractionally smaller in height than the other two but it's hard to tell as she is barefoot.  Another difference is that Destin and Lyric have bigger shoulders than Lindt...and definitely bigger than the English girls and boys.

Here's a closeup, with left to right, Destin, Lyric and Lindt...

And individually, closer still.   You can see Destin has quite large cheeks, as does brunette Lindt:

And here you can see that Lyrics cheeks are less pronounced:

Another close up of the three girls together:

And a full length of all three girls:

I'm very happy with these three girls, I now need to decide if I want to reroot Lyric or leave her wigged....decisions, decisions!

  1. Love these three girls and it's so nice to see them together. The red wig and style really suit Lyric and the little beret looks great on her. You can see why these gotz girls are so attractive to people, because of the differences in their face shapes, eyes etc. The trendens are gorgeous to but if you get ten blonde girls all together in a line there would not be a massive difference between them, until they were early with hand painted eyes.
Lovely to see these girlies Sharon I wonder if they'll acquire another sister or two !!! :)

    1. You've hit the nail right on the head Dee, it's the differences that I find so intersting.....no two seem the same, whereas with the English girls I often have to look twice because they are so similar. Having said that, I do like them very much too, but it's nice having the best of both worlds available to us, so to speak.
And I think you're right, I'm sure at some point there will be another one sneaks in when I'm not looking! ;)

  2. These differences are why I too love the Gotz girls as it gives them such individuality and character.
I think that most collectors usually start off with the basic Trendon dolls on account of their price, standard prettiness and uniformity but then move onto the Gotz and Frido dolls as a matter of course.

All the Gotz dolls have the wider shaped shoulders although luckily they still fit most of the Sasha clothing. Their feet are slightly larger too than the later 70s Trendon and 80s Sashadoll Ltd dolls so don't alkways fit the slightly narrower and tighter fitting manufactured shoes.
I also love the overall lightness in the slightly thinner earlier Gotz vinyl.

I'm quite certain that there WILL definitely be more than just these three! living over there with 'Sharon in Spain!'

    1. It's so funny that when I first saw the Gotz girls I thought they were quite ugly!!! And yet now, I just love them. I also hated the look of the no nose girls and boys, now I'd love one to come knocking on my door! I think maybe the next one with be a No Navel though.....that of course is all Dees fault, showing us her lovely girls, as she does!! :)
I didn't realise that they all had these wider shoulders Kendal! I suppose I've not actually had all three girls naked at the same time to compare, I just thought that Lyric seemed wider. I just love them all, shoulders and all!

  4. Oh so lovely..... NOOOOOO...... I can't have any just now. My current enormous family need more attention first, but I do want onr two ...oh, who am I kidding? .........a dozen or so, one day. All these wonderful photos are doing nothing for either my resolve or my bank balance!

Your three girls are all very different, even if you ignore the hair. They are beautiful and your close up is excellent as they are hard to show well in group portraits.

    Thanks for sharing them.

    1. Thanks very much Jenni, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing them, even if it has opened a whole new can of worms!!! ;)
I know what you mean though, my other vinyl kids could do with attention before I add new family members, but sometimes I just don't seem to be able to stop myself....do you think I have an addictive personality?!!!!! I think I can answer that myself and say a BIG YES!!!!

  5. I really like the red wig... BUT I'm veeeeery interested in a HOW-TO-REROOT-Picture-Story. Sometimes I see a doll with bad hairs but better price and I dont buy her, because I dont want her to wear aaaaalways a hat :0) Pleeeeeease ... do you see me looking like a little dog?!? :0) .... in German its called "Dackel-Blick" when children do this ... they normally get what they want :0)

    1. Thanks so much for commenting Saphira. If I do decide to reroot my wigged girl, I will take photos so that you can see. I was going to do that last time I rerooted a doll and forgot!!!
I will have to look up this phrase 'dackel-blick' or ask my husband as he speaks German.
