And here is what I came up with. The trousers are wide, almost 'Oxford Bags', now there's a blast from the past, eh? They are made from this lovely colourful and soft corderoy that I bought from Scandanavia a year or so ago. The tee shirt was actually one I bought recently from My Doll Best Friend in the UK, but as you'll see I've made some changes to it. It came blank with Velcro fastening down the back. I removed the Velcro and added metal snaps as I really don't like Velcro. I then cut out different parts of the trousers fabric and appliqued it to the teeshirt, I then added various tiny buttons and hot glue metallic dots. I'm really pleased with how it turned out! I think Sian will wear it for the Chat n Snap!
"Am I cute or what!"
Sian is beautiful and looks great in her new outfit. I am glad that even though she isn't a Sasha, you are bringing to the CnS (a bit like Lorraine taking Peggy Sue to the Sasha Festival in the USA - I wonder if Sian will end up trying to keep all those toddler in check at the CnS!)
ReplyDeleteLOL thanks DollMum but I cannot imagine Sian looking after the toddlers, she is more likely going to be looking out for the other KNCs that she hopes will be there after seeing photos from last year!! :) I think the toddlers would flumox her completely!!!
DeleteI'm glad you like her though, she is a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying having her....she's also nice to sew for, like the Sashas are, a good size. I've got a bit fed up with sewing really tiny these days, and if something isn't as enjoyable, I tend to find myself with a real aversion to it!
Love what you have done with the t shirt from my doll best friend, and those trousers are great! Big and baggy how I remember them! :)
ReplyDeleteShe'll be a hit in those at the CnS. My friend Kim with the many Kidz n Cats dolls cannot wait to see her, she's helping out on the day.
What wig is that Sian's wearing? I have just bought a waif they made need something like that... maybe :)
hugs Dee
only EIGHT days to go.....
Thanks so much Dee, I really enjoyed doing that. I do enjoy doing applique work on things, I find it very satisfying and need to make more. I did a tee shirt for my mum last Christmas and she loved it, I should do something for myself one day! And yes, I had trousers just like this back in the 70s, my mum used to make a lot of my clothes for me and back then I hated it, but I have to say that I was lucky as I had all sorts of outfits that I wouldn't have otherwise had!
DeleteI just hope that I can fit Sian in the hand luggage now, what with the Sashas and the Little Darlings, but I'll do my best. I want to put my camera in there too, along with some other odds and ends....I wanted to bring tins of olives but in the end it was like "Dollies/Olives, Dollies/Olives?" ..... Dollies won hands down!!!
Sian's wig is the Monique Gold Roxie in Nearly Black from Facets by Marcia.
Big hugs and see you next Saturday!!!

She looks VERY cute! Great outfit! Every time you post pictures of Sian, I think: "such beautiful eyes"! You made her so pretty and realistic :-). xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Night Owl, glad you like it. I know what you mean on the eyes, I think glass eyes win every time when comparing them to acrylic, and these ones are particularly nice......I'm happy that you like her new look :)

I am loving this outfit on her S!! She looks fab!! Beautifully put together!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ronny, glad you like her outfit, I'm very happy with how it turned out! :)

Sian looks fabulous in that outfit! I love the way the applique on the t-shirt turned out - the extra level of texture makes it that much more appealing!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, I'm glad you like it....I enjoyed doing it too :)

Now beginning to wonder IF there will be any room left in your suitcase to squeeze an actually Sasha Doll in?
ReplyDeleteHaha as if Kendal!!! My girls have already booked their space in my hand luggage, it's the others that will have to take what's left over :)

I know wht you mean. How was it that I was quite capable of saying, 'Perhaps for your birthdy,' or ' Wait and see what Father Christmas thinks!' to my human children, but some of the dolls have only to look hopeful and I'm putty in their hands! Sian is one of those dolls you just can't refuse to pander to...good thing she doesn't live her.
ReplyDeleteLOL I'm glad you understand Jenni! Are we all completely mad? If someone read this who wasn't into dolls, they'd really think we'd all lost the plot...or perhaps we have!
DeleteBut you're right, she looks at me with those big grey eyes and that's it...I'm a gonna! ;)

Wow, thus outfit is just fabulous Sharon! Sian is a lucky girl to be in your doll family. She looks great in these colors too. Thank you for sharing her photos. :) xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Ginger, I'm glad you like it...it was fun to make.

She looks so cute in that outfit! I love the applique and the colours. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Lynn....I am happy with it! I love this colourful corderoy from Scandanavia, I wouldn't mind getting some and making something for myself, but it would work out very expensive!!!
