A little infatuation....!

I thought it was about time I shared some photos of my lovely little blond boy.  I got him recently from Shelly in the UK and he is a 1969 Gregor Fair Pyjamas.   He has the most beautifully blue eyes.  I have named him Devlin.

Some of you may remember that my first Sasha Morgenthaler doll was actually a Gregor!!!  I got him from Ronny and he also was a 1969 blond Gregor Fair Pyjamas with lovely blue eyes.  However, he had a matt face and I found that I really preferred the non matt ones so after a few months,  I sold him to a lovely lady in the US.

However, as soon as he'd gone I missed him and vowed to replace him one day...and that day came a couple of weeks ago!  The original boys name was Devon and I was going to re-use that name, but decided to make it just a little bit different, hence Devlin.  The two boys are incredibly alike, the only difference being their 'skin'.

This little lad sometimes has to wear glasses as he has a 'lazy' eye.  But I think you'll agree that he is handsome both with or without his 'specs'!!

Someone else who's very impressed with our new little lad is my sweet little wider faced brunette from 1971 (who is still in need of a name!!).  She seems particularly taken with the little blond fellow and keeps following him around like a puppy!!  I'm not sure that Devlin is overly impressed though....he is at that age when he thinks that all girls are 'sissy'!!!

Actually, I have to say that he doesn't look THAT upset after all, does he?!!

  1. He looks very gentle and sweet-natured. I'm sure he secretly likes to play quiet games with the girls as well as enjoying more masculine pursuits with other boys.

    1. Thanks Jenni. I think he is really, I'm sure he'll get used to being in the minority here with the girls and maybe even get used to being kissed by this little brunette!!! Luckily he has a friend here in Alex, so he'll enjoy those boyish things too, as you say!

  2. He looks so handsome Sharon and I love him in his big dungarees and striped t shirt!
Also love the purple outfit that your wide faced girl, who needs a name , is wearing did you make it?

The photo's look so bright and summery, love :)

    1. Thanks so much Dee, glad you like him and his outfit!
Yes, I made the purple outfit some time ago for one of my larger BJDs, and I went through the dolly clothing box yesterday picking out things that might fit! This was one of them!!

  3. Devlin is lovely Sharon! I see he is wearing Devon's Tee shirt and sneakers :) The reason Devon's 'skin' was so matt is because you were only his third owner. The lady I bought him from had him in his box UNOPENED for 41 years! He was even still wrapped in his original wrapper in his tube, he had never ever been played with...I felt a bit sorry for him really :)
Your new girlie look fabs in her outfit...just like a real little girl. I like them dressed as children rather than in studio dresses and head scarves and stuff but that is just me :)

    1. Thanks so much Ronny! Yes, you're right, I kept the outfit that Devon came in because I thought it was cute....plus I'm lazy when it comes to making boys clothes!
I remember you telling me about the matt face and how he'd not been played with hardly at all, poor boy! I too felt sorry for him here because he just didn't get the attention that he deserved.
I'm glad you like the little purple outfit too. I also like them to look like proper little kids, I'm the same with all my dolls which is why 'fashion dolls' don't seem to stay here! I prefer them to wear clothes that they can go and play in the garden with, or climb trees or roll about on the floor!! Of course I do love those beautiful smocked dresses too....but I can't afford them!! And no, nice as they look, I'm not into the studio style dresses either.

  4. Devlin is very handsome and his new infatuated friend very funky in her modern girl clothes (perfect for next year's festival - if only we could all afford to go!). I like the studio style outfits and also the modern children's clothes, I am not quite so keen on Victorian frills (the really over fussy sweet sugary types). I'm lucky because I can smock (though I do hand pleating because I don't have a machine pleater). And modern outfits can include smocking (like the lime green top I made for my Florence earlier this year).

    2. Thanks so much DollMum, glad you like him! I like lots of different styles of outfits but if one has an old fashioned style on then I'd want them all to have the same style. So they all tend to wear more modern and casual. I am a bit OCD like that I think!! I'm not into the overly frilly stuff either, just too impractical for climbing trees and running in the garden! I love smocking and will try another dress one day, but for now I'm just being incredibly lazy and not doing anything much at all!! (Oh yes, that green top outfit was LOOVERRRLY! Really liked that one!)
