FOR SALE

Thursday 15 August 2013

Hello, my name is Sharon...and I have an ADDICTION!

Yes, it's confirmed, I'm addicted to Sasha dolls!  I was planning on being good this month, not spending any more of my money on dolls, but then just two weeks into the month and I've already broken my own 'rule'!!!

I think I may have mentioned that I was looking for a little Gotz girl from the 1960s, having fallen in love with Kendal's lovely blond 'waif',  I think called Sophie, so I'm constantly looking on Shelly's site, Ebay and anywhere else where one might pop up for sale.  A couple of weeks ago I saw a little 'waif' listed on Shelly's site, but the first few rows at the front of her hair had been given the 'budding Vidal Sassoon' treatment, cut off right down to the scalp.  But however much I told myself that I really didn't want a girl with her fringe cut off, I kept going back to look at her.

Finally today I made the decision....with lots of help, thank you, you know who you are!....and decided to go for her!!  So hopefully, she will be here by the end of next week!

Here she is, not my photo of course, it belongs to Shelly.....but I just had to share!!!

Isn't she sweet!!

    1. Thanks very much Dee! Yes, the comb over isn't so bad, in fact I think it looks like she is meant to have a hairstyle like that!! No, no name as yet but was looking for something German sounding, seeing as she is German....but I've not come up with anything I like yet!!

    1. Those rules don't last more than it takes for me to type them to be honest!!! Or even to think them! Oh dear, I'm a lost cause Nikola, I realy am! But I'm glad you like her, she is a cutie, isn't she!!

  4. The moment I saw that she was sale pending on Sashadolluk I knew that you had succumbed to the temptation in the end.... and this, I see, was then confirmed here.

Her sweet little face (which after all is the most important part of any Sasha Doll, will take your eyes away from the trimmed front area which can be hidden like it is now or with scarves, hats, head-bands and ribbons plus I know that you are planning to attempt a re-root in this area later in the year.

I'm certain that you won't regret this latest decision as these little Gotz waifs have a way with stealing our love and attention like no other Sasha can.
Can't wait to see what you decide to dress her in as I'm adoring your wonderful homemade outfits so far.

    1. I was going to write and tell you last night but our internet here on the coast, is awful at the moment, it's so slow....so now you know for sure that I'm a lost cause! Thank you for all your help in chosing her, I'm so glad that I am getting her. I'm always ruled by my heart and NOT my head, aren't I!!!
I have a feeling, from what people have told me, that she'll not be the last of her kind! Oh Boy!!!
I already have a little monkey faced no nose school boy on my wish list...he's been there a while though and can stay there for now!! I need to stop spending my money as quick as it comes in!!
I've got a few ideas in mind for her clothes but you know what they're like, they often turn up and then turn up their noses at what you offer them, saying "Don't even think about putting me in THAT!!"

    1. Oh dear, I think it is Lorraine!! There is no hope for me, unless I can sign myself onto a Sashaholics Anonymous course or something LOL! I'm sure she'll settle in, my other vinyl kids are very accommodating, we'll they've had to be, at the rate I've been adopting newbies recently!!

  8. Hmm. At what stage do we declare somebody has a Sasha addiction? Exactly what phase of Sasha addiction have I reached? I'm in danger of becoming one of those people who have to have psychologist sort out the mental problems and a gang of people come in to sort out the house. I'm a Sasha hoarder and suffer no guilt about this. I'll defend my home from Sasha sorter-outers to the death!
Your new girl is a sweety, Sharon. I saw her on Shelly's site but not until you'd bought her.

    1. Ahhh but if you knew ANYTHING at all about vintage Gotz Sasha dolls, you'd be aware that this is how she was painted back in the mid 60s when she was first made.
      Stick with what you know!
