Rerooting...On a roll!

After a very slow start yesterday, today I've been really working well with the rerooting of Emilio's head!  I put a few plugs into the fringe area yesterday but thought better of that, so today I've started at the crown and worked from there.  I'd say that I got about 20% done today, AND never broke any needles after the two I broke last night!!  This time I've been careful not to make the plugs too thick, and I have to say that's coming on nicely!  I hope it won't take me as long as it did last time to finish the other reroot!  The problem I have now is I just want to stop doing anything else and keep going with it, but I have so many other things to do that I'm going to have to be very disciplined with myself! :)  Oh and when he's finally done, the next challenge will be to cut his hair in a boy style.....I only know how to do one style, a bob, and that really isn't going to suit him!!!  I might have to take him to my hairdresser and see if she can work her magic on him for me!!

In the meantime, I found I had an audience whilst I was working!!!  I expect these two are a little worried that they're next, bearing in mind that they're both previously brunette wigged kids!

  1. They are probably looking on and thinking 'ouch' that looks painful! Great to see the progress though and I will watch with interest to see the 'boy' style haircut.

    1. Probably, but probably not as painful as it is for my cuticles!!! They have been caught so many times on the needles that I even had blood on the hair!! Good job it's going to be washed!

  2. I was thinking the same thing as Serenata, Jack and Bailey look like they are thinking - ouch!
That would be quite a sight to see, a doll sitting at the hair salon having a hair cut!

    1. LOL, yes, Bailey in particular knows what it's like to have her head poked about with needles, poor thing!
I promise that if I do go to the hairdressers with him, then I will also take the camera!

  3. I think Jack actually looks rather fascinated with the whole procedure, whilst also looking so handsome in his beautifully toning shirt (eyes, skin tone and hair - just perfect. Bailey as always looks totally sweet and girly in shades of pink, but I think she's looking on so tentatively and concernedly because she knows exactly what's going on!! Keep up the lovely work and keep in with your friendly hairdresser.

    1. I wonder does Jack have a bit of a morbid streak there Jude!!!
Thanks for your nice comments about Jack, but do you think he could be 'too' co-ordinated perhaps? I was wondering this the other day when I looked at all the mid browns on him!
Poor Bailey, she's been down this route/root (!) already!!!

  4. What gorgeous eyes Emilio has. I just love the way they are outlined.
Great last photo of Jack and Bailey intently watching the process. The expression on their faces is priceless.
What a super shirt Jack now has. Did I miss the post of him being given it? It tones beautifully with his hair and cord trousers.

    1. Thank you Kendal, they are pretty aren't they?
Thanks also on the shirt. I did make it for him but I'm not sure I like it very much so I never bothered putting it on here. I wonder if it isn't a 'strong' enough contrast with his colouring?

    1. Thanks Dee, and yes, I made the shirt when we were at the coast, but haven't posted any photos of it because I'm not sure that I like it very much on him! I might need to show him wearing it then.....for an honest opinion of it full length.
Finished Emilio today.....my cuticles are suffering!!!

  6. Don't know about the on-looking kids, but this has me cringing in sympathy!
I know what you mean about not wanting to stop though... I just sent a toddler to Shelly for eye surgery. She was going bald too and once I started pulling her locks to see how loose they were, I just couldn't stop and she traveled bald, poor little thing! Her hair was not strong enough to save and she had a huge bald patch, but I didn't MEAN to complete the job before sending her.... just couldn't stop..!

    1. LOL yes Jenni, it's a painful process all round me thinks!!
Oh that's sad on the toddler, but I have to say that once you pull out one plug, you're right, it's so hard to stop with the rest. I've done it twice now on two brunettes, they just kept coming and coming......I hope your toddler won't feel the cold on her journey to and from Shelly. But she'll feel so much better with new eyes. I know that when I had my own eyes lazered, it was wonderful afterwards!!! LOL

  7. It's really coming along! At this stage, with the longer hair he looks like a little boy I know (the real-life little fellow has quite long hair). It will be neat so see the final look. :D

    1. Oh my goodness you're very kind Anna, but I'm a long way from a pro!!! I must admit though, this time I enjoyed doing the rooting far more than I did with Bailey. I've learned a few things along the way, including keeping the head warmed up and pliable as it makes work much easier. Oh and keeping the hair hung up worked much better too. Last time I had it lying down on my table and it just got everywhere. And I wasted so much because it kept getting tangled. I've done better this time and only wasted a little! I have loads left!!! Watch out baldies, here I come!!!
