Poor little Bertie, he's been here for months now and it wasn't until today that I finally finished an outfit for him....talk about neglected! I don't know why it's taken me so long to get motivated into sewing something for him, I just find the babies a bit of a challenge. I love looking at other peoples photos of them, I even like looking at this little fellows face as he sits on my Sasha shelf, but I had no urge to sew for him. However he is now the happy owner of a set of new clothes and wanted to show them off to you. He even has a hat....although it's not really the weather for this type of hat, when he saw the little fishes I'd decorated it with, nothing would deter him from putting it on right away!!
Bertie likes to play with his friend Stewart Little!
And he particularly loves his cousin Lindt!
Hi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics of Bertie and what a beautiful outfit, he looks adorable. I only collect the babies and toddlers so far so this blog is perfect for me ;-) although, it's a slippery slope with Sasha's so I don't know how long I will last before I venture on to the bigger ones!!!
What a beautiful background you have for all your pictures, so sunny and happy.
I have been following your blog and left a few messages but they didn't go through. Hopefully this one will.
Best wishes,
Susan xx
Hi Susan
DeleteThank you so much for your lovely commenting and for stopping by. I hope that you're now able to comment, seeing as this one posted just fine. I would love to see your babies and toddlers!!
Thank you also on the photos, I'm very fortunate with the weather here and the light is incredible....it's so clear and bright, even in the town where we live, although we are surrounded by countryside.
Big hugs Sharon xx
What a cute little outfit, perfect fit and suits him down to a tee.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he's pleased his Mum finally got round to it!
Love Lindt's outfit too, now if only you could find the time to make the girls some knickers.....
Hi Rosie
DeleteThanks so much on the outfit, I'm glad you like it. He is very happy to finally have something to wear rather than the winter clothes he came in! Thanks also on Lindt's outfit, I made that last year, I really like the colours on her.
Ahh knickers! Well my girls are going to St Nicholas school, so they don't wear them! LOL ;) Seriously though, do you mean for my own dolls or other peoples? Only I have an enormous commission to start on and knickers were a bit low on the agenda!!!
Big hugs Sharon xx
Only raking your bacon (pulling your leg!!)
DeleteThat's odd, I responded to this this morning and it never came through! I was saying that I've never heard this expression before.....is it an northern Irish one do you think? xxx
DeletePossibly - one of my daughter's school friends says it! Don't know if she made it up though :)
DeleteHURRAH!!!! At LAST Bertie is wearing new clothes!!! and what fine clothes they are too!! just as well being as the poor boys been naked as the day he was made since he arrived!!
ReplyDeleteAt least now he can sit in his perfectly sized little clothes watching his mum slave away on all her clothing commissions without worrying a little frozen something may drop onto the bench in front of her :))
Linzt is a lovely gotz girl who I am sure would love to live in the village????? :))
hugs Dee xx
Thanks very much Dee, glad you like them. He is happy, at last, to have something to wear that is relevant to the warm weather. I suppose I could have made his dungarees with short legs but I thought these were light and airy enough to keep him cool but also they'd keep his little leggies from getting burnt!!!
DeleteLOL, if anything that small froze off I'd probably not see it without my glasses!!!
Again, nice try on Lindt!!!!
Big Hugs Sharon xx
At long last dear little Bertie gets some Summer gear and NOT before time I might add.
ReplyDeleteDon't know just how you could have resisted him for so long now. IF he lived here and I could still sew I would have stayed up all night on the day he arrived to sew him something a little cooler for those hot climbs that he has now moved to.
.
Nevertheless it's finally here and such an attractive, bright and colourful little outfit for this fun loving adorable little chappie. You are awarded a Gold star!
LOL yes, and it's a wonder I didn't need to make him a 'toddler' outfit having taken so long to dress him ;) I'm a very naughty dolly mum. Dee has been telling me off and warning me of the dire consequences of not dressing him......and they were dire indeed....!!! And what would I have done then? Goodness knows!
DeleteI'm glad you like the outfit Kendal...And would you believe it, I now want to make more things for him and am thinking perhaps I should get a girl baby for him to play with! LOL Thank you for my Gold Star!!! :)
Bertie looks absolutely adorable in his new outfit. I love how you mixed the bright colors. What a precious baby boy! :). xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ginger! Glad you like it and him.....As you probably gathered I love those bright colours and can't resist them on my dolls!!!! xxx
DeleteWhat a great outfit! Of course he couldn't resist the hat; it's so cute! :D
ReplyDeleteLOL no, couldn't resist the hat. He really doesn't need one, his poor little head will be very hot ;) but I thought he looked cute in it so on it stayed!!! I'm glad you like it, thank you!!
DeleteHi Sharon, Bertie's outfit is adorable and the little fish on his hat area nice touch.I must agree with you that babies clothes are more fiddly to make and i think it is because i cannot pose them to stand like the bigger ones x
ReplyDeleteThank you Theresa, I'm glad you like it!
DeleteI'm not sure what it was with me, I'm used to making far tinier clothes, for the little skinny 14cm bjds for example, but I think the not being able to stand bit is probably nearer the mark for me. I just don't know what to do with him!!! He just sits there at the feet of the others, looking cute! Maybe that is enough though and I should accept him for what he is!!!!! Maybe he needs a friend his own size? Or is that double the trouble? xx
