The Long and the Short of it! Doll comparison photos.....

I was taking some comparison photos and thought that someone might find them useful.

I've included a mixed selection of dolls, including my biggest doll, Vienna, my Volks SD10 Nana, right through to my tiniest doll, Twig, my Elfdoll Min del Re!

From left to right:

Vienna, Volks SD10 Nana - approx 57cm resin ball jointed doll
Loulou, Kaye Wiggs Light tan human Layla - approx 45cm resin ball jointed doll (tall MSD)
Sasha, Unoa Sist - approx 43cm resin ball jointed doll (slim MSD)
Wren, 1969 Kilt Sasha - 15.5 inch vintage vinyl doll
Ellie, Little Darling #1 sculpt by Dianna Effner - 13 inch vinyl doll
Olivia, Primavera Olivia Blond by Helen Kish - 12 inch jointed plastic and vinyl doll
Paisley, Bohemian Peace Blythe - 12 inch plastic doll, customised
Faun, Volks YOSD Megu - approx 29cm resin ball jointed doll
Samantha, Elfdoll Hana Angel - 20cm resin ball jointed doll
Nora, Lati Yellow tanned Pirate Lea - 16cm resin ball jointed doll
Twig, Elfdoll Min del Re - 14cm resin ball jointed doll

And here are a few comparisons for Dee in particular, showing Sasha and the Little Darling by Dianna Effner:

Wren and Ellie

And finally, for another friend who asked, here is a comparison showing a slim MSD (Unoa Sist), Iplehouse KID Lonnie, Fairyland Little Fee Ante and Lati Yellow tanned Lea:

Leona, Sasha & Fiona, with little Nora in front

    1. Thanks so much Barbara, I'm glad you found it interesting. Errrm, I have a whole bunch more dolls that I couldn't fit in the photo, so I thought it would help more if I just took one from each sort of 'size' for this comparison photo. My baby boy is pretending he is at the nudist colony because he is STILL naked, poor little fellow. But luckily it is very hot here at the moment so he is probably better off than the rest of us!
Thank you also on the tiles. These are the tiles on the wall of our entrance hallway, they are typical Andaluz tiles....I really love how colourful they are!
      Hugs Sharon xx

    2. Oh, I see there are tiles not mosaic stones. Anyway I like this background and the nice Andaluz colors:)

  2. Fabulous comparison which really shows how different they all are in terms of proportions and body shapes. Sasha really does look like the most natural of them all in my opinion, although I think they all look great. Wonderful to see Wren and Ellie together, they look so sweet.

    1. Thanks Lorraine, I don't ever display my different types of dolls together but knew that some people would find this very useful for getting an idea on the sizing.

  3. This is really interesting and helpful - you have some great dolls and are very talented at styling them. I keep browsing sites for the smaller bjds - and now love the Little Darling dolls as well.

I have (and had) quite a few small bjds from various companies, so if you ever need any help, I'd be more than happy to do so, just give me a shout. Oh yes, the Little Darlings are incredibly cute!!!

  4. What a great collection of dolls in all sizes Sharon. What a line up! Thanks for putting them on together it does so show up how different they all are
I was so surprised to see how small Ellie looks compared to Wren! I think Ellie certainly stands out in that crowd ! :) And lovely to see some of your other doll along with their names and makes, I will save this photo for future reference if that's ok!
And I also love the colour and style of the tiles
    Hugs Dee xx

    1. Thanks very much Dee, glad you found them interesting and enjoyable! I thought you might be surprised at the difference between Wren and Ellie, I think you will enjoy having her join you all at the village! And yes, please do save the photo and I can always send you more photos if there is anyone in particular that you want comparisons or photos of, just give me a shout!
Thanks also on the tiles. They are typcial Andaluz tiles. This area was once our garage and already tiled like this, with other nice tiles on the floor...can you imagine having your garage tiled like that!!! But we made it into our entrance hall instead as it is nice and sunny and bright. Plus it was a bit small for our car!!! xxx

    2. Looking at that line up again , Ellie looks like a child hiding amongst a line of mannequins, so sweet!!

  5. Gosh I had absolutely NO idea of these differences in their sizes and shapes. Most interesting and such a learning curve for me! Many thanks indeed.

    1. I thought they might come as a surprise to you Kendal! I think too many times we see measurements but they don't really mean much to us until we see them compared to other dolls that we are familiar with. When you look at Sasha and then at the slim MSD, third from left, it is hard to think that they are about the same height, but so incredibly different in shape....and then Blythe, who has a big head, can share hats with Sasha...and yet she looks so tiny in the photos!!! I do enjoy having lots of different doll types and sizes but it really does keep me busy with sewing clothes for them....they are all as demanding as each other!!! ;)

  6. Thanks for showing the difference in all of these girls, I often wonder how they all measure up.
I'm surprised that Ellie is so much smaller than Wren, they both have child like proportions although I think Ellie's arms and legs are skinnier.
Your tiles are such lovely colours too!

    1. You're very welcome Rosie, I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for your comment. Yes, Wren is a lot taller than Ellie, and yes, Ellies limbs are thinner, her body is a little bit chubby though...well not so much chubby as she doesn't really have a defined waist like children often don't.
Thanks also on the tiles, I wondered really if I should have stood the dolls somewhere else as the tiles are so colourful!!!!!

    1. Thanks so much once again Ginger, glad you enjoyed the post. I thought it might be useful to some people to see them all in a row like this.
Thank you also on the tiles, I really like how they look and they catch the sun very nicely too. :) xxx
