Especially for Kazz!

This post is especially for Kazz, a reader of my blog who requested photos of one of my Little Darlings some weeks ago and I never saw the request until today.

My profuse apologies for the delay in responding.

I used to receive emails when someone posted on my blog so would always know when a comment was made on the latest post or on older posts too, but I no longer get those.  Does anyone know how I can get those notification emails again?

Anyway, without further ado, here are some photos of my tanned Little Darling who is handpainted by Lana, posted especially for Kazz in the UK who requested close ups of her face.  Because she's such a cutie, I've added some full length shots too ;)   I hope they're not too late Kazz and hope also that you don't mind me using older photos that you may have already seen here on my blog.

Sorry that there are so many photos of the same doll, but hopefully this will help Kazz with her decision making :)

I just noticed that in all the photos she's wearing blue and white, which suits her perfectly and just so happens to be my favourite colour combination :)

  1. I love the Little Darlings. I will NEVER afford one,so I have to settle for the similar looking Maru and Friends dolls. They're sculpted by Dianna Effner too, even if they are mass produced and not as artfully painted.

    1. I like the Maru dolls too, I used to have a big Tanya, she was really pretty. The Little Darlings are beautiful but their limbs are very restricting, I prefer my BJDs to be honest....but I keep the LDs that I have because I know that I'd not be able to replace them if I were to regret selling. I was only able to afford mine because of all the commissions I was sewing to be honest!

  2. Sharon, she is adorable! I have seen her photos before somewhere, maybe on the ning site. What have you named her?
You are fortunate to have Little Darling painted by Lana. Many of us are wishing for one.

    1. Thank you Dorothy, and yes she has been on the Ning site but also I've posted on here about her in the past as well as putting photos on Flickr, maybe you saw her there?
Her name is Rory, I like boys names for girls :)
I have heard that people are waiting since 2014 for their dolls from Lana now. I thought 26 months was bad enough, but that is an awful long time to wait for a doll, so much can happen in four years.

  3. So happy to have discovered your blog, Sharon, you have a new regular reader. I love your dolls, and will be reading with interest about your life since I will be emigrating to Germany in the next few years and have started reading a lot about expats and how they cope with their adopted countries. Once we live on the same continent, we might even meet up at a doll show!

    1. Hello Megan and welcome to my blog! Thank you for taking the time to read it and for posting a comment. I'm glad you're enjoying my dolls and I hope your move to Germany goes smoothly. Wouldn't that be fun to meet at a doll show! I'm more than happy to tell you how we've coped with our move to Spain, we've been here more than 14 years now and I love being here every year!

  5. Beautiful girl - I have managed o avoid succumbing to the LD dolls - mostly because I haven't got the patience to wait so long!

    1. Thanks Tricia. I agree on the wait, it's just too long. I did it before but wouldn't do it again. I think the longest I can wait for things now is about 6 months, and I usually just sort of 'forget' that I have ordered something. The hardest part for me is between when they're shipped and when they arrive!!! And that's usually not too long at all.

  6. Hello Sharon!

I have not got any notifications for a while when it comes to blogger and comments. Suddenly, a day or to ago, I got an e-mail from blogger saying something like ”Long time, no see - do you still wish to get notifications when someone comments on your blog?” Strange. Thought I had done something with the codes or clicked somewhere, so that these notifications will not come.

And this doll is such a cutie! I agree, she suits in the colors blue/white. The last two pictures gave me a flashback - the dress she is wearing reminds me of a dress (well more an apron-dress, with buttons on the back) that I had when I was about 4 years old.

    Enjoy the new week! Hugs!

    1. Hi Niina, thank you for your comment and for the information about the comments. I will have to take a look around and see if I can find something about it somewhere.
That dress you mention, I do believe it was once a pinafore pattern but I just decided to make it into a dress. In fact if I remember rightly, it was a tiny pattern that I'd done for Riley Kish and I just kept making it bigger as I liked the simplicity of it!

  7. Beautiful face and I love how you have dressed her. These dolls are cute but the wait and cost can be enormous. The Boneka girls are sweet and a lot cheaper . I think you have a couple of those too ?
But I do love seeing you dolls Sharon, you have such a variety and all so beautifully dressed by you. xx

    1. Thanks very much Dee, I'm glad you like her. You're right on the wait and the cost. I have one Boneka girl, I had two but sold one last year on the spur of the moment as I really didn't need two. I like them though, they fit into the YOSD outfits so are a nice small size to clothe.

  9. Hi Sharon. No I is not too late. Thank you SO much for posting more pics. She is SO gorgeous - a proper Little Darling. I definitely want a dark tan with dark brown eyes. I am on two waiting lists - Nelly and Magalie - but have bought a few lately! I think she looks very sweet in blue. Did I say I am in the UK? Thank you again. Kazz x

    1. Hi Kazz, I'm glad it wasn't too late and that you enjoyed seeing her again. They are very addictive aren't they!
I wanted the dark tan with brown eyes for ages, I thought she would be my little Spanish girl, like the little girls I see all the time here and she really is....but the wait....oh boy, it's just too long, isn't it!!
And thank you for your message on Ning too :) You will see that I've replied to you on there now
