Because today I was too busy to take any photos of a new outfit I've made for one of my Sashas, I decided that I'd share some older photos of my only 'fashion doll'. I have been chatting with a couple of my friends in the US about fashion dolls, which have never really appealed to me...I have always preferred 'child' dolls. In the past I've bought and sold several Ellowyne Wildes and a couple of other dolls of the same size from Robert Tonner, but one doll that I've had for several years now and have no intention of selling, is Dorothy from the Return to Oz series also by Robert Tonner. She is the same size and has the same body, as Ellowyne, but for some reason she just appeals to me so much more.
I took her hair down from its original style and then glossed her eyes and lips. I think she's such a pretty girl. She wasn't available in Europe for some reason, I think it was something to do with copyright, but I managed to buy her on Ebay back in December 2010. I don't sew for her much, because I have some lovely Ellowyne outfits that she looks great in, but I am planning on making some simple shift dresses for her very soon.
Wearing an Ellowyne outfit by Robert Tonner....love this outfit!

Another frame, she looks great in sepia!
She's lovely! And so photogenic... :)ReplyDelete
I like her much better in your pictures than in the company pictures!
Thanks so much Randomfish, she really is very photogenic isn't she!Delete
I have looked at other Dorothys on Ebay and I have to say that I think I struck lucky with this one, she looks very nice compared to some of the others I've seen!
Agreeing with Randomfish - she is indeed very photogenic and the outfits are gorgeous. What height is she?ReplyDelete
Thanks Lorraine, glad you like her and her outfits! She's MSD sized, so approx 40cm, or thereabouts. And she's slim so slim MSD clothing fits her too!Delete
She's lovely. She reminds me a little of Tiny Kitty Collier.ReplyDelete
Thanks Nikola! Yes, you're right now you mention it, she does a bit, doesn't she! I never had a Tiny KC but did have one of the bigger ones, she was very pretty but I didn't like how her arms just stuck out at her sides and her legs were so straight and unnatural looking! Poor girl hit the selling block really quickly!Delete
Very pretty girl Sharon. I think she as a bit of a Spanish look to her :)ReplyDelete
Great set of photo's and clothes
Thanks Dee! Yes, she is Spanish but with an Irish mother ;)Delete
I can't remember what her name is now, I know that because her original name is Dorothy, I gave her a name beginning with D, but for the life of me I can't recall it.....got it DANTEA!!
