A little bit of sewing....

I haven't been sewing much since August, in fact I've really had no inclination to sew either, however just recently the urge to do something 'creative' has been niggling there at the edge of my brain, so finally, after a few false starts, I've made a new outfit for one of my dolls.

The doll who was lucky enough to get a new outfit was Devlin, my blond 1969 PJs Gregor.  He is a cutie but is seriously in need of restringing, and hasn't had anything new to wear in ages.  So I looked through my photo album of 'clothing ideas' and found this photo:

It's a little boys outfit from my favourite children's clothing shop, Raquel's in Torre del Mar, a lovely but very expensive shop I might add!

Because I was feeling a bit lazy after so long without sewing, I decided to make my boys outfit with short sleeves rather than long cuffed ones, (plus it is still warm enough for him to wear short sleeves in the sunshine!) and whereas the shirt in the shop window was without a collar, I wanted this rounded collar on mine.   I also added knee high navy blue socks and he is wearing black leather boots by Ruthsdolls.   I'm very happy with how Devlin looks in his new clothes.

I now want to make two more boy outfits for my other Gregors but so far 'thinking about it' is as far as I've got! LOL

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you all have a lovely week a head :)

  1. I love this new outfit you have made for Devlin! And it's good to know that you are starting to get the old creative juices back again.
It's always best to have a good long rest when things get too much.
What a fab outfit to 'return'with. Xxxx

  2. I LOVE Devlin in this outfit. It looks so neat - and he is a very handsome boy! Gorgeous blue eyes. I'm certain your other boys are nagging they want something similar.

They are indeed nagging and I had every intention of making them something too, but then after making this I lost interest a bit!

  3. Devlin looks wonderful, Sharon. He's a real sweetie and the outfit is great - makes me nostalgic and somehow more 'Christmassy,' if you understand my meaning?

I'm a little out of the dolly frame of mind, not just aking things or displaying them, I almost forget they are here. I'm sure it will pass but, just now, I keep feeling that something is missing from life and then remembering that it's the dolls!

    1. Thanks very much Jenni, I'm glad you like him and his outfit.
I can completely understand the lack of enthusiasm for dolls, I feel it sometimes too.....and I'm sure it will pass eventually. I guess it's just like any hobby, but if we take a rest from it, maybe we come back enjoyng it even more!

  4. Hi Sharon,
Glad you're back posting again. Devlin is looking very dapper in his tartan shorts. I like that you added the Peter Pan collar, it makes the shirt look finished. Will you make the others in the same fabric or tartan in different colours?
All the best for Christmas and New Year,
    Big hugs,
    X

  8. Lovely outfit! It reminds me of the 1960's shorts boy, which I think was the best Gregor outfit ever.
