A new outfit for Becca by Paola Reina...

Whilst I was in the UK I thought I'd have a look at the newly released Sindy who is available at Tesco supermarkets.  The famous teenager doll of the 1960s onwards has been reproduced but this time instead of being a small fashion doll, she is now an 18 inch child doll aimed at much younger girls I would think.  The doll herself does not appeal to me in the least, she has a flat bland face in my humble opinion but I did buy one of the outfits that are available separately as I thought it was quite cute and might fit one of my other dolls in this size range.

The outfit I bought was called simply "Sindy Winter Outfit" and cost £11.95.  It consists of a pink fluffy jumper/tunic with a silver vinyl heart applique, pink and white sort of snowflake patterned stretch knit leggings, a pink puffed sleeveless body warmer with a turquoise lining and collar, this does up with Velcro but has silver snaps on the front, just for show, pink fabric boots that do up the back with Velcro, pink nylon fabric 'mittens' which are actually not shaped in any way, and are edged with the fluffy fabric and a pair of fluffy pink earmuffs!  A lot of PINK!  Although Velcro wouldn't be my first choice, remember this is an outfit made for young children so would be great for them.

However, the outfit is quite cute and well made and I tried it on my Paola Reina Becca who is approx 17.5 inches tall and is from the Soy Tu range of dolls.  The fit is great and I think it looks good on her even though some people would not dress a redhead in pink :)

She decided to wear it to the beach yesterday because although it was bright and sunny, it was a little on the cool side.   I hope you'll agree that the outfit does look sweet on her!

(Someone asked me if this outfit would fit Sasha dolls.  I've not tried yet but think it would probably work for the later larger dolls, but I will try it soon).

Happy Monday everyone!  It's pouring with rain here today.......!

  1. A lot of pink really! But it looks so cute on your redhead. I think the body warmer should work well on a Sasha - and that fluffy stuff seems to be all the rage this year.

  3. That is sad to hear that they have changed Sindy. I LOVED my Sindy when I was a kid. (I still have her!)
I really like the pink outfit that you bought and I think it looks really sweet.

    1. Yes me too Sam, loved her and was sorely disappointed in the new one. She's just a generic child's doll now, very bland I feel.
I'm glad you like the outfit, thankyou, I thought it was a good buy....and I can never resist a good buy!!

  4. Great outfit from the Sindy range. so good when you can get these things for your other dolls. Must say I have not seen the new sindy, will have to keep a look out to see what she's changed into.
Have to say she did look like she needed some warm clothes for her trip to the beach. Thanks for the info on these outfits :) xx

  5. I have seen the New Sindys and was surprised that they were using the name. Although the dolls aren't my cup of tea I think I prefer them to AG!
The outfit you got is something many little girls would just love for their dolls.
Did you see they had accessories too which I thought would suit Sasha.

    1. I prefer that they are all vinyl bodies, but I like one of the AG faces, but not their cloth bodies. I've never seen one in real life though, just photos here on the internet.
Yes, I saw some of the accessories but they weren't in stock in my mum's local Tesco, so have only seen them online. The size would certainly work :)

  7. Very cute pink outfit, I am not a fan of Velcro either. But hey you're a sewer so it can be easily fixed if it bothers you. And who ever said redhead can't or shouldn't wear pink has rocks in their head, your Paola Reina Becca looks wonderful in that outfit. :)

    1. Yes I do sometimes change the velcro for snaps, but in this case I'll not bother. I have actualy used velcro recently on some of my own dolls clothes, purely laziness and the fact that it's getting harder to get the tiny snaps here!!
Thank you for your compliments on my PR girl in the outfit :)

  8. Very cozy and cute. I love the leggings! That PR doll is so adorable. I hope you're still enjoying the nice weather over there in Spain! Did it ever snow for Christmas over there when you were living in the UK?

    1. Thanks very much Farrah, yes those leggings are cute, aren't they!
We have had a lot of rain lately but it's not been particularly cold, well maybe for me it's cold but would be a nice summer's day in the UK!
I don't recall any snowy Christmases in the UK but then I lived not far outside London and it's always milder there, but we did get some very unexpected snowfalls some years and they were horrendous as because it's not common, so it's not really prepared for!

  9. She looks very pretty in her outfit, good value too! I haven't seen the new Sindys in real life, but I'm glad they haven't tried to make her sexy. I loved my Sindys when I was young and I think the Las Amigas dolls from Paola Reina remind me a lot of them, it's a pity they don't make them multi-jointed, that would be really great!

    1. Thank you Stella. No, she's definitely not sexy and I agree, that would not be the Sindy we all know and love! Yes I agree on the joints, I have a couple of the newer Tonner Sindy's and they are lovely but their arms do stick out a bit as they are modelled on the original Sindy!
