Sewing for Chloe....

I did a little bit of sewing today for Chloe my tanned Mini Fee by Fairyland.  I have a new Mini Fee coming and this outfit was intended for her but it looked so nice on Chloe that she gets to keep it (even though she already has LOTS of clothes already!) and the new girl will get something else.  She's not due to arrive until early next week so hopefully I will get the chance to make something before then.

This is just a simple tee shirt and skirt set, the tee shirt pattern is for Robert Tonner's Ellowyne Wilde and is a free pattern from Pixie Faire, and the skirt is a basic pattern that I put together myself.  The pretty fabric of the skirt was part of a gorgeous gift from my lovely friend Sandi in Australia, it's a Japanese print and is called Candy Cats.  The tee shirt is made from a cotton knit baby vest that I bought in the sales!

The really cute sports shoes are by Summomo on Etsy.

Well I can't believe we're half way through yet another week....and still we're not having great weather here.  A day or two of sunshine then back to showers and thunderstorms.  Hopefully very soon it'll settle and we'll have the good weather that brought us to Spain 14 years ago!!!

The only good thing about the rainy weather is it does wash away the Andalucian dust that we often get coated with when it's very dry!  And it also makes the plant life look very bright against the dull sky.

I took these three photos this morning in the drizzle!!!  I don't know the name of the tree but it looks like one of those bottle brush trees.....

And this cute bronze statue in the centre of Torre del Mar.....a little girl and her grandfather:

Enjoy the rest of your week....and here's to a great weekend!

Big hugs, Sharon x

I wonder what you found out about the statue? I have never thought to google it before.

  2. Chloe looks beautiful in her (stolen) outfit Sharon. I'm so glad you could put the fabric to good use. :)

Yes, that tree is indeed a bottle brush, we have lots of them growing in Australia, actually used to have one growing in our garden once upon a time. Can't really remember what happened to it, but hubby thinks it just karked it! Lots of plants do that here (especially in out garden LOL!), don't know if we kill them with kindness or choose the wrong darn plants in the first place, but what the heck, we like the garden to look pretty.

That's a lovely sculpture, although I wonder if he's just telling his granddaughter a story with his hands or telling her she mustn't do something. :)

Hope you receive the sunshine your after.
    Big hugs,
    X

    1. Thanks very much Sandi, I'm glad you like Chloe in her outfit and yes that great fabric will get more use too as I have quite a bit left :)
I thought it was a bottle brush but didn't realise they came in other colours, I thought they were only yellow for some reason. I do understand plants giving up as I'm the same. I do not have one single green finger! Fortunately Brian, my husband, is better at it than me so our plants survive...usually!
I think he is telling her something about the town but not sure what!

  3. Wow, Chloe's outfit is fabulous!! It complements her complexion beautifully. (And, as an aside, her eyes are breathtaking!) I'm sure your new doll will be just as delighted with her outfit. :)

The sculpture is really intriguing. It looks like something your dolls do, in terms of expression and posture, and the way the story unfolds so naturally.

Sending thoughts of warm sunny weather your way! -Orchid

    1. Hi Orchid
Thank you so much for visiting and commenting on my blog, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing Chloe in her outfit and the sculpture in Torre del Mar.
Finally we have warm weather but it's not the same as it usually is at this time of year! Weird!

  4. Chloe looks so great in her new outfit! The color suits her well. And that fabric from Sandi is so cute!
Funny looking tree, with those bottle brush looking flowers. Never seen something like that. Beautiful color!
I love sculptures and this one is something warm, showing a relationship between two humans, in different ages. I think he is telling her something and showing her, pointing at something.
Sending some sunshine from here, to you!
    Hugs!

    1. Thank you very much Niina, isn't it very cute fabric!
I thought the same on that tree, very unusual colour, and so pretty against the dull sky we had that day.
I tend to agree on the sculpture, he's definitely telling her something, I wonder what though!
Thank you for the sunshine, it finally got here :)

    1. Thanks very much Ginger, I'm glad you like her outfit. It's very simple but I think the fabric that I received really 'makes' it, doesn't it!
I'm glad you like those photos, they stood out really well on such a damp day!
