So imagine my delight when I heard that their 2016 collection included some girls who were now wigged instead of rooted! Zwergnase Juniors used to be wigged before 2008, when they were discontinued and they first released rooted girls. But finally the company seems to have listened to their customers and have brought back wigs......I hope this continues.
I was atracted to Violet straight away, but hesitated too long when she arrived at a doll shop in France that I sometimes buy from. But in the end I decided to order directly from Zwergnase in Germany and I must say, if my experience was anything to go by, I would highly recommend them. All of my emails and questions were answered quickly and my order was processed with speed. About two hours after I paid my invoice so I received my shipping notification and my doll and two pairs of extra boots that I purchased, arrived within 5 days, which is really good!
So here she is, my sweet little Violet who is now known as Léonie, because of her 'mane' of lovely hair! She is handpainted and her wig is full, soft and curly. Her outfit which consists of lightweight cotton trousers with elasticated waist, sleeveless grey cotton smock top, striped socks and a fully lined vinyl hooded raincoat with patch pockets, is bright and colourful and well made. Her big boots are real suede. And she has an attractive wooden necklace. I think I'm going to have fun with this pretty and quirky girl!
Now for photo overload!!!!! ;)
I hope you've enjoyed meeting Léonie.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy the rest of your week!!
Now this is a Zwergnase that I like - they're not all to my taste. Welcome to your new girl, I bet you'll have fun sewing for her.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, they are an acquired taste I think, a bit like Marmite, you either love them or hate them! I hope I will indeed have fun sewing for her! Thanks for your comment Anna!

Oh Sharon I just want to pinch her chubby little cheeks, she is a lovely doll. Did she come dressed like that? The outfit is very sweet, but Ill be interested in seeing what you make for her. BTW How tall is she?
ReplyDeleteHope you have a Hoppy Easter!
Hugs,
X
LOL she is likely to stamp on your toe Xanadu, if you pinch her cheeks! Yes, this is her default outfit and the coat is very cute. The whole outfit is great, and the bright colours really seem to suit her. She is 50cm tall and all vinyl.
DeleteThank you, I hope you have a Hoppy Easter too!!!

I'm really pleased for you....although these dolls are not for me. I do like her trendy outfit.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yourselves over Easter.
Thank you Kendal, and the same to you!
DeleteI hope you get lots of chocolate too!

Hi Leoni!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad we are no longer both named Violet. it is most odd to have the same name as your twin, don't you think?
When I arrived in Britain, I spent a couple of days in England before moving on here to Wales. My new Mam told me there is already a girl here with the name of Violet and asked I fwould mind a name change. Well, I jumped at the chance and have spent yesterday looking up names on a website and have finally decided on Lara. Funny that we both have names starting with 'L' but perhaps that is fitting for twins.
I hope you are fitting into your new home happily. What a good job that you love the sun and the beach and I like the countryside and waking up each day to different weather!
Tell Marlie that I am looking forward to hearing all the news from Spain.
Love,
Lara xxx
Hi Lara
DeleteYes, me too, it's a bit confusing, isn't it! You're lucky though cos my mum didn't even ask me, she just said I had a 'mane' of hair so called me Leonie! With an accent over the 'e'....bit posh eh? I doubt I'll put that silly thing over the 'e' at all, I'm just LEONIE! Fancy naming me after a lion eh? Maybe I will get my own back and bite her one night when she is asleep....unless of course she makes me lots of nice clothes, then I might let her off for calling me after an ANIMAL!!!!!
Your name is nice though Lara, like Lara Croft, an adventurer...glad your mum didn't name YOU after an animal!
I will tell Marlie to email you, lazy girl is just lying around naked, would you believe it! But it has been nice today so I guess it's better than wearing a raincoat that sticks to me in the heat!
Love Leonie xxx
You have such lovely dolls Sharon, and Leonie is no exception. She has the same name as my new Natterer. I am following a few Zwergnase dolls at the moment and my finger is developing a serious twitch!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Tricia, I'm very pleased with her. The Natterers are lovely too aren't they? I think you should join us on the new Zwergnase Juniors group on FB!!! ;) Not helping, am I!!!

Hi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty she is! I have never heard of this doll line before. Her hair is fantastic. Lovely photos. :)
Thanks very much Farrah. The dolls have been around a long time, I think the 'Junior' line was first introduced in 2003, I'm not sure on the art dolls though. They are sculpted by Nicole Menzner and are all handmade in Germany, so the quality is excellent....and these are actually the 'play' dolls....you should see the 'art dolls'!!

Actually the artist's full name is Nicole Marschollek-Menzner...in case you wanted to look her up ;)
DeleteShe is a beauty! Lovely clothes and gorgeous hair. Looks like you will have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Jano, I certainly hope I will have fun with her :)

Love your new girl Sharon. She really does have such a pretty face and her hairs great. I am trying very hard not to be tempted ! lol :)xxx
ReplyDeleteThank Dee, I'm very happy with her so far. I don't really want to be tempted by a second one as I like her being an 'only child' in this type of doll but I keep looking at them and thinking "shall I?"....Zwergnase made it too easy!

She is gorgeous! I love the photos in front of the old tree.
ReplyDeleteI believe your experience with the Zwergnase people was not uncommon. I visited their showrooms last summer, which could easily have left me broke, but they only accept cash, so I couldn't get too carried away. They were very pleasant, they even encouraged us to bring our dogs in because it was so hot outside! We preferred not to, though, because they have a Golden Retriever, and my Kuno believes he is the master of all retrievers and can boss them around. I bought an artist line doll then, and some weeks later I ordered a small 36 cm Junior, which was delivered very quickly.
I solved the sparse-hairline-problem by a thin braid placed over Bina's forehead (put pics on my blog).
To buy extra shoes is a great idea! Bina's shoes are a good fit for Sashas, and they even make them stand better, because the shoes are so heavy. I think they look perfect on the boys.
Looking forward to see Leonie's new clothes!
Thanks for your visit NeverUschi, I have just been to your blog to look at your Junior and your Art doll, what a cute pair. I'm very envious about your trip to the Zwergnase showrooms! I have generally found that German companies are very helpful and efficient, I think it is the German culture. The quality of product is excellent too.a
DeleteI'm just about to post Leonie in her new outfit now!

Wonderful new girl Sharon. Leonie is a very pretty name and her hair is truly beautiful. I love her outfit too! Congratulations! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Ginger. It's not often that a name comes to me quickly but I saw the name else where and it immediately reminded me of a lion, so Leoni she became :)
