A New Kid on the Block!

Robin from Little Cosmos Dolls arrived yesterday amid much excitement!  I ordered her back in April and have been waiting patiently for her to come home!

You may remember that I met the artist behind Little Cosmos Dolls, Sandra Locre, back in June at the Dolly Day 2018 in Barcelona, the post about that event can be found  here
and having met her and seen her dolls in real life, I was really keen to receive my doll....so much so that I ordered another of her sculpts from her on my return home!

As you all know, I love pouty faced BJDs, particularly sullen looking dolls, so Robin's face particularly appealed to me when I saw her up for pre-order back in the spring, so jumped at the chance to get her.

Sandra Locre describes Robin: "Robin has an aspect between sulking and sad, but don't be fooled, it is a tactic to get what she wants."  I guess Sandra knows, seeing as she was 'born' of Sandra's artistic talents.  You know there is something particularly lovely about receiving a doll that is created by the hands of a person you've met and like!

Robin is 29cm tall, all resin ball jointed doll.  She has size 14mm eyes and wears a size 6/7 inch stretch wig or 7/8 inch non stretch wig.  Below are some photos of her trying on wigs that I have in my wig box.  I think she looks cute in all the wigs I tried on her but what do you think?  Which is your favourite?

So here she is!

Well that's just a small selection of wigs that I liked on her, it's so hard to choose but am leaning towards one in particular but you'll have to wait and see what one that is!  Will your preference be the same as mine?

In the meantime, I think I need to make some new outfits for her too.  She is slightly taller than the rest of my girls in this category so the dresses look 'oddly' short on her, but no probs, I will enjoy sewing something just for her!

By the way, that's her 'nightie' that she's crept outside in.....I guess she thought that wearing it with her boots made it into a daytime outfit!!!

Well I hope you have enjoyed meeting Robin....who may end up being called Dylan as I sold another Dylan to get her!  I do like those boyish names for girls!

Have a great week ahead!

Big hugs Sharon xx

  1. Lovely Robin and having met the artist certainly makes her that much more special. My favourite happy memories come from living in Barcelona and pictures two and three remind me of some Catalan friends hairstyles. So that would be my favourite with her lovely vibrant red wig and cute bob in the last photo as my second and third. She is certainly worth the wait, Viv.

    1. Thank you very much Viv! Yes you're right, it really did make it so much better meeting Sandra, visiting her studio and seeing her works in progress :)
You lived in Barcelona! So did my daughter in law, she did her Masters at the university and she loved the city too.
Well you will see in my next post which wig I have chosen, I hope you like my choice!

  2. I have two top choices. The first and the redhair with the single tiny braid. I think the lighter (but not blonde) colors suit her skin tones. Looking forward to seeing what you decide.

    1. Haha Tam, I thought the red one would be your #1 favourite! I normally like the dark hair and brown eyes combo for most of my dolls, so you will be surprised at my choice ;)

  4. I just discovered your Blog and I had to see all the pictures you made from the Dolly Day this year in Barcelona. Pitty I couldn't be there as a vendor or a visitor. From your pictures I can imagine how great it must have been, thanks for sharing :)

And the wig I love the most on your cute doll has to be the dark one with fringes in the pictures 2 and 3. This way she reminds me on the little girl from Ramona and Beezus. Too cute <3

    1. Thank you Stella! I'm glad you discovered my blog and hope you'll enjoy it. I like that wig too, it was my second choice and might even end up being Bastian's wig when she arrives soon! I admit that I had to google Ramona and Beezus and see exactly what you mean, except that little girl seems really very happy compared to Robin!!!

    1. Thank you Dorothy :)
The red one is getting a lot of interest I think!
I will start sewing for her really soon. It's so hot at the moment and my little sewing room is like an oven, but hopefully I'll definitely get to it soon.

  6. I like her in the black crinkly wig ( 2nd and 3rd photos ) and the red , good luck deciding! lol
It must be lovely to meet the person who has created a doll you like. I would imagine it's hard not to go round a doll con and come away empty handed and with nothing on order!
I liked the white dress on her, will be nice to see what you make to replace it :) xx

    1. Thanks Dee. The black crinkly one is my second favourite....it used to be a long wig but you know me, I can't leave wigs alone if there are scissors to hand!!!
Yes it really was nice to meet her. I've now met a few of the bjd artists and they have all been very nice and interesting people and it really does bring their dolls to like even more for me.

  9. Oh my, I cannot pick a favorite for your wonderful Robin! She looks fantastic in each wig and oh so many different expressions! She is wonderful! If I must pick one, it would be the dear red wig with the single plait. Amazing Robin! So nice to welcome her to your loving home. 😊 xxx

    1. Great minds think alike Ginger!
Thank you for liking her, she is unusual but her little miserable face really appeals to me.
I'm really enjoying her and she's ready for school now....and not happy about that either!
