So I thought I'd make a knit dress, with hat and socks for Dylan, my Robin by Little Cosmos Dolls. I chose this blue knit fabric which is printed with little fox heads because I think blue looks lovely with her tan skin tone. The fabric is actually from a pair of pyjama trousers which I bought from our local Lidl late last year. The striped fabric is from a baby onesie and fortunately matches the printed fabric perfectly.
In other news, I've sold 4 dolls in the last few weeks but still have a way to go....and am still dragging my feet. My son is coming over for a visit from Wednesday but when he has left again, I promise that I'll pull my finger out and get dolls listed on Ebay, there can be no more umming and ahhing, it has to be done 😟
Although I've not sewn for her in ages, I thought I'd share a couple of photos of one of my favourite Sasha girls, brunette Stella from 1969-70. She has falling hair so I've never washed or brushed it, but there's plenty there so she's doing fine. Here she is in a dress by A Passion for Sasha, which I'm ashamed to say she's been wearing since the day she got it....which must be since the spring of 2016!!!!! Ooops!! (Socks by me, shoes by Noreen Walters).
Apart from that I've nothing much else to tell you for now, except to say thank you for continuing to visit and comment on my blog!
I hope you all have a great week and that the weather is not too bad where you are!
Big hugs, Sharon xxx
I love the blue fabric you have used for Dylan's new dress! Those fox heads are a great size on her.
ReplyDeleteThe blue does really suit her.
I have to say i don't think this January's been a good month for getting things done, I've had the same problem putting things off! Let's hope February gets us started, although you've had a great start selling four of your dolls.
Thank goodness you live in a warm Country or poor Stella would have perished in the cold dressed in a summer frock for three years... ;) lol hugs xx
Thanks very much Dee, I'm glad you like the outfit and the fabric. Speaking of the fabric, do you think these could be raccoons and not foxes? I was looking at them again and now have myself wondering if I've got the poor animal wrong!!!
DeleteI'm ashamed, poor Stella, she is lucky indeed that it's not been too cold here!!! I suppose it just proves that I really like the dress though, doesn't it!!!
Hugs xxx
Lovely outfit S! I am loving the stripy tights :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ronny, glad you like it. I do like stripes with patterned fabrics, and it's fortunate that lots of shops like Primark use this fabric for their baby grows and teeshirts....I can get it reasonably cheaply that way!!

Oh Sharon your Dylan simply looks divine in that outfit, she's such a little sweetie and her wee face is adorable, I just want to hug her. You have captured her well in all four shots! Young Stella is looking smart too, but I think it's time she received a little love and attention . . . I mean to say, how would you feel after wearing the same clothes for three years!!! Poor wee thing . . . no go slap your wrist!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
X
P.S. Congrats on the sales!!
Awww thanks so much Sandy, I'm glad you think so.
DeleteAnd you're so right about poor Stella, she really should get a change into something different but I really do like this dress by Ginny, so I'm getting my money's worth LOL ;)
Big hugs xxx
I love the dress on Dylan. She is such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty color for Stella.
I am glad you were able to sell 4 dolls.
Enjoy your time with your son!
Thank you very much Dorothy, I was pleased to find these pyjamas so I have more of the same plus some with a creamy white background too!
DeleteThanks also on the doll sales, it's a fair start I must say.
And yes, hopefully when Brendan arrives on Wednesday we'll have a lovely week together :)

Her outfit looks so soft and cozy. It looks much warmer there than here! My niece Jane and her fiance are heading to their house in Spain at the moment. The cold in England was driving Jane crazy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tam, the fabric is nice and soft on the inside, almost like fleece, so it's keeping Dylan nice and warm!
DeleteWe reached about 20C today so yes, it's a lot warmer than where you are, spring is almost here I hope.
Whereabouts does your niece have her place in Spain? Anywhere near me? I'm in Malaga Province. I'm not surprised she's being driven crazy by the UK weather, it would do the same to me too!

The dress looks so cute and I love the colour and fabric choice on her. She's adorable. I like Stella's very subtle face too. Both dolls are really lovely. You sound like you've been way more productive this year than me! I haven't done a thing! But ... in my defense, my city is flooded from ten days of heavy rain so ... I guess that's okay.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Alasse, I'm glad you liked them.
DeleteWell I have tried to be productive but quite honestly I have been anything but!!! And I don't have any good excuse either!
xx
Both dolls look gorgeous in those outfits! I especially love that shade of blue on Dylan (although I confess I think the animals on the print look more like racoons than foxes to my eye - maybe that's just me though)! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much JS, I'm happy that you think so.
DeleteAnd yes, I think you're definitely right, these are indeed raccoons rather than foxes! LOL
xx
Blue is definetely her colour - she looks amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Stella is also wonderful. :)
Good luck with sales. ;)
Thanks Kamelia, I really like her in blue, in fact blue is my favourite colour anyway, so maybe I'm sort of prejudiced by that!
DeleteThanks also for your good luck wishes :)
xx
She looks great in blue, I love the choice of fabrics and the dress looks amazing on her.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your son!
Thank you!
DeleteI had a great time with my son but the week went by far too quickly :(
xx
Dylan's dress really attracts the eye because of pattern placement :) The color of the striped fabric do perfectly matches the fabric of the dress, you're right. I like the full outfit.
ReplyDeletePoor Stella, she deserves new outfits ;)
Thank you Ariadne, I'm glad you like it.
DeleteAnd yes, poor Stella indeed, but I just haven't had time recently ;)
xx
Another wonderful Sharon-made outfit and your girl looks fantastic in blue! Stella looks beautiful in her pretty dress with great coordinating socks and shoes. I hope you have had a great week and have a great weekend too! Sending you much love and big hugs. ❤️ xxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you very much dear Ginger, I'm glad you like the outfit.
DeleteBig hugs to you too!

When it comes to making outfits for these TINY LITTLE dolls....imo nobody does it better!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks so much Kendal, I'm glad you think so!

Hello Sharon! Cute outfits and your doll looks so pretty in the bluish fabric. Hope that you can sell off some more dolls soon. I know the feeling with the umming and aahhing and some extra days to think about it....
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying the new week and the visit from your son was fun!
Hugs!
Thanks very much Niina, I'm glad you like it. And glad you understand the selling conundrums!
DeleteI had a lovely time with my son, thank you! It just went by all too quickly though :(
Hugs to you too
