Tomboy Toddler :)

Angelina is modelling a Toddler boy outfit today, which will soon be winging it's way to the USA for a little boy to wear over there :)

She tucked her plaits up and really got into the spirit of things....a little bit too much 'spirit' I think as she became rather too adventurous, walking the handrail of our upstairs terrace, which is very high above the ground!!

(Don't worry though mum, looks can be deceiving, she wasn't in any danger of falling, honest!!)

One out.....errr one in!!!!

I always used to try keeping to my own 'rule' for myself, one doll in, then one doll out....until Sasha came along it was working so well, but I must admit that particular rule has fallen by the wayside a little, over the last (almost) two years!

Having said that, I have been good recently and although I did buy a couple of vinyl 'play' dolls, I have also sold one of those, and also a couple more of my BJDs, so I felt justified in 'treating' myself to this new girl who arrived today!

The new girl in question is a light tanned vinyl 'play' doll from the Maru & Friends range of dolls.

Tany's page on the Maru & Friends website.

From the website: "Maru is the true story of a young Hispanic girl, separated from her parents because of political discord, who leaves her native land (Cuba) to go and live with her estranged uncles in America.  Maru must adapt to her new surroundings and her new way of life."  The website goes on to tell the story of how she meets and becomes friendly with a number of young girls from "different cultures", which is where my new girl comes in!  Her name is Tanya and as I already said, she has light tan skin.   Her eyes are inset hazel acrylic and very pretty with long attached eyelashes.  She is actually sculpted by the artist Dianna Effner who also sculpted the Little Darlings, of which my Ellie is one.....so I expected this new girl to be nicely done.  She is much bigger though, being about 20 inches tall compared to Ellie's 14 inches.  Tanya is also wigged, which is great because that does leave lots of options for change, should I get the urge!  The doll is very good quality and the vinyl feels nice and smooth.

Her default outfit, consisting of jade green long cardigan with tie belt, matching leggings, white cotton knickers, white cotton vest and black leatherette calf length boots,  is lovely and very well made, but it being knitted, had to come off in this heat. I also added a second outfit to my order but that too is a 'cold weather' outfit with boots.  She tried out the ra-ra skirt outfit that I made recently for my Zwergnase doll of roughly the same height, but Tanya is wider around the hips and waist than Marlee, but at least I now know what adaptions are needed to my pattern for her.  The tee shirt is a good fit, so no adaptations needed there, thankfully.  Hopefully though, soon she'll have some things of her own to wear!  In the photos below she is wearing Sasha shoes made by Ruth of Ruthsdolls, they fit her perfectly, which is great as I have several pairs of Ruth's nice footwear.  The Jean Jenson T bar shoes are just the tiniest bit too small and I didn't want to force them on, but they would fit fine without socks.  This is great as I have several pairs of Sasha shoes that she could borrow from my Sasha kids....I'm sure they'd not mind....after all, I can see them borrowing Tanya's boots at some point too!!  I do believe Super Dollfie sized shoes should fit her too and will try them once we go home from the coast.

And now for some photos:

Nautical but nice!

I finished an outfit yesterday and thought that it really needed to be photographed with boats in the background as it has a nautical theme.  This morning I drove a few kilometres to a local marina at a place called Caleta de Velez to take some photos.  However, it was so incredibly windy that poor Wren looks like she's been dragged through a hedge backwards....but she looks great compared to how my hair looked once we got back to the car!!!

I was hoping that there might have been a boat owner about and I could have asked politely if I could stand her on their boat deck to take some photos but it was very quiet, just a few walkers and that was it.  And unless you have a special keycard, you can't gain access to the boat jetties. :(

The seagulls came out in force, I guess they thought Wren might have something for them!  Whereas I think Wren thought that they might think she was what they were after!!

"Erm, yes, that little girl in red looks like a tasty morsel!"

Definitely No Fishing!!

Bailey and the Russian Dolls!

I finished an outfit today and Bailey is modelling it for you.....I was inspired by these lovely wooden Russian matryoshka nesting dolls that I bought some years ago whilst on holiday.  I'd love to have them displayed like this but am always worried that the smallest one will become lost as she is only about 1cm tall, so I keep them 'nested'!!  I like that they are looking upwards, maybe it is because they are so small!  Notice their little musical instruments.

The outfit consists of a pinafore dress made from thick white cotton, all topstitched, half lined and closes with snaps in the back.  The Russian matryoshka doll has been appliqued to the front of the pinafore and I've picked out some of the details using tiny blue and white seed beads.  The long sleeved, high necked top is made from knit fabric in two shades of pink and she has matching long stockings that can be worn pulled up over the knees or pushed down for a more casual look!  The shoes are not included in the outfit.

If you are interested in purchasing this outfit for your Sasha, please contact me at dambuster0662@gmail.com - Outfit has now sold, thank you!

Thank you!!

New outfit on Ebay....

I thought I'd list this outfit on Ebay, so hope you'll take a look.  It's an outfit, part of which, I showed last week on Meggie, but instead of shorts, I've made a short gathered skirt...this time Bailey, formerly known as Little Miss No Name or Baldy, is modelling it for you.

The outfit consists of blouse, skirt and striped socks.  Shoes not included.

I'm forever blowing....Bubble Shorts!

This afternoon I finished another Sasha outfit for Ebay and have just listed it.  You will see that this time I'm using Ebay.com instead of Ebay UK, this is because Paypal keep holding my money when I sell on Ebay UK, and until now this has not been a problem when I've sold on Ebay.com.....I hope it continues to not be a problem!!!  It's no good having 'dolly funds' if I can't spend the darn things, is it???!!!! :)

Anyway, this outfit is again made from brightly coloured fabrics, I just can't seem to resist bright colours....I hope that there are other Sasha mums out there with similar taste!  The outfit consists of bubble shorts, a long sleeved knit tee shirt, matching socks and a wide hair band.

Gabrielle, my brunette with repainted eyes by Shelly, was my model, but I thought I'd try it on Millie, my 1971 blond girl, and I think you'll agree that she looks equally cute in the outfit too!

Also suitable for climbing trees if your girl is so inclined!!

A close up of the 'applique' detail on the front, and two tiny heart buttons!

A headband which is also suitable for girls who's hair is a bit thin on top!
Thankfully NOT the case with these two girlies!

Looks just as good on a blond, don't you think!!

Thank you for looking!

Ellory models a new outfit!

Ellory wanted a new outfit more in keeping with her style.  So I made her this A line mini skirt with matching waistcoat and a brown tee shirt.  She added her brown leather sandals and wants me to make her a big, hairband and necklace....which I will get to eventually!  (Waistcoat is made using Ted Mentons pattern which is soooo easy to use!)
