Modelling in Monochrome.....

Today I made another Sasha ra-ra dress.  I bought some nice black and winter white fabric yesterday and of course, being the impatient sort of person I am, I wanted to make something with it straight away!  As if I don't already have a ton of fabric that I could have used! :)

I ended up making two outfits actually, one for Sasha and the second for the Little Darlings.  I'm very happy with the Sasha outfit but the other one needs some work, it's too small, like a sausage skin on her!  But it did give me an idea of what looks nice on her.

My monochrome models here are Núria (1968 redhead) and Ellie (Little Darling):

Now, back into colour, the outfit for Sasha is a ra-ra dress with long sleeves, the top part being in black knit fabric and the bottom 'skirt' part is woven cotton in winter white and black pattern.  There is a white netting frill underneath.  There is a sweet little black and white polkadot bow attached at the hip.  The dress comes with black and white striped socks.

The Sasha set (one ra-ra dress and one pair of striped socks) is available to purchase at £22 for the set plus postage from Spain.  Paypal only, payment as gift or personal payment preferred please).

Please email me at: dambuster0662@gmail.com if you're interested.

The Little Darling outfit is NOT for sale, it's not good enough, but if you'd like me to make something similar in this size, then please email me.

THANK YOU, OUTFIT HAS NOW SOLD....MORE COMING SOON!!

Thanks very much for looking!

  1. Another great outfit Sharon, looks so nice on both the girls. Ellie looks so much like the little sister of Nuria and I love that first photo of them in Black and White.
I am very tempted but no dolly pennies at the moment :( and also I just loved the red set from the last lot!!

    1. Thanks Dee! I'm glad you like it. It has actually just sold, but I will be making more, watch this space as they say!
Yes, Ellie does look like a tiny sister, doesn't she! I hope to make her a better sized outfit too! Poor thing, squeezed into that too small bodice!

    1. Thanks very much Ginger! I think black might not be her colour, she needs something brighter to go with her dark hair. But at least I found out now that my pattern needs adjusting, which I've done now and will make more in different colours perhaps!

  5. Both girls look wonderful. I have never thought of dressing mine in black and white but it really looks attractive on them.

Nuria! That's what I was called by the Spanish mob because I looked like my Great Aunt Nuria. Is she a new doll? I don't remember her. She's a beauty.
I'm currently in a red-haired phase... two just arrived from Shelly - one mine, one Mum's. Then there's another to return in the autumn, grace of Dee, the Sasha surgeon (and Paul the executioner, who lops off their heads, be warned!). Then there are the two Zwergs with red hair who have joined us recently and a little Paola Reina boy. All very exciting and a real surprise as to how many shades of red oll hair there are.

    1. Thanks so much Jenni, and yes, I'm with you on that, I'd not really given much thought to black and white on the child dolls before, but I really liked it once it was done. I saw another nice black and white fabric when I got this....maybe I need to nip back and get a piece, just in case!!! ;)
Nuria is a very popular name in the north of Spain apparently, and one of my neighbours here at the coast has a daughter called Nuria, so I thought it was perfect. There is an area called Valle de Nuria in the north, I can't recall what province, but it looked ever so pretty. As for being new, well I have had her only since the 17th July, I saw her advertised for sale on Sarah Williams's blog and really fell for her, so quickly got in touch with Sarah....luckily I was the first person to do so because I got her for a very good price. I now know who her previous mum was, she is someone I sew for and it's nice to know where she came from!!
I do like the red hair too, although I don't have many red haired dolls. I would love to see your red haired boy too! Yes, you do have quite a few redheads there now, don't you!!!
      Big hugs Sharon xxx
